SESSIONS: Big Green East Coast Slabs
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 тра 2020
- Deano Bowen and co went chasing a swell at an east coast rock shelf setup in late 2019. Missions like this can easily turn into a fail with shifting winds and swell direction but on this occasion, the crew scored half a day of solid pits for their trouble.
Sick. Nothing better than getting barrelled. These guys are legend.
Love the shots. Love hearing all the guitar strings either breaking, tuning after the new strings were put on - and the robot dog.
Another great video. Surfing has come so far since the ‘70’s when I was a grom. Back then, in SoCal, my buddies and I thought the only waves worth riding were Pacific and Indian Ocean. Man, we’re we wrong...
this is australia
@@asherharris9250 Well I mean the east coast has a slab like this one
@@jacklucas4665 oh cool
@@jacklucas4665 as someone who grew up surfing the east coast (of the us, not aus), we only get it close to this good in the fall and once in a while in the winter.
@@redlion45 Up here in NY we get a few solid winter swells a year, some specific beaches go off but if your looking for a slab you have to go further up into maine
Whoa- choice choobs, wicked chunderings and a bewdy "backdoorie" at 4:25. Love the post!
it's Nova Scotia. Obviously, a typical spring day in Nova Scotia. All the waves are in slow motion here. You'd think it would give you more time to get into the wave, but you end up going in slow motion too... the traditional Nova Scotian folk music is a nice touch! thanks!
D.E.L. My favourite Nova Scotia slab for sure 🤙
No gloves. No hood. No way.
Haha jealously guarded by AUSTRALIA suckers is n.s.w south coast
Ok whatever ya reckon
No. It’s Australia. East Coast Australia, NSW.
This is how it should be every day! For everyone!
What a perfect day:) Scored big time guys:)
It was breaking just like this today at this exact spot massive cyclonic swell was good to seem some of the locals killing it
Yes east coast where ...looks southern hemisphere to me ..
And lam sure lve surfed back in the 70s when it was on, though a little smaller .
Mark Sheehan east coast of Italy. Firing on all cylinders.
@@castelodomar846 hahahahaha, where else would it be but OZ,lol
OZ
@@castelodomar846 AUSTRALIA m8
@@castelodomar846 😅😅 the only thing firing in Italy would be the Mafia..
It's worth it to just cop a pounding in that surf. Beautiful
minimal techno and hearty barrels ... good combo
I am a west coast OG and I thought that was really great footage! Huge respect and admiration for those lucky devils!🤙
Surfed it from the mid 80s...paddled out
This break was just down the road from me all my young life. No one would surf it because you couldn't tell it was breaking from the land. It wasn't till later that people realised what a good wave it was. 😢
From Syd and doing my research this waves off bellabi point NSW south coast . Any local pointers 😂 ?
@@joelsinton9796
It's behind the s*** works so block your nose.
Great footage, we can all make a guess at a location. It's awesome.
No 🙅🏻♂️🤐✌🏼
Wollongong
this is the northern suburbs of wollongong
No telling 🙅🏻♂️
🤐
Super sick ..gracias amigo
Towradgi point? Dont know its my first time 😉
Primo bit of photography, can’t say I grove on t sounds but I’m an old bugger.....
I T I agree. Great footage ruined by a terrible choice of sound track. Seems to happen often with surf clips.
@@M17CH68 that's your opinion mate. I think a lot more ppl would agree that the music choice was good. I personally think it went perfectly.
Some of the comments are epic.
Florida?
Rhode Island?
Sydney Harbour?
JESUS
You could drive a semi through that tube. Man.. that is one helluva wave! But... East coast of where? That’s def not the US
Australia, New South Wales:/
Haha even if you know it's exact location good luck getting out there😂😂

At 4.20, coincidence? I think not

They are wearing wetsuits in may so this must be further north than Florida. Those waves don't look like East Coast waves at all.
david arbuckle - reminds me of Blacks & some other local slabs 🥳
It's Connecticut.... You should go lol
I think it's East Coast Australia. Probably south coast NSW?
david arbuckle Hatteras going off
Macros The Black nah man, that's Hatteras NC 😉
Looks like the Gong or somewhere around there, there's a lot to pick from. Heaven if you love cold water and grey skys.
Gregory Baillie wollongong - northern beaches somewhere
Wollongong cold water? Don't think so.

Yep gong for sure. The Virge
@@xwhite2020 so why are those guys in wet suits ?

Geez. Some commenters dont like the music. Others dont like that it was shot in slo-mo. Shut up and quit whining
Exactly! The slow-mo was great showing the set-up to getting barreled - especially with that one small section that occasionally pancaked on the guys.
@@jasonjackson5696 agreed... incredible to see it “set up“ like that...
Zepster77 I surfed a lot of days at Puerto like this & if you triangulated you’re position correctly, you’d get the same shot at a deep barrel. However, if you pushed your luck at the takeoff, it was a beating you didn’t forget - even after a dozen Superior beers 😂😂
No we just don’t like the gay bar noise in the background!
dezionlion - and how do you know how it sounds in a gay bar? 🤔😂
OMG
Looks like Shark Island

shark island... the best wave
Definitely not shark Island
Yeah cuz shark island has mountains behind it, it's northern beaches 😉 😉

Looks very similar, but no. SI breaks a couple of hundred meters off Cronulla point and its a bit more mutant than this, often sucking up so your surfing over dry reef!!!
@@TheZacdes and the backdrop isnt cronulla
Spoiler. I see cliffs. Definitely not the ' East ' Coast.
