I’d say that Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition is by far my favorite one here. I mean, not only does the game look way more gorgeous, but comes with an amazing newly arranged soundtrack (even if you can switch to the OG at anytime), plenty of QoL improvements to streamline like the expansion, like a sidequest tracker, bonus EXP and both an easy and hard mode, and a brand new epilogue to boot. It’s by far the definitive version of XC1 and what I’d reccomend to anyone who hasn’t played the series. The more recent Paper Mario TTYD is also great for similar reasons, and with how much effort and production value is put behind it, it almost feels like a new Paper Mario game despite being baswd on an old one. And I can hope that if it proves successful, Nintendo returns to this style of gameplay due to being where the series hit its peak by far.

Super Mario Advance 1 is actually, by far, my favourite of the GBA Mario ports. I feel the subseries' controversial voice clips are a particularly good fit for SMB2's silly, whimsical personality, but it's the balancing tweaks that really carry it for me. It's far easier to find 1-ups and extra hearts than in any of the previous versions of the game. The Yoshi egg hunt adds a crucial new level of replay value that really incentivises searching for subspace locations in a way the previous releases lacked. They also swap out one of the samey Birdo bosses with a mecha version ("Robirdo"), and that's a fantastic tweak. From the FDS Doki Doki Panic, to the NES SMB2, to Super Mario USA, to the All-Stars version, to the Satellaview version, to SMA, Mario 2 was one of the most thoroughly revisited games Nintendo ever made, and I think they nailed it with Advance. Its vibrancy and creativity really shine, and I argue it puts it in genuine competition with 3 and World. SMBDX on the GBC took similar pains to elevate the original, but the limited screen space really holds it back. I'd love to see them revisit that content on a system that can display SMB1 comfortably.
I just wish someone would make a mod of the NES or especially SNES version with all the extra stuff (Heck, I feel that way with all those GBA "remasters" like Mario Advance and the DKC trilogy, even if I've always had a soft spot for them)
You failed to mention that Twilight Princess HD added the Cave of Shadows, which is basically a second Cave of Ordeals in which you play as Wolf Link. I'd argue this is a bigger change than any change from WWHD and SSHD.
Locked behind an amiibo. Visually identical to the cave of ordeals and is a near identical challenge to the cave of ordeals. It's cool and the reward is nice but it's not better than the swift sail or 60fps
I think Xenoblade Chronicles DE is one of the best remasters ever made. It made so many improvements, the games looks so much better and everything is a lot more fun to play. The Future Connected part was rather meh, but you don't have to play it if you don't want to.
I must be an apologist or something cause I really liked Future Redeemed. It was a nice short story that adressed some things and they didn't mess with the lore or anything.
Future Connected is great, super fun gameplay with a ton of incentive for exploration. And yes, Defitive Edition is one of the very best remasters put there, Jon is out of his mind to put it at 11, it blows several of those other remasters out of the water.
@@shigerumiyamoto9612 I enjoyed it too, but tbf there weren't any big highlights. It was nice to see the Melia storyline properly finished tho. Spending more time with Shulk and Melia was worth the playtime.
Very much agree. I'm actually playing it right now, and the upgrades to the side quests alone make it a exponentially better. Back when I played the original, I just flat out gave up on side quests because they were such a hassle. Didn't even touch the Colony 6 stuff. I'm doing every quest in DE though, and happily, because it's so easy to see where I need to go and what I need to do.
Xenoblade DE is easily one of the best. My whole rule of thumb with remasters is "does it have improvements/major changes over the original that make it a better package overall, make the old version obsolete, yet doesn't sacarfice anything the original had?" Xenoblade ticked all the boxes.
I would watch a whole video of you guys showing off the most bonkers and best Miitopia Switch characters you have in your collections. :D I have such fondness for the Miitopia remaster; I made over a dozen Miis based on existing characters, like Herdier from Pokemon, Asterius from Hades, Capt. Selkie from My Hero Academia, Forthington the badminton cat from Rhythm Heaven... a wacky and impossible multi-franchise crossover! In a more authentic-looking way than the original 3DS version did.
