Okay. You made it out. Been caving for 42 years and to be honest guys, that 450’ drop in the water was beyond sketch, it was downright risky. Lost a dear friend in Ellison’s due to hypothermia. I noticed bolts on the wall as you descended, perhaps to keep you out of the water flow. Long time spelunker here, I have been saying the same thing for months. These two brothers are criminally reckless. They produce good videos, but the risks they take, are absolutely insane. Really amazing how people don't prepare for situations that are common to the task they embark on. An emergency space blanket fits virtually anywhere on a person's body or gear. Put one in each rear pocket and it's extra butt padding . Always send a illuminated bag of essentials (first aid, batts, light, spare comms, rations, etc.) ahead of your descent. I've even left items behind knowing that I/we'd be back in a few days/week to finish exploring. One new found cave I have a camp set up and it's also a retreat if ever needed. Yes I do pack in and pack out my items and trash when finished with exploring.
One of the things I consider a highlight of your videos is when you are pointing the camera at a given formation and then a person steps into the frame and you suddenly get a true perspective of the size of things. A small stone or passage suddenly becomes enormous. Real action. Real adventure. Makes me long to be 40 years younger.
Unfortunately, life is too short for some people. I am 52 years old and now I get a lot of ideas for sightseeing and learning about the world, but unfortunately my ancestors lived very short :(
I will never in my lifetime get to or want to descend that rope. But thank you for taking me along. It was scary but thrilling. You have my respect and admiration. I pray you stay safe.
Thanks to yall we get to see parts of the planet most people will never see. Its crazy how much is still undiscovered. I love yalls videos keep up the work and be safe. Sending love from Tx
My anxiety would be off the chain if you two were my sons , even with you being strangers I’m like on the edge of my seat thinking how would they get outta there if their lights went out deep down in a cave somewhere . You guys are brave and adventurous and doing what you love just be careful guys ❤️🙏🏽❤️
Never watched a video from you guys before, but that last huge drop was downright scary! I can only imagine how cold that water must have been! Rappelling under water like that is so risky for so many reasons, but I'm glad you both got out ok. So many stories of cavers doing similar drops and not being able to make it back out due to hypothermia and the force of the water.
it'd be neat to see you guys bring some kind of UV/black light source to see if any of those crystals light up. i bet there are some wild colors to be seen if they are in fact reactive to it!
@@TheBeefSlayer opals, rubies, fluorite, and diamonds are all examples of crystals that react to long and shortwave UV light. it would be wild to see the sides of the caves light up to UV light. it would be even more otherworldly than it already is!
@@db9885 in my experience lots of fungus will react to UV light and it will look like a start sky at times. Yeah I knew some precious stones have UV reaction but things like geodes don’t typically react which is more like what this cave is.
For something that high you need auto climbers with manual switch out options for sure. Thats like climbing up mountains. You for sure need better Thermal gear, but it is a crazy thing to do either way.
Have not watched you guys in a couple of months due to claustrophobia creeping into dreams, and absolutely dominating my waking reality. But watching you guys again still makes me want to break through that fear and venture into a cave safely.
Hey I completely understand what you’re going through. That feeling of fluctuating anxiety and heightened senses. You have a very strong self preservation mechanism like me. Your claustrophobia is playing into that almost entirely. When I was deployed I was constantly barraged by negative dreams. Luckily my buddy who grew marijuana was married to a shrink, who was extremely helpful. She taught me to settle my mind just before bed by envisioning a story of my choice where I know the positive ending and I create the story up until the positive ending. It’s a mental trick to hinder the uncertainties we are dealing with in all parts of our life by honing in on a focal point where you are certain you have a grasp on reality and not at the mercy of your fears and anxieties. I’m butchering how she explained it to me but she practically made my anxiety of loud noises and raised voices and my anxiety of being trapped some place, melt away by listening to her advice I thought was just mumbo jumbo. She was my elder so I listened respectfully and turns out became a psychiatrist for her father who had severe post traumatic stress disorder. One thing she told me that stuck and I try to pass along to others was, she told me the quality of my thinking is directly linked to my quality of life, so I need to improve the quality of my thoughts if I ever want to get out from under the invisible stresses I’ve placed apon myself with my negative thoughts. Exposing yourself to your fear is detrimental, but if you do decide to seek out a cave, please try this. Walk into the cave and find a safe place to sit, flash a light as far into the cave as you can see from that safe place and sit with your back turned to the depth of the cave and close your eyes and tell yourself over and over I’m ok in your mind until you’re compelled to say it out loud verbally and focus on your voice till you feel something change. Do this as many times as you need and do not cause yourself any unnecessary distress by staying a second longer than you feel comfortable. Stay strong sister, and remember fear is just byproduct of your ancestors ability to ensure you are here, and it only benefits you. So flip the script on yourself and change the perspective and quality of your thought (: Stay safe and be well.

