    I certainly relate to your sentiments somewhat. There are characters I really want to like and root for, namely Sol, but my mistrust grows each episode, so I find myself intentionally reserving judgment of nearly every character until all is revealed at the end of the season. I’ve never watched a SW project like this, so it really is a unique and intriguing viewing experience.

    The material his helmet and gauntlet are made of is called cortosis. It’s an old metal from legends and a couple of canon comics that creates a feedback loop within lightsabers and disables them for a short time. Really cool to finally see it in live action

      @@AzulApe It is also in canon, it was in several comic series since 2014. It’s also in the canon thrawn alliances books. I said it’s been around since the 90’s, which it has. I thought one of the biggest complaints of these series was wanting them to show don’t tell? Are critical thinking skills really lacking enough now where people can’t go “oh i guess that material disables lightsabers for a second, cool” without it being spelled out like we’re in 2nd grade? You really need to try harder bud. Also, liking your own comment doesn’t make your argument better btw

    There's a lot of stuff that we can be upset with Disney SW about.... The Jedi being flawed/imperfect in their views and practices isn't one of them. Maybe it's more heavy-handed in its delivery, but ever since Ben Kenobi both declared that the Jedi were the guardians of peace, AND that he fought in the Clone Wars, let's just say I was suspicious by the seemingly contradictory statements. I still love Obi-wan, love Yoda, but as an organization, the Jedi Order was flawed in every iteration that has ever existed.

    • @Bayard1503
      @Bayard1503 2 місяці тому

      Well, but this is the High Republic, they should feel a little different... and not in a stupid way like here. But anyway, no matter the time period, the Jedi are always good, maybe misguided but always well meaning, in tune with the force, wise. Have you seen any character in this show that you would call wise?

    • @rdkirk3834
      @rdkirk3834 2 місяці тому

      @@rdkirk3834 touche. Lol technically true. My point is it demonstrates that Sol is a decent person; earnestly making an effort to live up to the Jedi standards (whatever his past failings may have been). Sol conscience is something Qimir repeatedly uses against him. Unless, of course Sol is a deeply undercover Sith Lord.

    • @rdkirk3834
      @rdkirk3834 2 місяці тому

      @@brettholcomb3763 Oh, I also see your point. If Sol were evil, he'd certainly want to kill Qimir rather than risk having the cover-up (if there is one) exposed. At this point, we've only had Mae claim anything to that end (and she's a proven psycho). If Qimir knows anything, it's either because he was there (and he's anti-Jedi, so he may have instigated it) or he heard it from Mae (and Mae is psychotic).

    • @Bayard1503
      @Bayard1503 2 місяці тому

      It's stupid, any Jedi that identifies someone as a Sith should kill him without any hesitation... A sith would be completely corrupted by the dark side, leaving him go guarantees he will go on an kill many other people. And this wouldn't make Sol in any way a bad guy. Anyway, the entire show is deconstructing the Jedi.... they're the villains.

  • @NerdChronic
    @NerdChronic 2 місяці тому +2

    At first I thought Sol was maybe caught in the middle of what happened on Brendock as an unfortunate bystander but now it does seem like he took some questionable actions.
    Overall I like the perspective from others that the Jedi order having a monopoly on how the force should be used can be seen as oppression. Even if they mean well, it comes off as policing to those who do not follow their ways.

    Something definitely happened with the Jedi and the witches but im not sure its fully the Jedi's fault. They said how the witches could get inside Jedi's heads this episode. I think its way more complicated than just the Jedi doing something shady. But we will see!