Pikmin with traditional controls is great. The swarming mechanic was instrumental in the design of the C-stick on the GameCube controller. The biggest flaw with the Switch port was that they made swarming more cumbersome in service of a somewhat unnecessary addition of free camera control. It’s fine if people prefer the motion-enhanced versions of 1 and 2, but to my mind the GameCube originals were already fine-tuned to the GCN controller, especially the first title.
One thing I love about Twilight Princess HD is that they made Link a Lefty again. It's silly but as a lefty it always felt nice seeing Link holding the sword and shield the way I would.
Xenoblade DE gave us higher fidelity character models, improved textures, quality of life changes to the menu and ui, added fashion gear, added a challenge mode, remade the soundtrack to make it more crisp, and an entirely new epilogue story with 3 hours of voiced cutscenes and new music. It's a huge remaster and I think it's the best remaster on this list. There's no downgrade, unless you hate anime, which is a personal issue and not an issue with the game.
I am probably the only one, but I like, and prefer, the new control in Skyward Sword. The motion controls were fine, but the sword being controlled by the right stick was the way to go for me.
I agree with you 100%. I just wish you could swap the use of the R button from camera control to sword attacks instead. Literally every time I wanted to move the camera, I whipped my sword out by mistake.
I missed a lot of the Game & Watch games with the GBA being my first handheld, but after recently getting back into portables, all of those games are hidden gems ESPECIALLY on the go with the proper form factor!
By the way, if you're into emulation, there is a ROM hack of super Mario all stars that corrects the physics in super Mario Brothers 1 and lost levels to how they were before.
While not as flashy, Super Mario Bros. Deluxe on the GBC is fantastic, the screencrunch unfortunately knocks it down a bit but everything else is wonderful
honestly, even as a huge xenoblade fan and somebody who loves XCDE, i think people give the remaster way more credit than it really deserves. it's great and looks fantastic no doubt, but i'd put it moreso along the lines of WWHD, where there were really just a few big changes to specific aspects of the visuals that had a large impact across the whole game. a lot of models for enemies were left largely untouched outside of added specular highlights and normal maps (i forget the exact name, it's been a minute, but that giant boar-dinosaur thing in makna forest looks largely untouched from the wii original, as one example), sometimes you'll see higher resolution textures but even that's kind of hit or miss with things that aren't prominently featured in story cutscenes. what's interesting to me is that, despite this, there's actually *more* that's been done to the game than i initially gave it credit for, but part of why i didn't notice is because, while improved, certain things aren't really improved to a very modern standard. a lot of armor sets for characters have additional geometry, but less so in a way that makes it look better during normal gameplay and moreso to smooth over small things that could look odd in specific circumstances. like, where sleeves had no thickness in the wii version, resulting in the occasional situation where a character pointing their arm towards the camera exposes the paper thin nature of the armor models, they were updated to have thickness and some internal geometry, but they still largely look like assets right out of a wii game. in fact, this inconsistent updating of assets sometimes creates this weird disconnect where a ps4 grade model with smooth geometry and high resolution textures is juxtaposed with a less important object which by comparison, though fine and unobtrusive in the original, now looks blocky and muddy. all of my old man grumbling aside, it's still the definitive way of playing the game, even if only for the inclusion of Expert Mode. the original had this ever present problem where you kinda had to choose between having an enjoyable challenge in combat and engaging with side content, because if you did too many sidequests you'd quickly become overleveled. being able to freely level down when things get too easy (and i mean *any time,* not just from an inn or campfire in NG+ like in 2/3) then bumping yourself back up to where you were when you just wanna move on makes the side content and any endgame content WAY more enjoyable!
