Josh Martins....lol...I remember the Giants game being the 1st televised home game for the Pats during this crap season. Not to mention, the majority of the fans were Giants fans.

It's kind of hard to believe in 1990 that the patriots would ever be good after this. Since this terrible season in 1990 and the lowest point of the franchise history. The patriots have 21 game win streak , one 16-0 regular season, 19 division titles, 21 playoff appearances, 10 super bowl appearances and 6 super bowl titles. Their the toast of town and the new dynasty in Boston sports
@FuckingHateTwilight I ceased being a Patriots fan when Parcells left. I was a fan of the team when Grogan and Francis were on the team and even beyond into the Eason /Flutie and QB by committee years. 1978 - 96 ...were the years I put in...And you know .. they really weren't as bad as everyone said they were. They always put a competitive team on the field. They just could never get over the hump. The stadium was always half empty because this place is not a football town; it's all about baseball. It doesn't look that way now but watch; as the Pats fade into oblivion ( we can all hope) the stadium will go back to being a graveyard for the drunk and stupid. Anyway ,with the Pats, there was always a coach being fired or some fucking drug scandal that would interrupt their season. When Kraft bought the team I had a hard time rooting for the them. That guy just flat out sucks; when he pulled that shit in Hartford holding the Commonwealth of Massachusetts hostage for his playground for the football team, I jumped ship.
@FuckingHateTwilight Believe me , that's not bragging. My point was really to bring them into a better light than what everyone thinks of them from those days which is that they were losers. They really weren't.
@FuckingHateTwilight I think they were mediocre. Losers were the Saints and Buccaneers etc.. I think they were in the class with teams like the Rams and Oilers in those days. Not only did the Pats go 1-15, the Red Sox got swept by Oakland, AGAIN!, and the Bruins pissed away their best chance at a Cup in the Neely Borque era.
Bruins didnt piss it away, the Oilers were just better. If Cam Neely didnt get flattened by Ulf in 91, they win the Cup in 92 easily with Oates, Poulin, Neely & Borque
@@ReflectionOfPerfectionyeah losing to the penguins in game 6 was crushing after having 2-0 series lead. I was a very young bruins fan and my family had just moved to Pittsburgh and I had to take a lot of shit about that loss

@Harry Engel That 1984 draft class was weak but only because players from it went to the USFL. Steve young and Reggie White are notables from that class but didnt get drafted by NFL teams.
Amazing how much fortunes can change look at the Cleveland Browns from 1946 to 1969, they were just like the Patriots since 1995. Hell at one point 1950-55 they made 6 consecutive NFL Championship games.