Dang here I am all tucked snug in my bed and yet as I was watching you guys descending down those ice cold waterfalls, I was shivering along with you! I don't envy this descent at all! So glad ya'll made it out safe and sound.
Back in the 1960’s there was a caving group called the Rockeaters my brother was in it and my cousin Jerry Reeves… he is still well known as Rockeater he’s been in every cave in TAG and still does ridge walks to try and find other potential caves… I love caving but I haven’t been in years…. Awesome video guys…
It fealt like a humanoid lizard would pop out of the shadows at any time after that 500 ft drop, esp since you foreshadowed the lizard in the start! :3
Man, you guys have a steel set on you! I usually don't watch these because of anxiety but, your title drew me in and I love well mapped caves. You guys are some thrill junkies.
This planet is such an amazing, beautiful, and wonderful thing, we need to take so much better care of it. We are fools to think there is anything that could ever be better out there. We are fools to think so. You all are waaaaaaaay braver than I could ever be. Thank you so much for sharing this awesome place. 🧡🙏🏻
That drop had me on edge😲🤯 PLEASE GUYS! BE MORE SAFE! Wet suits would have helped in this cave. I'm relieved to be watching this video. I love watching this channel but you guys are crazy🤪
The three parts of this cave expedition have been as entertaining for me as any thing I have ever watched. When I see you guys repelling down a 500 foot drop I am thinking this may not end well but of course if the video is out nothing real serious must have happened but still it’s nerve racking just to watch! I can’t even imagine how you feel actually doing it! Tip of the hat to you guys you have to be in great shape to pull this stuff off! I am wondering how many times you guys have suffered any type of injury! Phenomenal video!
You know that was adventurous you guys took me on a nice cave trip yeah 🤠... I've been basically paralyzed 3 years getting my mobility back.. hill climbing motorcycles and jeeps thanks for the adventure
People have died with more gear there and the camps glad you made it out… We went spent a few days in there mapping new tunnels and the water levels increasingly rose. We almost died but the original mappers lost a few people. Plus not to be a kill joy you need to wear different gear and sanitize your gear before entering. There are different vulnerable species down there and any above ground bacteria can disrupt the life down there.
Can you elaborate? Is the system named? (or is it called Staircase to Hell?) Did the deaths occur from dislodged boulders? Hypothermia? Failed equipment?
@@charleshorseman55 ellisons cave flooded a group and killed alot of them, a guy also got trapped down there thinking he was ok when a boulder shifted and he fell being trapped under debris, a group of experienced cavers got flooded in and had to spend a ton of days trapped down there which led to some of them dying while water was being pumped out. There are alot of deaths that occurred there hence why they have the infamous sign.
a little Sketchy ..... " And Yeah ...You're gonna get Wet ! " ..... that takes some brass one's to do that last drop...... thats waaaaaaaay to much water coming down ... looks like double base powder charges to open up the cave system ... easy to make and use .... surprised you didn't get hypothermia in all that water ....that was epic....
Haha we took a page from your book with the, 'and yeah your gonna get wet' 😂. We were shaking in our boots at that last drop, and we came out of that cave on the verge of hypothermia lol.
Hey man love the content in the future don’t trust just one fixed bolt to hold you, there were two in front I would have loved it if u had anchored to and used all three, I climbed for 15 years and had several bolts break off especially when around water, so just ya know the more fixed points the better, take care keep it up!
There is altogether too much trust put on anchors and ropes that someone else left behind. Metal can get easily fatigued in cold wet environments and snap suddenly from invisible stress cracks. The same thing that has brought down airliners. Metal fatigue is a silent killer.