disagee, you are vasty[ly underselling all the addition. Its QoLs surpassed even hat was displayed in Torna the golden country. The video also failed to mention the time attack which is straight up a land of challenge equivalent from 2 DLC. Future Connected can give 20+ hours of game if you go for sidequests (which are as great as in torna, but without forcing us to do them), and unlike what Jon implied, it is thats to Future Connected story that we got the foreshadowing of 1 and 2 universes merging (otherwise, 3 setup will feel a bit out of nowhere), and showed that melia becaomes Queen, and we can see how relevant this was because 2 did not get a epilogue DLC, and as such, and Nia is shown as Queen it feels out of nowhere. 1DE together with metroid prime are easily the best remasters to come from Nintendo and Jon lost his mind when making this rank.
@@joebilly3719 yeah there's for sure more than what i mentioned, but i don't think that all adds much. time attack is a fun bonus, but goes nowhere near as in depth as its equivalent in 2. at best it's a nice little distraction, where in 2 it could provide endless entertainment for dedicated players. note that the superbosses in xcde's time attack are neutered in certain aspects. future connected honestly wasn't much of a plus to me. its writing, direction, and tone all felt far worse than the base game, and it gameplay felt like an afterthought. where torna had a fully revised combat system from base game 2 and fully new character archetypes to use and experiment with, FC felt more like a pretty good fangame, essentially just reskinning sharla and reyn for the nopon and not having a team which synergizes well in combat. i suppose it's better to have it than to not have it, but to me it felt like i had finished a 5 star meal only to be handed a mcdonalds burger as a "bonus". like, sure it's better than not getting it, but was that really supposed to be the exciting new addition?
17:18 Thank you for showing me how to get to the e reader levels, I had wanted to play them but had no clue how to get to them. As of an hour ago I beat them and honestly they were better than expected
Great list! I agree, OoT3D is very underrated nowadays. The original was legendary, but it doesn't scrape Top 5 Zelda games for me, but the 3DS version does. You even forgot to mention it includes a Boss Rush mode (it is shown in the video) AND MASTER QUEST!!
Heavy on the TPHD and SSHD part, I feel like people view the HD improvements as how they always envisioned the game in their heads when they played the games years ago so the visual enhancement doesn’t seem as impressive when in reality it very much so is.
Maybe someday, Donkey Kong will make one of these lists. I think Returns HD will be excellent, but right now, people are already hating it before it's even out.
Poor bums are the ones complaining. With the excuse being they want a new DK game. What they dont understand is the stage had already been set for a new one. All they need to do is show that DK is still relevant.
I miss the 3DS remasters of Ocarina of Time and Star Fox 64. Really hoping that they'll bring these games back someday on the Switch because I'm just really salty that I sold my 3DS back in 2017 :(
Same here, man! I sold both my 3DS and Wii U to help fund my launch day Switch, but I really wish I’d held onto the 3DS in particular. I had pretty much every first-party Nintendo game, all the Nintendo (and SEGA) 3D Classics, tons of third-party and indie titles, plus a bunch of Virtual Console games. They were all downloaded from the eShop and my New 3DS XL was in mint condition. Seriously, I was an idiot to let it go.
@@simonpotticary7658 Bro I did the same thing except I just traded my 3Ds because EB Games were offering 50% off on a new switch so that was a steal. I think what I regret most about losing is all the StreetPass records I had. I took my 3DS to Japan a few times so you can imagine how great it was there.
With Twilight Princess HD VS Wind Waker HD I think it's like... Twilight Princess made a lot of subtle tweaks that, as you said, result in the game looking "how we remember it looking". It maintains the style the original game was going for, just, executed better. Whereas Wind Waker HD... takes a game that was deliberately programmed to have entirely flat shading and makes everything a subtle gradient. Whether you like the effect or not (I personally think the GC graphics flat-out look more appealing), it undeniably is a change to the overall aesthetic that goes beyond just improving texture detail. It does not look like the same game anymore.
I loved the video. I would love to have remastered all classics games like Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island or Zelda ALttP on Switch because the best version currently is the GBA.
