This radio reminds me of the old Magnum or whatever the hell it was... well of course it's not a 10 m but the shape I guess.. either way I still think the President Bill is the most impressive little guy that you guys have.. just because of its size alone.. anyways have a great day thanks for the video just thought I'd chime in and say hi I haven't commented on any of your UA-cams for the better part of the last decade🤣
It is a 50 watt radio out of the box with the RF power all the way up, however after the modification you can get the 70 watts from a 2 watt dead key something the radio would never ever do out of the box.
You have been VERY quiet. Everything alright? I was going to send you at least one if not two cb radios for you to check out. The usual peak and tweak. Hope to hear from you. Thank you. BTW... Found your website, just checking in with you first. Thx
Scott I’ve been trying to get in touch with him for about 4 or 5 days now. I’m a little concerned because he’s usually good on returning calls. I hope things are ok with him, if anyone knows what’s up please post.
Yep. You removed R131, Keyed the microphone while pressing Scan and mode and turning on the radio to access it's service menu to adjust power and modulation. Then you soldered a 1000ohm 1/4 watt resistor on back of board to convert it, then added a switching diode to the power section. Oh the finals are RT1 ranger mosfets. Set gate voltage to 4.2 volts and that radio will do 90+. I've been working on radios for 20+ years. The ONLY way to get that radio to key 2 watts and swing 70 is to remove limiter and completely open ALC. About half those watts are on the 50mhz and 30mhz band. Splatter box. But, that's the only way to be heard these days.
@@1022videogates So that Ronald he featured was mine.. I got it back, tried it out, I could hear but I couldn't transmit. Very disappointed, as I have done business with him in the past. I bought that radio you see in the video & ran it for awhile then we decided to try to get some xtra out of it. He wouldn't answer my calls or do anything to try to fix the situation. I've been told that it's not repairable at this point? Sad thing is all the other stuff he has done for me was great, not sure what happened with him.
You graduated. Now you are featured on Fine Tune CB to be bashed. Welcome to the big leagues! You must be doing something right to make Mark Sherman and his losers hate you.
Yep once they start splattering on all frequencies they are no longer a useful tool only a toy to annoy everyone on every frequency band at one time no need to change the channel when I need road condition reports I don’t need someone thirty plus channels away taking my receive out
Hi there, I've watched your work.i love the work you've done on installing RFX amps.very neat .are you still working on them?I have two new RFX 85s amp.for two new radios.it would be cool if you can do the work.please if you contact info for me to get back to you.thank and be safe

I appreciate that!
I have not heard back from cbrepairguy. you know sometimes they get really busy and they kind of fall behind .
scott H yeah I been using him for a couple years now and I know he gets slammed. You getting a radio tuned up from him?
Yeah I just like to have a conversation with him sometime and go from there. Do you know where he is located?
scott H he’s in Brazil, Indiana. Phone number is on is website. Good guy, not sure why he has been hard to get a hold of.
Nice work

what finals are you using?
Use the RT1
@@cbrepairguy are just replacing the 3 finals, and what else do you have to do. I'm thinking of doing this to my Ronald. Thanks for the info
Didn't know you could"TUNE" a radio without trimmer pots. Somebody must be spreading tvi and filter coils for them ghost watts.
Well you learned something new.

Wow, what an honor to be officially bashed by the holiest of holy. Lol