That last rope drop in a pit where you cant even see the bottom and you have to trust that tiny piece of metal to hold on. Dude i have been skydiving and i think its less adrenaline than going down that rope.
It's almost as if I'm watching your progression as a caver in real time. Each decent getting more and more technical and big, from crawling around at 100 feet to gearing up and dropping below systems 2 football fields deep. Sure, was the decent sketch? Yep. But isn't that the part of learning how to become a competent climber, testing your limits? challenging yourself. You know the mechanics of caving, and having someone experienced to accompany the gnarlier are signs of becoming a competent caver. and about 'putting yourself in danger for more views' Hell nah, It's clear you simply just love to go caving, the views and prestige of sharing what you just love to do is really just a bonus. Wholesome content! Climb safe and keep exploring!
This is the best cave adventure to date for me. You guys did an amazing job videoing the route you took through this awesome wonder of nature ! Most caving vids I see are only cavers squeezing through impossibly tight seams in the rock. I don't enjoy those, they seem so pointless and extremely dangerous. I am sure you two have most likely done that as well but this particular cave was a real wonder. Thanks for taking such great close-ups of the various crystals and formations. Beautiful !
always love your uploads, guys! hope to be as adventurous as you two once I'm through with college and have more time to dedicate to learning the ins and outs of something as complex as caving.
I agree very much, we often go cave, but to be honest, I don’t agree with adventure, similar caves, we usually bring diving suits, or special warm blankets, they are very brave, but I hope they come back safely every time!
Not gonna lie, this blew my mind tbh, I get hit by the train of reality everytime I get reminded of how CRAZY yet beautifully well perfected world is to my own eyes & the amazing people that take us ' viewers for a crazy journey, got the ballz of steel, you gave us the experience through the lens, can't imagine how it'd be in person, props to you, your channel, n the explorations, may God be with you all
I have been anxiously awaiting this video you guys have helped me decide I'm getting myself into as many caves as I possibly can this summer I'm in Utah so I've got quite a few to embark into
I've been waiting for this one. A month longer than I needed to 😆 you guys are gonna need a 40 man team and alot of supplies to complete this journey if you're where I think you are. I've been told by a former grotto member about this cave, years ago. They entered from 2 separate locations. It's a long way from your last rope finding to the exit. Someone obviously had to have entered from different locations for the ropes to be there. The guy was telling the truth. They were a legitimate grotto before the age of cell phones and GoPro's. I only knew the guy for a week. No idea where he is now. What you're doing is amazing. Thank You.
It must be hard to drag those huge balls around the rocky cave surfaces, stay safe guys, these videos are crazy, I imagine they do no justice to the scale and terror of some of these locations, amazing stuff.
Do you ever get the creeps waiting down there alone? I would start to imagine humanoid creatures coming at me like out of the old movie The Descent. The depth of this cave is awesome! I don’t know how you do it. I bet you felt amazing afterwards though! I hope there is going to be a part 4 one day!
Camp down there! When you turn the lights out all you have is your ears. You hear things. It can mess with your mind. Caves are an audio treat and/or nightmare depending on your fear of the dark.
I've climbed Fantastic Solo, lights out. It's a trip! I had been down enough times that lights out was a new and cool experience. You know you can turn your lights on when your head hits the lip!
That was amazing. I’ve been waiting on you guys to go back and make that drop ever since the first time you guys saw it. Absolutely amazing. Things rarely seem. Thank you for sharing. Keep being careful!
“I’m a bit scared I haven’t been on a rope in a long time”, “oh there’s a lot more water in here than last time”, “yeah I put on a cavesuit” (implying the other didn’t), continues (both) to rappel down a waterfall (wich of course also must be scaled again in thesame cold and wet clothes). And that all in the first 7 minutes. It’s nice to have some excitement but damn you guys really try your luck :d, I hope you stay safe, together with all other adventurers
You can hear the anxiety in dudes voice when he yells to his brother to let him know he's about to get on the rope to ascend that 450 ft climb. Screw that
Thanks for sharing, it’s wonderful, these caves are very different from the caves in China, this year there is a shortage of water everywhere in China, but not only is there no shortage of water here, but it is also very clean, you can drink it directly! You are very brave!