I really think Majoras Mask 3D is vastly underappreciated, I was a bit dissapointed it got waved off here even if Ocarina 3D is ultimately the better choice.
@@skyriotAndKadeGaming I think all the changes were for the better except maybe a couple where I was like "meh, I could've done without this". One thing in particular I will never understand is how people can think the Twinmold fight was better in the original. It's so completely repetitive and uneventful. It doesn't even utilize the elemental dichotomy between the red and the blue. It's all just for show, "Look, boss huge... oh look, Link huge too cool". The remaster changed it into a battle that was actually fun to play.
It does look pretty good when seen on it's own. The problem is that to achieve its vibrant lighting, it basically overwrote what pulled the whole game's art style together. I feel like that's precisely what a good visual remaster should *not* do. I never really understood all the talk about the game's cel shading being so cool until i saw what the original looked like. It honestly didn't even need an upgrade, it still looks awesome, and i say this as someone who prefers TP and is REALLY tired of WW fans never shutting up about TP's art style "not standing the test of time" (Seriously what's the point of the whole "WW is misunderstood" thing if you're gonna act the same way about the next game just because it isn't WW) In comparison, i'm not sure if HD even has cel shading or just minimal anti-aliasing shadows... It even uses blurry shadows a lot of the time, and coupled with its promotional artwork, it seems like they didn't even want the game to look like a cartoon. It still looks nice, but honestly, i identify it more with a modern Paper Mario game than a drawing a lot of the time.
The traditional button controls in Skyward Sword HD were a game changer for me. However, I just wish there was an option to toggle the R button function from camera control to your sword attacks instead. Pretty much every single time I simply wanted to move the camera, I accidentally whipped my sword out by mistake. In the end, I just went back to motion controls.
Although not Nintendo, the Sonic mobile ports are easily some of the best remasters. Crisp audio, smooth framerate, easier special stages, save slots, and widescreen just makes them the definitive version.
Everyone keeps talking about how they want a TP and WW HD collection but personally I really want them to port Ocarina 3D it really is such a good remake/remaster
The circle pad feels very odd in Star Fox 64 3D. That said, it's still one of my favorite games to play in 3D. That's the game I'll show people when I tried to show them how good the 3D looked. Now, if only we could get a new version. A Switch version could even still be in 3D with Labo... We'll call it Star Fox 64 3D HD VR!
Honestly, if we see another release of Twilight Princess on Switch or Switch 2, I really hope it gets a Prime-style geometry upgrade, because it really needs it. Honestly, even as someone who didn’t really grow up with the game (though I was able to play through most of the Wii version a few years before HD) I’ve always felt that the HD textures actually end up being pretty unflattering for most of the game. Wind Waker and Skyward sword both have the benefit of a lot of “chunkier” designs that can have their textures scaled up without feeling out of place, but for Twilight Princess it feels like upping the detail in one specific aspect of the models just ends up emphasizing how much the geometry isn’t showing that detail. If you’re playing it in pretty much any connection better than composite video I feel like the original version’s cohesion to its visuals makes it much more appealing to me overall. Also, I’ve only ever seen like one other person talk about it, but can we also talk about the input delay in certain actions? The original already has delays to things like sword swings to make it easier to charge a spin attack, so even that little bit of extra really goes a long way to make the game feel less responsive. I was even able to boot up the Wii version on the same TV and get proof it was more responsive. Honestly, not to be dramatic, but despite how much I see people like Jon sing it’s praises, I’d find it pretty hard to recommend the HD version over the original if you have the option.
I recently bought a wii u, largely to play wind waker and twilight Princess hd and the remaster of twilight princess made remember how much I LOVE that game. The remaster is so crystal clear and beautiful. I now love twilight princess more than ocarina of time and I still want switch ports of those I also wish they'd do an HD remaster of mario galaxy 2 (the other game I wanted access to by buying a wii u). It's so, so good. Come on nintendo please!