"Marc Wilson, week by week, is redefining the parameters of football ineptitude." LOL (now). SO TRUE! It was awful, I kept wondering, what does it take to bench this guy???
The Tecmo Super Bowl Pats. Worst video game sports team in my life. Only team where the starter (Grogan) was WORSE than the backup (Marc Wilson). Oh to be 12 again and think those things matter...
Manu Ginobilis Bald Spot Over my time in UA-cam videos I've often really enjoyed your comments covering topics that range from wrestling, football and yes the N.B.A. as well. That said this was 1 of my personal favorite comments of them all! The patriot teams back in my era of video games were so not fun to use.
I played them on super tecmo bowl snes !! They had secules and zolak !! Good ground game and solid defense..took them to the superbowl..got beat by the cowboys..27-17 !!
While watching this I thought that Marc Wilson may have had the worst back-up quarterback performance ever. Then I remembered Caleb Hanie, Brandon Weeden, and of course Cutris Painter. As much as I dislike the Patriots I can't imagine that at the time I'd be happy seeing them do so poorly, they were a nobody in the NFL for a very long time and this 1-15 season probably seemed like it was coming eventually for them.
NateTheGreat As a Patriots fan.....this was the very bottom for me growing up. It's like we had never recovered from Super Bowl 20. I just turned 40. I could never imagine the team we have now versus back then
NateTheGreat It was coming because they had what most horrible teams in the NFL now do. Horrible ownership, horrible GM, horrible head coach and no talent. Ive seen injury riddled teams go 5-11 and 6-10 but you have to truly suck from top to bottom to go 1-15 and 2-14
NateTheGreat Well, now you know why we in New England are enjoying this run. (Remember, for most of us, we were also used to being disappointed with the Red Sox). We know this won't last forever; so we plan to enjoy it while we can. Sometimes it's hard to believe that the Patriots are even mentioned as a dynasty like the Packers, Steelers, 49'ers, Cowboys, etc. Many likely don't know that two years after this debacle, the Patriots, after what seemed like a "winning year" at 6-10, sank back to 2-14. And then came the arrival of Bill Parcells, and Drew Bledsoe, followed a year later by Robert Kraft. That saved the franchise.
Worst back up QB I've ever seen was Spergon Wynn in Cleveland in the early 2000's. True story my friend was psyched he got a 19 pt spread on a Jacksonville/ Cleveland game. I told him he was an FN idiot coz' CLE had a 3rd string QB in the game guess who that was!! Final was JAX 48 CLE 3.
NateTheGreat Spurgeon Wynn was one of the 6 qb's drafted ahead of Brady and out of all 6, he made the least sense to take. He was an average QB in D2, let alone D1. Guy had a cannon arm but not much else.
Kiam nearly destroyed the patriots with his responze to the lisa olsen imcident....ironically one if the players in that atrocity, micheal timpson, caught the td pass in ot vs miami in 1993 that may have very well saved the patriots
In 86 they made the playoffs again. But in 87 or 88 (I forgot, oopsies) Raymond Berry refused to start Doug Flutie cuz he was too short, so in miy mind thats what causeed this 1-15 season.
Chris Kreager My dad tells me a story back when Wilson was on the Raiders, he used to laugh at him because he thought he sucked. "Then the idiot Patriots signed the bum!"
Crummy year for them. Marino and Grogan similar: both were rangy, tall QB's with stout arms, but Steve a better runner. Look at Marino whip that ball in there at the last second on that short TD pass! You can't really teach that. Colts mounted a fierce pass rush and Thurman Thomas for Buffalo was a super back - could do it all well. Patriots unis are good nowadays, but I like this look better. They'd go to red facemasks just before the wholesale switchover, and Jets lookin' cool with the dark masks and striped socks. Cincy just played great ball all the way around. Lots of heads bouncing on that crappy artificial turf, and it helped no one's brain.
When the Steelers were called the pirates they were almost a victim of a winless season in 1939 and when they renamed themselves the Steelers they had a almost winless season in 1941 and in 1969
To see why the Pats were this bad,you gotta move back about ten years to 1981 when they went 2-14. The next year (82) They went 5-4 and got to the playoffs.
Very ugly locker room moment between players and a female reporter Lisa Olsen. back in the day when they allowed reporters in the locker room while players were changing to take a shower - dumb practice in hind sight
Chandler S Bryant 76 Bucs and 96 Jets are up there. Also 2001 Panthers coached by 2 time super bowl winning HC George Seifert, they won their first game then lost the next 15, including a loss to the eventual champion champion Patriots in Seifert’s last game in the NFL
Every team has a bandwagon when they get good and a devoted core who will follow them to hell and back. Remember all the 49ers and Cowboys "fans" from the 80s and 90s? Where are they today?
Andrew Vidal those teams have bandwagon fans regardless but the patriots bandwagon is hilarious the patriots having a bandwagon is like if the Portland Trailblazers had one that's how obscure and bad the patriots were before 1996.
+getyoasshome Actually, it was more like 2001. Before that, every QB they had was mediocre, maybe except for Drew Bledsoe & Doug Flutie. But other than that, Steve Grogan sucked, Jim Plunkett was a decent player on a lousy team. Wilson, Hodson, Zolak & pretty much every other starting QB for the Pats, sucked. With the exceptions of Brady, Bledsoe, Flutie & Plunkett.

Patriots won because Kicker Jason Staurovsky was the hero of the game, hitting three field goals in a 16-14 win in Week 2.
hezamachine Jason Staurovsky, Not Igor Stravinsky
In 84 they fired Ron Meyer for Raymond Berry
5 Years before the Pats were in the superbowl now their in the toilet bowl.
To see why the Pats were this bad,you gotta move back about ten years to 1981 when they went 2-14. The next year (82) They went 5-4 and got to the playoffs.
IN 85 they got to super bowl twenty and lost
wow when espn was reporting sports and not the soap opera bullshit they do now
That awful turf though smh
Remember what...Robin Roberts straight? Chris Berman with hair ? What?
Who thought Steve Grogan playing with a "hurt neck" was wise against the 1990 Philadelphia Eagles?
Ronnie Lip-PETT
Brady wouldn't have put up with how bad this team was 😂
back when espn wasn't run by reds and also when the pat's unis didn't suck
11:34 seahawks kicking pats asses
28-24
@8:55 I’m SO confused by this culture reference. Can someone older than me please explain?
Very ugly locker room moment between players and a female reporter Lisa Olsen. back in the day when they allowed reporters in the locker room while players were changing to take a shower - dumb practice in hind sight
It's Lipp ett lady, learn how to pronounce it. Was a horrible season and period for us. So glad we pulled ourselves out of this nosedive.
1990 gate 19= @ ten tion. Pats. Riot.lol1776=21=3 truth.
Worst team I have ever seen in NFL. Worst QBs. No heart. Awful.
08 Lions and 2017 Browns Easily take the Cake as the worst Teams. Pats at least got 1 win that entire season
@@chandlersbryant4047 who did we got 1 win out of that season?
@@1990Thunderbolt We beat the Colts in Indianapolis I believe
@@chandlersbryant4047 lol we always make the colts our bitch! the steelers included!
where's the so called pats nation?? they didn't exist before 2000???
+getyoasshome I was there. This was the first year I started watching the Patriots.
Andrew Vidal majority of patriots "fans" don't even remember these uniforms.
Robin Roberts' commentary was not necessary! This is and always will be a man's game!
Matt A found the edgy angry mgtow yeaa brooo wimmen r evil dood 😂😂😂😂
2023 team is just as bad
lmao no, this team was marginally worse. the 1990 team straight up quit in the middle of the season
0:52 you don’t show a 27 yard touchdown pass from Steve grogan to Irving fryar?