This was like my 1st time watching "Journey to the center of the earth". I Keep expecting to see marvelous underground cities. Thanks so much for taking us on your adventure.
Man, I'm glad you guys made it out alright. What an adventure!! And thanks for the trip because watching your video will be the only way I want to explore!! Awesome!! Subscribed!!
I must say you guys have balls of iron😅 To be able to in those tight walls under the cave or going through 400-500 feet underwater falls it was pretty insane also interesting scary 😊 It will never dare to go in any cave so thanks you guys for showing me these sorts of places, great adventure 😊
OMG though how do you guys just trust those random metal hooks you find down there?! Like what if it was super old and rusty or the rock cracked and got loose? What if a bolt was bent? :o How do you know who left it or when?
Wow! What an amazing journey! You really made it down that home AND back up again! That requires a lot of inner strength and endurance. I applaud your efforts 🎉 🙌👏
I highly doubt they push on in tough situations for YT views. People were doing this long before the internet or action cams. Having done 7 hours underground and 11 hours total including the hike, lots of respect for pushing on and having no injuries. I was 60 then so you have many more decades to enjoy these adventures. I think your filming and editing are great. It's not easy under those conditions. Put the walkie-talkie in a sturdy ziplock bag.
We have deep open pit craters that have huge lava tube openings in their walls but you can't get to them. Rappelling is dangerous due to the walls being unstable. I've tried. Large bee hives too. I once discovered a small opening at the bottom of a lava tube skylight that went down at least 80'. I know this because I lowered a thermometer down on the end of a rope. It was over 120 F down there and I was alone so I never explored it that hike. Came back a week later and a new flow had buried it. I'm sure this island has plenty of deep caves but finding them would take pure luck. Even if you found one it would be extra dangerous due to the amount of earthquakes we get. @@k0diak777
The blast charges and rope near the end of the trek has me intrigued. Wondering if there's something hidden up there, or if it leads to another cave system.
Speaking of waterfalls, I just returned from Iceland. Sure wish I could send you guys some of the pics. Was a bucket list thing for me. It was beautiful. LOTS of hikers there. Made me think of you guys. That drop was just phenomenal. Jaw dropping. Wish ya'll could go caving in Arkansas. Lots of quartz crystal and diamonds there. My mom's family was from there.
I've been in a cave once for a good solid 6 hours and man does it get extremely cold af when your feet are wet. Apon finally exiting the cave to feel the warmth of the sunlight was to feel like being rebirthed into the world again. Amazing experience!
You guys are living my dream! I love caves, and would love to explore and cave-dive. Just don't have the opportunity (kind of anxious to even look for one, or people to go with). Thanks for these videos!
I don't see many videos like this but I must say I was so relieved to see you make it back out. 11 hours! I had no idea you were in there that long. You young men stay healthy and well. God bless and protect you ❤
Hey guys what an amazing cave new to community of exploring and this was insane… more concerned at the amount of water and it just kept coming … there must be a decent set of caves to dive when it reaches the bottom … makes me think the water must exit somewhere - the volume of water was crazy … you guys had huge balls to take this on, my concern would have been a weather change, those caves would flood very quickly and badly… thanks for sharing awesome
Really appreciate the video! No gold chunks or jewels or ruby's? Nothing down there? Really admire the bravery to do that. I'd be thinking of the cave monsters going to get me lol.
I was hoping you guys would find a Ka-jillion dollars of gold, but the really cool salamander will do-crystals too 😉. The hypothermia had my attention, glad you guys made it out!
Absolutely insane. So far my favorite cave you have explored. Thank rope climb back up that massive waterfall must have been a challenge. Thank god y’all made it out safe!
We are all young and invincible until we aren't. Wont catch me anywhere near there. Big caves or small, I'll be in a cold dark place for long enough, soon enough. Glad they made it out.