I kinda get annoyed that when people go "I want a REAL remake of Ocarina of Time" as if the 3DS one doesn't count. Like do we really need to remake the same game twice?
Oot 3D is a game that is not in HD. It does not look like a game that is not in HD. And it does so on a system that in itself, is not in HD. That’s a good remaster.
It ain't just that remasters sometimes remove things that you liked, sometimes they are also buggier because by messing with the game code and changing ONE thing for the "better" they change something else for the worse. Because video game code is a feeble thing. If you change even ONE thing it can have a technical chain reaction and fuck up something seemingly unrelated elsewhere. That's also why sometimes "garbage" from when the game was in development is hidden away somewhere in the background that you would never see unless you use cheat devices to access it, because while I would personally love for a game to be completely "cleaned up" before shipping, some of these leftover assets are kept in because removing them would mess up something in the finished product.
ALttP on GBA was my introduction to top-down Zelda and I fell in love with the formula! Nintendo absolutely did the right thing with that remake. Don’t underestimate the value of bringing old games to a new audience.
great video jon thank you!! i agree with your hot take, even if i prefer the remastered version of a game i will always appreciate being able to go back! i will always Love the crusty look of original kingdom hearts, and also the very questionable decision of putting camera control on L2 and R2, even if i hate it at the same time
Obligatory complaint about the abscence of Kirby Super Star Ultra and Return to Dream Land Deluxe (I don't think Adventure 3D is worth playing over Nightmare in Dream Land).
Miitopia's character creator is the best. I'd love it if Nintendo stole Grezzo's homework and apply that Mii maker format to Switch 2 profiles and any/all future games that feature Miis.
My first 3ds game is Ocarina 3d, it just perfect and i still replaying it to this day But grapics wise in my perspective Majora's 3d looks more stunning, the lighting effect feels too good for a 3ds game
I preferred the XC1 definitive edition to the original. I probably would never have replayed the original, once was enough, but seeing it in the remaster I almost enjoy it as much as the other two in the series
Happy to see some love for Ocarina of Time 3D... I love the original but the 3D version does it justice with subtle visual upgrades but retaining the visual spirit of the the og.
Zelda games on the WiiU and 3DS are amazing for the touchscreen inventory management. (Slightly related: it’s a shame that they took out touchscreen controls for BOTW)
You about features in Zelda remasters WWHD had camera feature added TPHD had cave of shadow and amiibo SSHD had full camera control and amiibo OOT3D also had master quest and gautlet
I bought a couple of months back Super Mario Advance #4 like new on ebay because of how good that version is, thankfully the giy that sold it had the game really taken care of that like new was almost sealed. Until Mario Wonder came Super Mario Bros 3 was my favorite 2D Mario now it is on second place.
Metroid prime while having remade textures and lighting, it still uses the the same code and level geometry. A remake would be remaking everything from scratch
I really don't like the ambient occlusion in the Windwaker HD. There's a shadow bloom that sometimes happens around link when there's nothing behind him to cast a shadow on. The original I think had the second best cell shaded look (the original Jet Set Radio will remain my favourite) and the updated lighting in HD ruins it. I much prefer the GameCube version.
I can still play windwaker hd and twilight princess hd on Wii u I don't need them on switch what I want is OOT and MM 3d remastered on switch but instead we got Luigi's mansion 2
Don’t get me wrong, I’m still pretty glad that we got LM2 HD, but like you, I’d have vastly preferred an Ocarina of Time 3D or Majora’s Mask 3D remaster instead. Kid Icarus: Uprising would’ve been beyond awesome, too.
