I've had this book for years and keep returning to it, as I am a work in progress. I also give it as gifts. Don't Take It Personally is my challenge area. BTW, his sons are amazing too and continue their father's work.😀
I am going to watch Luther's documentary. I've seen him four times, and I miss that lovely man. On a concert level, I am basically a heavy-metal fan, but he had my heart.
I love this message Karen! And right before I was about to light someone up for being out of order…I listened to this message. So very timely! Thanks for the reminder! I choose peace and silence instead of :-)
Karen Hunter, I have to admit that you remind me of a time when I had to choose an elective mini course in high school back in the day. I decided to choose "Sociology" from out of the blue in the moment. I couldn't believe how much that mini course taught me in three weeks that I had been out of touch with during that moment in time. 🏫 👩🏫 📚 📖
Very good read. I read this book years ago, and whenever I feel that I need a change, I go back to it from time to time. There's a second part to this btw
I've been practicing these principles for years and I've benefitted greatly from them. In addition, I read and digested "The Mastery of Love" by the same author. These two books have given me a much more grounded in reality approach to life, myself and relationships. I am more genuine, not having to explain myself, clearer about what is "me" stuff and "not me" stuff lol. And a big one is saying what I mean, meaning what I say (there's a difference) and confidently managing the awkwardness of interacting with others. Criticism? Offense? Sure I still feel feelings, I just have far more clarity how to manage that, and respond in my own best interests.
I gave my Four Agreements book to someone years ago and never got it back. I bought another copy back in November. I'll take seeing this video as a sign to start reading the book again now instead of later.
Ye ma'm! This is such an appropriate tool to add to our arsenal of resources. I also work with "The Four Fold Way of Community", by Angeles Arrien. Thanks, Prof. for always pouring a clean glass.
Happy to see you utilize this powerful tool. I use this daily with my coaching clients. It has made such a difference in their leadership abilities. It is also my guiding principles to live by. Once it is embodied, it becomes a way to live and hold others to a higher standard. It is hard to not take things personally, at the same time, it results in so much less reactive actions because it is not always about you and when it is be responsible for your part in the situation.
I wish for the years to come for black Americans prosperous neighborhoods like Rosewood, Greenwood, Wilmington and Eatonville. Happy New Year to all. Amen amen amen.
1. The Four Agreements book is my bible!! That’s for bringing this! 2. Beyoncé had ancestors wronged by Texas dancing in their graves! 3. Equally as important as the others, great show! Thank you! 4. The Luther Movie!!! 🍿 Yes!!! So sorry he felt he couldn’t experience love and keep his job!
We don’t always agree (which is a good thing), but listening to your show reminds me so much of the likes of: Cathy Hughes, the late greats Petey Greene (Talk To Me), Joe “The Black Eagle” Madison, and Bernie McCain!
Didn’t feel that this work had enough universal appeal nor did the narrative flow very smoothly… maybe in the original Spanish it’s better. I am a big fan of The Alchemist by Coelho
Please contact my Mayor Shameka Reynolds Lithonia Ga. She is incredible and amazing!!! She not only shows up for our community she also has a thriving business in our community. Peace and prosperity to you all HAPPY NEW YEAR.
I'm afraid I do not and have never understood "do not take it personally" - people will target you with personal attacks and do their best to smear your reputation, and sometimes those crabs-in-a-barrel are members of your own family. It may BE more about their personal dysfunction than anything wrong with us - especially if they're literally spouting lies - but it literally AFFECTS US PERSONALLY, and anyone close to us who has been groomed to listen to that other person's account of events without even asking us to find out if there might be some other interpretation of what happened, or sometimes a whole other FACTUAL ACCOUNT of what actually happened - they will HELP the malicious person to damage our reputation, which we might need for, I don't know, professional survival. I'm not sure how much time the original author spent talking to (and believing) victims of narcissistic abuse and scapegoating by family; the "institutions of mental health" (and I don't mean the hospitals) can barely keep up with or have resources to combat this phenomenon
I have bought that book 3 times because I keep giving to people. Everyone needs to read it!

Yes. I follow them on YT
"The Four Agreements" is an excellent book! Took me on a journey of deep reflection and self-actualization.
I am going to watch Luther's documentary. I've seen him four times, and I miss that lovely man. On a concert level, I am basically a heavy-metal fan, but he had my heart.
The documentary makes you appreciate Luther's vocal gifts, talent, and hard work.
Wow, more evidence of how Luther can touch a soul!
I introduced Don Miguel Ruiz to my family decades ago and I am so glad I did. 🌿
His writing is food for the heart and mind. 🌿
I first read "The Four Agreements" in 2011 and years later, I got the book on Audible. It has become a repeat read over the years.
Thank you Karen. I will get this book. Have the 2025 you want and need. ❤
Right on time !
I have them in my general Playlist... I get a dose often in my daily media.
You said a word with this one, I needed to hear this ❤

I love this message Karen! And right before I was about to light someone up for being out of order…I listened to this message. So very timely! Thanks for the reminder! I choose peace and silence instead of :-)

I literally just re-read this book last month. 👍🏿
That’s a WORD! Thank you!👏🏽
I've read this book twice. They are not easy to obtain. You have to work on them every day. I need to read it again.
Literacy always wins.
My fav personal development book (and the first one I read)! It's simple and powerful!

Great book and easy read. Not taking things personal whether it’s positive or negative really stuck with me❤
Love this book. I keep a post-it note on my computer with the four agreements so I can remind myself daily. Just started The Mastery of Self.
I gave my Four Agreements book to someone years ago and never got it back. I bought another copy back in November. I'll take seeing this video as a sign to start reading the book again now instead of later.

It’s mental. I’m fighting for my neighborhood all the time. My neighbors don’t respect others rights and property. It’s a constant battle
Well Luther told us, 'Never Too Much, Never Too Much'! 😊
Yes I’m with you those are tough for me as well. But I’m working on it. It’s worst with PPD. ❤
I have the book
Still working on nbr 2..not taking things personally is not easy for me
💯
A fifth has been added.

Unfortunately, we’re not kind to each other. We get the government that we deserve, we are Trump.