27:20 top left corner of screen on the cliff way up high looks like something is reflecting and maybe moving?? Kinda like eye shine. Maybe im just seeing things. You guys have most likely seen some crazy things in your adventures! I cant beleive you kept going for that far down so many wet ropes you guys must have been hypothermic! Great video thank you for sharing it with everyone! Very cool of you! I lost my toes and have been recovering for a long time used to be very active and never sat still so it kills me but i have to do it. Used to hike, mountain climb, mountain bike, motorcycle, ATV's and was a owner of a landscaping business. So was always moving and now its alot different. Never as much energy as you and your friends but some what close. Your videos help me get out in a way so thank you! 👍🏻 stay safe and have as much fun as you can while you can!😁
The lower set of bolts is to keep you out of the waterfall. There's been a few recorded deaths in this exact scenario. Probably one of the first stories you are told when looking into cave exploring. You boys should do a few courses with professionals if you want to take this career further.
Hey guys, just started watching your channel. I have plenty of interest of things outdoors, but spelunking is definitely NOT one of them...However that's because of claustrophobia and not because it isn't interesting. Lol I used to work in a potash mine 2,000 feet underground in what they call lowback. The ceiling, or back, was about 48 inches high, give or take about 4 inches depending on who the miner operator was that day. It was the blackest black, darkest dark, and quietest quiet than most people couldn't even imagine. The craziest part was that where area of the states where the mine is, has a massive aquifer underneath it. Water eats potash. They constantly had to pump water out from the mine because it would just seep from the walls and ground. Sometimes while cutting, the miner operator didn't even have to use the misters that are used for dust control because the potash was moist and soft enough that it didn't produce much dust. The craziest thing was when there was down time and we had to just kick back and wait until the belt came back online, you could actually hear the potash ceiling (back) and walls (ribs) popping and crackling like a bowl of Rice Krispies or Pop Rocks. The main area where the cage came down as called The Bottom. That's where they had offices, crews met in the mornings, fuel depot, emergency pad, etc. While some mining areas were closer to the Bottom than others, most of them took us over 30 min drive to get there. The furthest two, where they minesda harder type of potash called langbeinite, was closer to an hour drive; all underground. That was an incredible experience, but I don't think I'll be going back down there anytime soon. Plus, it was a Fortune 500 company and I have NEVER worked for a company that gave less of a shit about employee safety than that company. Go figure. Lol That being said, I love that someone else who does enjoy exploring caves takes the time to make videos of their journey into the ground. I would never go, but I love the videos. I also love the formations and crystals you guys find. Do you think you could give a little info on the geographical area and/or type of rock or mine that you guys are exploring? Maybe some geology buffs can explain in the comments what everyone is looking at and what you guys might have found. Again, thanks for the vids. Be safe out there and take all precautions and don't cut corners or do anything risky for us viewers.
Everyone: want to stay alive? Always take 4 black garbage bags with you. Fold them up and put them in your pants pocket. They are small and light. You have 2 sets now. Uses: (1) dry shelter: put two holes-2 hands down from a bottom corner for breathing holes. Put over head and climb into second bag. Will keep you warm & dry even in below freezing weather. (2)Use a bag over each leg as boot in wading across stream. (3) stretch out bags to make sign for air rescue. (4) use one bag as raincoat. Twins: Put your walkie talkie in a sealed sandwich bag and vacuum the air out to keep it dry. Do the same with each spare battery and spare light. The small added weight is worth it. Carry a few empty sandwich bags in your kit.
Please be very careful and take every step with caution. You never know if a rock could give away at any time. You could fall, get injured, trapped or pinned under something. Remember John Edward Jones got trapped in Nutty Putty Cave. He couldn’t get freed and his body is now stuck there till the end of days. Curiosity Kills the Cat , as it’s said. Just be careful. Anyway, that cave is insane and incredible. God bless. ❤
This is the scariest thing I've ever seen. You can only be so lucky so many times. That water is moving rock every moment every day. Nothing is safe down there.
I have to say I have a terrible case of claustrophobia and even though a lot of that is larger areas I just have to say you guys are absolutely insane!!!! Lol man you guys risk your lives. You risk those big boulders caving in on you when you go in those tight spots. It’s just an unbelievable risk that I don’t know if anyone could find you guys if something happened.
Can you show how you ascend the rope back to the top sometime? Edit: The crystals were amazing! So beautiful!! Final edit: I finally made it to the end of the video and never mind on showing the rope ascend! You guys show how it’s done nice!