@@simonpotticary7658 same here I never played LM2 on 3ds so I'm enjoying playing it on switch and yeah kid Icarus would be nice in HD...I'm hoping when the next system comes out new game are put on that but they keep making remakes and remastered for the switch
Excluding the fantastic Wii point controls for Pikmin(&2 ...& RE4) and the Metroid Switch dual stick controls, I tend to prefer the original hardware over remasters and ports, mainly down to feel. Particularly games from Dreamcast and N64. Most consistent example being all the Sonic Adventure director's cut and HD versions- I found them unplayable for all the bad camera, odd hit detection, invisible wall glitchy-ness that the game is known for but never had an issue with the original. I put this down to time and putting up with more back in the day but playing on the Dreamcast recently, it is still flawed but much better and more responsive feeling than the later versions.

I'm the only one who really enjoyed future connected it seems 😢
Future Connected is great, super fun gameplay with a ton of incentive for exploration. And yes, Defitive Edition is one of the very best remasters put there, Jon is out of his mind to put it at 11, it blows several of those other remasters out of the water.
@@shigerumiyamoto9612 I enjoyed it too, but tbf there weren't any big highlights. It was nice to see the Melia storyline properly finished tho.
Spending more time with Shulk and Melia was worth the playtime.
Don't really agree with Xenoblade being relatively low on the list
Definitely should’ve been higher that remaster is absolutely amazing with the upgraded visuals, revamped quest system, fashion gear, and the epilogue
It being below skyward sword HD is insane
Xenoblade DE is easily one of the best. My whole rule of thumb with remasters is "does it have improvements/major changes over the original that make it a better package overall, make the old version obsolete, yet doesn't sacarfice anything the original had?" Xenoblade ticked all the boxes.
Xenoblade DE does have one downgrade. It doesn't have the jukebox from the New 3DS version. Unplayable.
Xenoblade DE and Metroid Prime are easily the best remaster to come from Nintendo, this rank makes no sense.
Shout outs to Kirby superstar Ultra, one of if not the best remaster
I would watch a whole video of you guys showing off the most bonkers and best Miitopia Switch characters you have in your collections. :D
I have such fondness for the Miitopia remaster; I made over a dozen Miis based on existing characters, like Herdier from Pokemon, Asterius from Hades, Capt. Selkie from My Hero Academia, Forthington the badminton cat from Rhythm Heaven... a wacky and impossible multi-franchise crossover! In a more authentic-looking way than the original 3DS version did.
If you count Donkey Kong Game Boy as a remake, it should be number one.
I definitely agree.
it's basically a sequel tho
Don't trust people who think Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland is bad.
this^
Oh my gosh! I haven’t even watched yet, but I got really excited when I saw the topic, and it’s a Jon video! Now I’m super excited!
Jon is the GVG MVP. What a great guy
Jon when you inevitably do a follow up video of a "15 best SEGA Remasters" you better include NiGHTS Into Dreams and Jet Set Radio remasters.
understand the concept of love DUH-DUH-DUH-DUH
The HD port of NiGHTS PS2 has some problems though, mainly the controls and the Saturn mode having texture filtering.
How much of that list will be the amount of times they've remastered Sonic 1? 😂
The best Sega can probably eke out is 5 good games. And almost all of them are Sonic games that sucked at release, then patched out.
One thing I love about Twilight Princess HD is that they made Link a Lefty again. It's silly but as a lefty it always felt nice seeing Link holding the sword and shield the way I would.
You guys have been killing it with these editorial videos lately. Keep it up!
I can dislike the art direction the series went in after the first game and how the remaster adopts that later art style for consistency.
Xenoblade DE and Metroid Prime remaster are easil the best remasters to come from Nintendo and Jon´s rank here makes no sense at all.
I agree. I play my Switch basically only in handled so using buttons control was the way to go for me and I really enjoyed the game.
Ocarina of time 3D was the first Zelda game I ever played. It has a special place in my heart.
