Had to overcome a match point after dealing with the fact she lost 2. She also had to overcome 3 opponents, a dangerous Garcia, the crowd, and most difficult of the 3, herself. Still a growing pain, but making progress. Feel bad for Garcia with that championship point. It would have been easier for her to lose in the second set.

Have seen many players like Yastremska come and go. Media wants to crown her without paying her dues. Osaka started the same way and has turned out to be #1 in the World. It would be great for WTA to have another young star but she needs to prove herself first.
Yastremska is currently my favorite woman player to watch - absolute don't give a crap about his opp's feelings, will just rip every single ball haha. To date her complete undressing of Garbine Murgarutha was still the best of this year, I think under the right circumstance she can go very deep this year at Roland Garros since both Serena and Sharapova already withdrawn, Yastremska easily got the most powerful groundies on clay among all women in the draw, her serving consistency will be the determining factor
Yastremska IS amazing, but she does hit a little bit *too* flat. I feel like she's similar to Ostapenko (but with a better serve) and could be equally as up and down. In this match she had no pressure or expectation, it was all on Garcia. Will she be able to do this when the pressure is all on her?...
Very well done from Yastremska, and off course everyone goes mad for a ball-basher with tons of winners (and as many unforced errors). No hate on Dayana at all, people just tend to support the “all or nothing” playstyle.
True. However she has showed so so much more than that. She really showed brains today. The consistent quality of her returns are arguably something we've never seen before. Her strokes aren't "womanly", she can run so fast and shows great mentality during the match, especially for her age. I've played and watched tennis for 15 years and the way the match progressed it looked to me almost impossible to win. She even made me comment about a woman's tennis match(!). You don't have to be a casual to be impressed with her game and arguably her achievements.

You can't wait for someone to play Barty or Serena to say "let's see what happens when...". Yes it was only Stransbourg but the quality of the opponent is the same (and the passion). Let's wait to see what happens in big tournaments but she has already proved herself in big matches-finals. I expect 2-3 very good runs during the rest of the year at big tournaments.

You don't have to be a casual to be impressed with her game and arguably her achievements.
