    The next time someone questions your fees, show them this video. It contains extremely valuable information that I am confident nobody knows that hasn’t lived there. I hope you held back some other tips and tricks for people who understand your worth. It is okay to lower your fees for certain people but don’t do it across the board. You will know by talking to people how much time you will need to hold their hand. More hand holding means higher charge. Less hand holding means less charge. Also consider ala carte services.

      Also, you should put your info together into a how to book or manual with testimonials. I haven't seen this much data from any other UA-camr. You're doing such a good job Mr. Cartess. I'm older so I can say I'm very proud of you sir!

    What I like about your videos is you give real life advice. No fluff, just real, useful info. We know Mexico is amazing, beautiful, people & food are fantastic. This stuff is what people need to know. Thank you!

    I've experience as a landlord, a renter and a real estate paralegal. This is the most comprehensive video on renting I've found on Merida rentals. I like your advice to go back at different times of day, to double check. Mexican people value a polite, thoughtful person put your best foot forward. Don't be afraid to ask for what you want. Also, I didn't know that here are no licensing requirements to be a 'real estate agent there. Hum. Thx great video.

    I so appreciate you for taking the time for this “detailed” run down. A lot of people are talking about the move and not necessarily giving this type of information. I can not wait to book my visit next month! Taking the actual class/ course to set myself up. Thank you!

    I live in Florida. HATE IT!! My rent takes 1/2 my pension!! And by next year....who knows? I was stressing about not getting a job so I can move!! Anxiety was 100% so I lay on the floor with feet in air.
    Got interview tomorrow. 🤞🏽🤞🏽
    If I get it, I will definitely send you a few $$. I was wondering how you pay the Uber. In $$ or pesos? 😂. I appreciate your advice!!

    • @MoveAbroadandThrive
      @MoveAbroadandThrive  Рік тому

      Hi ... Thanks for your support! Everything here is paid in pesos. However, my US debit card / credit card is attached to my Uber account. Whenever I order a ride, the cost is charged to my debit card and the banks convert the monies into Mexican pesos. You can also use your US debit card or credit card to withdraw money from the ATM machines here (and those funds will dispense out of the machine in Mexican pesos). Hope this makes sense. I may do a video on this topic, still seems a little confusing to many others.

    You are 100% correct. I do have a bank account to pay my rent and buy groceries etc online. I left the USA
    in 2021 at 79 for Queretaro for a safer and less expensive city, that is cool and clean.
    I do have my 6 months preps, and I help non beggars, and have my emergency fund, but I have never been greedy!

    Thanks for the informative video about Merida Mexico. Does Merida have high-rise /apartment condo buildings that have rentals? I do not like too much noise and would prefer to live in a high-rise apartment/condo building which mitigates some of the noise from the street.

    It's interesting that the house that you're in has no AC in the living room because I stayed in the house next door and it had it in the living room. If you don't speak the language then the best thing to do is to hire an assistant to do all of that communication for you. You are right when dealing with agents they won't negotiate on your behalf and even say the owners are unreasonable. The last place I finally settled in I got with an agent after I moved in and had to negotiate a few more things, the owners turned out to be extremely nice and very flexible people

    I did not have to put a deposit on my apartment, and can leave at anytime, for it is an AIRBNB. The supermarkets will deliver to your home, and do not charge, and do not want you to tip, but I tip my drivers who bring my groceries. I only wanted a small apartment at 79. All utilities and maids included, and gated community with 24 security, card entry, Fantastic view of Queretaro.
    I was born in Chicago in 1942, and have been visiting Mexico and the world since 1962. I have lived on Southside, downtown, Oak Park, Waukegan and Acapulco. Earthquakes were the deal breakers for Acapulco.
    I have been speaking Spanish as a second language since age 14.

    Question Cartess, could you set up your own estate agent service which provides for expats? or even just for Americans? (although anyone could use your service, but you could promote it that way for marketing and specialism purposes

    • @MoveAbroadandThrive

    Do you need some kind of co-signer on the lease?

    • @MoveAbroadandThrive
      @MoveAbroadandThrive  2 роки тому +3

      Some may require it. They call it an ‘Aval’. Usually if u don’t have one, you’ll pay double deposits. An aval is someone who must own property here and they’re signing on your behalf (like co-signer). Most will take a double deposit without an aval.