Grezzo are masters of the remaster!
honestly, even as a huge xenoblade fan and somebody who loves XCDE, i think people give the remaster way more credit than it really deserves. it's great and looks fantastic no doubt, but i'd put it moreso along the lines of WWHD, where there were really just a few big changes to specific aspects of the visuals that had a large impact across the whole game. a lot of models for enemies were left largely untouched outside of added specular highlights and normal maps (i forget the exact name, it's been a minute, but that giant boar-dinosaur thing in makna forest looks largely untouched from the wii original, as one example), sometimes you'll see higher resolution textures but even that's kind of hit or miss with things that aren't prominently featured in story cutscenes.
what's interesting to me is that, despite this, there's actually *more* that's been done to the game than i initially gave it credit for, but part of why i didn't notice is because, while improved, certain things aren't really improved to a very modern standard. a lot of armor sets for characters have additional geometry, but less so in a way that makes it look better during normal gameplay and moreso to smooth over small things that could look odd in specific circumstances. like, where sleeves had no thickness in the wii version, resulting in the occasional situation where a character pointing their arm towards the camera exposes the paper thin nature of the armor models, they were updated to have thickness and some internal geometry, but they still largely look like assets right out of a wii game. in fact, this inconsistent updating of assets sometimes creates this weird disconnect where a ps4 grade model with smooth geometry and high resolution textures is juxtaposed with a less important object which by comparison, though fine and unobtrusive in the original, now looks blocky and muddy.
all of my old man grumbling aside, it's still the definitive way of playing the game, even if only for the inclusion of Expert Mode. the original had this ever present problem where you kinda had to choose between having an enjoyable challenge in combat and engaging with side content, because if you did too many sidequests you'd quickly become overleveled. being able to freely level down when things get too easy (and i mean *any time,* not just from an inn or campfire in NG+ like in 2/3) then bumping yourself back up to where you were when you just wanna move on makes the side content and any endgame content WAY more enjoyable!
disagee, you are vasty[ly underselling all the addition.
The historical importance of the original is important, but I usually preserve the quality of life fixes of remasters. Great point at the end, though.
Who is Emio?
EMIO FOR SMASH!
smiling man >:)
We need an Emio remastered.
Its pyoro in the video about to be executed
My sleep paralysis demon
Love seeing that Sonic Adventure 3DS theme make an appearance
Maybe someday, Donkey Kong will make one of these lists. I think Returns HD will be excellent, but right now, people are already hating it before it's even out.
Poor bums are the ones complaining. With the excuse being they want a new DK game.
What they dont understand is the stage had already been set for a new one. All they need to do is show that DK is still relevant.
Im so happy Super Mario 3D world is up there…This game should be in top 10 best games of all time
Its not a remaster though... its a port
@@shigerumiyamoto9612 whatever it is it's one of the best games ever and it's a remastered port
They became HD, so remaster. Unless you never got a copy to see the difference.
Is that the obscure and beloved character Vib-Ribbon back there?!
Awesome.
Love your Zelda-themed background
Shoutout to Super Mario Bros Deluxe on GB. Best version of the NES Mario Bros
It has terrible screen crunch.
@@dukemon6163true. But the features are still soooo great
I loved the video.
Majoras Mask 3D made a ton of terrible changes that made it worse than the original
Agreed I think all the changes in 3D were for the better. Except Deku Link being slower on water which is super minor.
Ditto. Even some of the common complaints like boss eyes and Deku physics add thematically to the game, methinks.
@@skyriotAndKadeGaming I don't think I'll ever understand this opinion. 3D was eminently more playable than the original.
Never understood the hate behind the visual updates to wind waker hd. Looks amazing.
It honestly didn't even need an upgrade, it still looks awesome, and i say this as someone who prefers TP and is REALLY tired of WW fans never shutting up about TP's art style "not standing the test of time" (Seriously what's the point of the whole "WW is misunderstood" thing if you're gonna act the same way about the next game just because it isn't WW)
In comparison, i'm not sure if HD even has cel shading or just minimal anti-aliasing shadows...
Mobile games. Meh.