“Dude!”, “Dude!”, “Oh, dude, look at the, DUDE!!”. Such thought provoking analysis! Graham Hancock ain’t got shit on action adventure twins! There may be even more deeper unexplored parts to that cave. The water stream leads to deeper parts and maybe even to a larger cave system. I believe that the water stream leads to a river or even possibly to an ocean somewhere. But it’s too dangerous to attempt that adventure. About 90% of the underworld is still left unexplored.
There's something that can be said about a person that says "I don't trust any of this" but goes ahead and does it anyway. So many Cavers have said those same words but never was able to utter them again. There is an extremely fine line between courage and stupidity. Those who make it back out rode that fine line. But those who didn't are the ones that broke that line so others could learn.
This thought is why I might skydive or climb mountains, but I will absolutely never go deep into a “wild” cave. If there’s a risk of death I want to to be a fast death. Not starving to death in the dark waiting for a rescue team that never found me.
Thanks for sharing this. Wow a rallye deep pit. Gratulation for made it. I saw as Well some Solid anchors in Metall at the wall while ging down. The people bevor you Placebo them to circumstand the waterfall in a save way.

It would be even better if u could spot Man made structures... you could be in a giant melted building... or literally inside the body of a giant that has been turned to stone
Rule of thumb anytime you are climbing or rappelling, use all anchors available. There were 4 bolts up top you could have ran webbing through and had 3 backup anchors in case of failure. I would have even gone further and added a natural anchor that isnt dependent on proper installation of a bolt.
I just found you guys. Are you guys the modern goonies? Seriously though, I have been in a few caves and some underwater - was the recipient of a good "talking to" by an experienced caver... in summary, I don't want you guys to stop doing what you love but I would like to see you up your game as far as redundancy is concerned and perhaps training beyond "hard knocks".
Does this mean a part 4?👀

Yes!! It’s so crazy to think about!
one of theee most insane explores yet!!! absolutely incredible, the balls you guys have is insane! i couldn’t imagine doing something like this!
So flip the script on yourself and change the perspective and quality of your thought (:
Stay safe and be well.
Depending on where you live there are cave tours where you can go into a cave that has a nice path and some even have lights already and a guide.
Have you tried breathing exercises to deal with the anxiety? Andrew Huberman teaches some really good techniques..Quick and easy. On Neuro Lifestyle YT channel..Check out vid > NEUROSCIENTIST: Breathing Technique Only Top 1% Do

I can’t even imagine how you feel actually doing it! Tip of the hat to you guys you have to be in great shape to pull this stuff off!
There are alot of deaths that occurred there hence why they have the infamous sign.
there are also quite a few failed equipment issues that happened there.
someone brought an obsolete crimp that failed and fell to their death and trapped the rest of their team down there and only one made it out.
the temperature can drop really quick down there and on top of flash floods it can inundate the cave and leave you stranded at camp 3 for days
a little Sketchy .....
I think they used both, you can see both bolts being used as he climbs up.
Also, some of the very short tails in their rappel knots are horrifying,
There is altogether too much trust put on anchors and ropes that someone else left behind. Metal can get easily fatigued in cold wet environments and snap suddenly from invisible stress cracks. The same thing that has brought down airliners. Metal fatigue is a silent killer.
That was amazing! Sorry you had to get wet and cold but I'm so happy you brought us along.
Thankyou for posting these videos! The two of you give me amazing things to see ! Love it.

Thank You.
Thank Edward for that. I never felt capable of going down there so I didn't go! Sometimes you just miss out in life if you don't try!!!!

Any deep caves on big island?
@@k0diak777

Wow that cave is incredible
Go figure. Lol
That being said, I love that someone else who does enjoy exploring caves takes the time to make videos of their journey into the ground.
God bless. ❤

I think this is a full mapped cave called Ellisons
@@getoffthegames89 I wouldn't say fully mapped... But it is a known cave and very explored
Every time I watch a caving video, I can't help but think what it would be like if all your lights got destroyed while you're in there.
This thought is why I might skydive or climb mountains, but I will absolutely never go deep into a “wild” cave. If there’s a risk of death I want to to be a fast death. Not starving to death in the dark waiting for a rescue team that never found me.

WOW. That was like going down into the abyss. Never ending down. You made it back up. Good.
