This will be great to watch. Pretty sure that’s an old parilla SL that was made by DAP. That Rotax came out in about 90/91 from memory. The Yamahas were around since the early 80s. They still used rotary’s right through until 98 in the highest divisions. You can’t beat the sound of a rotary turning 20,000 rpm! Looking forward to watching the rest of this!
yeah I'm not 100 % on the year of this engine. its coming apart so maybe when we see inside it someone will be able to tell the year from the port shapes. yes it is gunna sound incredible
Good luck! and thanks heaps for watching. the old 100's are super fun to drive, they sound wicked and just remind you of the good times we all had as kids
I used to drive in the jica category in the 90's. Now im back restoring a 1996 Haase Scorpion with a 100cc rotax dsc. You should do these restoration projects more since its starting to get more and more popular and no one actually documents these resto jobs
The old man had to cut that front chassis bar out and replace sections a couple of times in the pre-nosecone days. Big fields in JNH at Oakleigh back in the day... say no more 😆 I came back to racing 20-odd years later and was shocked what you could get away with (and that was before the rear bumpers came in!)
@@PowerRepublic 👍 , cool project! I myself, was an Tonykart Esprit sprinter, here at Greg Moore club in Vancouver, in the mid 90’s. KT100, TT75 were the classes i raced. its better to bend a C spindle then the C on the chassis. 👍
Hello! Motoplat is also installed on my kart. This ignition interferes with the electronics. For example, on the AEM AFR and the speed sensor on the shaft. Is there interference? How can you fight them?
Hi, a few small dents shouldn’t significantly affect performance but if the muffler has HUGE dents then it might be time to replace it. Perhaps find someone who may have a used muffler in reasonable condition. Cheers
1993/4 Parrilla SL (not a Greyhound) made by DAP, hence why it's green not red (fun fact the green colour was not originally for Senna, but for our own John Pizzaro (RIP), but Senna claimed the kart as it was his national colour too back in the 70's). The gold floor tray came out in 1993 . Standard 15/17mm step stubs. The original DAP Nassau panels were only in Red and were made of Plastic, not fiberglass, although we did have exact copies made in fiberglass, but that one is the wrong shape. The genuine steering wheels were red, followed by red/yellow and were stamped DAP in the centre. Steering column is post 92 as well, as before that they only had a centre mount for the tie rod ends, not Ackerman steering. Front wheels are not correct as they have the wrong offset to them. Master cylinder is definetly wrong, and the mount has been modified too. Calipers and rotor are correct for an SL, which were different to the Greyhound. Rear axle is correct for the period, and they were a very soft axle. Rear wheel hubs are Edwards not DAP as the originals were a different offset and not Ally. Engine would be a 90's Rotax. That was a fantastic Yamaha J or Clubman chassis, too soft for that engine and lacking the 3rd bearing. I'm an Old DAP guy, hence why we originally met through RKS back in the day and was the QLD Parrilla dealer for a short time.
Sweet as, thanks for all the feedback on the kart. it is missing some genuine parts but It will still come up pretty ace when she hits the track. stay tuned for the engine vid coming up and see if you can identify it for us.
Hi ! Can you give me the dimensions and the diameter of the spacers for the front wheels (the one just before the clamping bolt); I am restoring a kart of the same model, great job.
Hey Power, I'm 15 and have been looking to graduate from arrive and drive to owner karting for quite some time now, specifically the Briggs Senior class. I've been reading the regulations and technical stuff for the engine - but I can't seem to find any info about the sort of chassis I would need for the kart to be legal. I'm looking to race in MIKA at Mosport in Canada, if you have any advice on where I should go with it, then it would be much appreciated.
Nice project, exactly what we need as the retro racing is also becoming bigger and bigger again. Keep up the good work!
thanks heaps, yeah I love the sound of the old girls. but I am going to use an airbox which is not really period correct.

Great video, i'm about to restore my early 2000 Maranello kart with 100cc Itasistem engine, content like this are so useful, thank you so much!
Good luck! and thanks heaps for watching. the old 100's are super fun to drive, they sound wicked and just remind you of the good times we all had as kids
Love these old kart videos
yeah they are fun to make and even more fun to drive
Super thankful bud you've made life alot easier in my house or should I say garage

sweet as, if you are in SEQ we could do race off
love the rebuild videos
thanks heaps for tuning in !
Just finished a full resto on a 95 kiwikart uno, running a kt100, cant wait to watch this resto!
thanks for the good vibes legend, the engine pull down is gunna be SICK !!
That front crash bar is like my trackmagic. When I pulled the frame apart, there was 9lbs of lead in the rear frame tube
what the heck man, did it change the flex of the tube much ?
@@PowerRepublic no noticeable change. Guess it was in place of seat weights. I’m 122kg on a 80cc shifter. I’m the one who needs to loose the weight.
loved it!
thanks legend, 10 days to the next episode .....

yeah the plastics can forgive a lot of on track action.
5:46 isnt it better then to have the C section on the chassis?
yeah I guess so, but this is old school design

@@Laurent312 agreed. the chassis do bend easy. yeah the 90's were sick for kart racing that's for sure
may karts are just diffrent ,My earliest 78 BUG is C
Ahh memories, lucky for me had one of the good DAP chassis, how did that one end up green? Nice one Derek m I'm sure you'll do a great job
yeah not sure about the green machine paint, maybe a re do. she's at the powder coaters now
Engine is a rotax DSB
The kart looks to be early 90s dap judging from the look of steering column and fuel tank
looking forward to follow this projekt
thanks for the info. do you know how many HP's to expect from it?
@@PowerRepublic hi i think is around 25 to 30 HP
Nice project!!Show as how to rebulid this Engine !!
thanks legend , engine pull down is next up
I'll definitely need to take pics first so I can put it back together😅😅

Not sure, haven’t started her up yet. Maybe update to the modern CDI
Is it ok to drive with an exhaust with dents on it for hobby driving?

Yeah the omega are still going out of SA

I use to have Dap greyhound the original colour is red
It's actually a Parrilla SL chassis made by DAP, Green is correct for that one.
yeah this one is going back to red. my personal favourite
What is "DAP" I restored my GT-1 car & now a couple of Trackmagic Dragons down to re-powder coating like your "DAP"
dAP was an OG Italian kart brand (person). Made famous from Ayrton Senna driving them back in the day
Hello