@@DontKnowDontCare6.9 you can use a controller bro
Everyone keeps talking about how they want a TP and WW HD collection but personally I really want them to port Ocarina 3D it really is such a good remake/remaster
The circle pad feels very odd in Star Fox 64 3D. That said, it's still one of my favorite games to play in 3D. That's the game I'll show people when I tried to show them how good the 3D looked.
Now, if only we could get a new version. A Switch version could even still be in 3D with Labo... We'll call it Star Fox 64 3D HD VR!
I'm a simple man
I see jon
I like
Yippee! Jon videos are the best!
They really are,
He is the best presenter on here by far
Honestly, it probably sounds bad, but I only watch Jon’s videos on this channel.
3DS games being playable on the console would be great. Something I've been waiting for since the 2010s
I now love twilight princess more than ocarina of time and I still want switch ports of those
I also wish they'd do an HD remaster of mario galaxy 2 (the other game I wanted access to by buying a wii u).
Return to Dream Land Deluxe was officially referred to as a remake
Didn't expect to see Domon Kasshu from Mobile Fighter G Gundam in a Mii game!
Miitopia's character creator is the best. I'd love it if Nintendo stole Grezzo's homework and apply that Mii maker format to Switch 2 profiles and any/all future games that feature Miis.
My first 3ds game is Ocarina 3d, it just perfect and i still replaying it to this day
But grapics wise in my perspective Majora's 3d looks more stunning, the lighting effect feels too good for a 3ds game
I think Mario 64 deserves an honorable mention ::looks it up:: …..It’s a remake? The heck is the difference?!?
Zelda games on the WiiU and 3DS are amazing for the touchscreen inventory management.
(Slightly related: it’s a shame that they took out touchscreen controls for BOTW)
Clicked knowing full well Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition would be in this! So so good!
But it should be at the top together with Prime remaster, Jon was out of his mind on this ranking.
It’s kinda nuts how Jon is carrying this channel on his back
Jon, don't lie to us. Nintendo does not call Paper Mario TTYD a Remaster. They have officially said it is a remake in numerous sources.
Potato Potato
You about features in Zelda remasters
WWHD had camera feature added
TPHD had cave of shadow and amiibo
SSHD had full camera control and amiibo
OOT3D also had master quest and gautlet
I bought a couple of months back Super Mario Advance #4 like new on ebay because of how good that version is, thankfully the giy that sold it had the game really taken care of that like new was almost sealed. Until Mario Wonder came Super Mario Bros 3 was my favorite 2D Mario now it is on second place.
I just need the Zelda remasters on Switch Nintendo, what the hell are you doing?
wwhd, prime remastered, and xcde are peak
I only wish that Star Fox 64 3D had online multiplayer.
Wind Waker HD actually does have higher res textures than the GC version.
Metroid prime while having remade textures and lighting, it still uses the the same code and level geometry. A remake would be remaking everything from scratch
Hey everyone Jon here!
I need all 3D Zelda remasters on switch asap OOT & MM immediately
you forgot to mention the extra Kuribo shoe levels in Mario 3 GBA
Absolutely great list!
I still want the 3Ds Remasters of Ocarina and Majora on Switch.
Luigi’s Mansion 1 on 3DS missing is craazyyy
Nah that makes sense because it’s a downgrade to the GameCube original.
More of a sidegrade.
I literally got an add for the TTYD remake before you talked about it.
My only problem with Super Mario Advance 4 is the added voice clips. I got so fed up with constantly hearing "Just what I needed!".
I really like these weird little videos by John the Great 🍃
I personally love the Link's Awakening remake!
I can still play windwaker hd and twilight princess hd on Wii u I don't need them on switch what I want is OOT and MM 3d remastered on switch but instead we got Luigi's mansion 2
True as possible can be. Would love those on switch
Majora’s Mask 3D is great if you just install the Restoration mod lol.
And Xenoblade Chronicles DE the best remaster ever.
Whats your take on Luigis Mansion 1 for 3DS?
Narrate my life Jon
Ocarina of time decomp is great even tho it’s not official