    I dont wan to say it.. but.. TOLD YOU SO! Quimir is such a bad ass - but yecki and yord my babies! And yes the jedi arent completely perfect. I also think the brendok thing isnt as clear cut as many seem to think, yes the jedi didnt handle it well but i think the witches also had a hand in the escalation that seems to have taken place. Also intriguied if we are going to see a shift between mae and osha, osha being turned by quimir and mae actually understanding the jedi side of what happened on brendok after sol explanation. I also asume that quimir is not a baneite sith and that the current bane line sith duo might show up in the finale to end quimirs chaos to avoid dectection by the jedi. And mae shifts totally make sense for someone with derp trauma, she went down that path bc she thougt she lost osha bust then she learns she didnt - so suddenly there is a chance for her to redeem herself - then her master kills kelnaqa and she knows the jedi will think it was her, si once more she lets desperation clouds her mind. And for your question - i dont think we are supposed to take sides - we are supossed to question things until we have the full picture

    Geez, every Jedi except Sol died. I thought we'd have Yord or Jecki longer, but they were BRUTAL making this episode. The show has not been good up until this point, but I just can't deny I actually enjoyed watching this. The lightsaber fighting felt very prequel-like. Very fast.

    Kelnacca no! We better get some action from him in a flashback or other stuff! And not just that comic he’s getting!
    The lightsabers shorted out because Qimir’s helmet and armor are made of cortosis. A metal that has a very high energy absorption. Like vibranium in Marvel, I guess.
    Jecki no! Damn hidden shoto saber!
    Yord no! Damn! The neck snap!
    I saw something important pointed out in response to Qimir’s whole “I wanna practice my Force religion without answering to the jedi.” (At least in the prequel era) The Jedi gladly allow different Force centric orders to exist and practice. The Dagoyan Order of the bardottans, the nightsisters and brothers, and others. It could very likely be that the training of children was the only issue (they were aware of) that they needed to investage Aniseya’s coven for. They don’t allow the Sith to exist, because most if not all the time, the Sith are trying to _take over the galaxy,_ and also the Force. Remember how Sidious and Dooku were responsible for the genocide of the nightsisters? The Sith don’t wanna share! Not even with themselves, they kill or always plot to kill each other! 😂

    Hey, Imon!
    EPISODE 4:
    Was looking forward to this lightsaber fight so I really disliked the tease.
    It's difficult to feel anything for anybody on this show because the writing is so vague and everyone's motivations seem so nebulous.
    What did the witches do that earned them exile?
    How did they create life?
    How did Osha know enough about the Jedi to aspire to be one?
    If Mae tried to kill her sister, why blame the Jedi?
    What happened to all the witches and why do the Jedi feel guilty about it?
    Why was Kelnacca studying the witch glyphs?
    If Mae tried to kill her sister, why the sudden change of heart to reconnect and face justice?
    Why would Vernestra summon the team to Coruscant knowing Kelnacca is in danger?
    How did the Jedi get there on the heels of Mae who left directly for Khofar after their long detour to Coruscant?
    Why does Osha not want to reconnect with her long-lost sister?
    Lee Jung-jae is the best thing in the show.
    Manny Jacinto is a close second.
    Dafne Keen is the third.
    I don't blame any of the other actors. Stenberg and Turner-Smith are beautiful women, likable and have acquitted themselves well in other projects. It's not their fault their characters are underwritten and self-contradictory.
    Charlie Barnett may know nothing of Star Wars but he plays arrogant stupidity and insecurity well enough that he's amusing rather than insufferable.
    The pronoun discussion about Bazil was eye-rolling woke claptrap that deserved the Gina Carano beep-bop-boop reply.
    Having Ki-Adi-Mundi appear as part of the Small Council either breaks continuity with the Prequels or intimates that he lies to Yoda and Windu in "Phantom Menace".
    Extending his lifespan to fit him into the story retcons long-established lore which is sloppy.
    Apparently, Vernestra's incompetent behavior and prickly personality are at variance with her High Republic comics iteration albeit those stories are set earlier in her life when she was a Padawan.
    Suspects for The-Sith-Who-Laughs are:
    Qimir
    Coril
    Aniseya
    Tenebrous
    Leslye Headland
    EPISODE 5:
    Some cool lightsaber action and brutal deaths will not be enough to salvage this mess! Headland really stepped in it now!
    I loved the double skewer and decapitation move!
    I loved the shoto saber hidden in the hilt of Qimir's regular lightsaber!
    I loved the triple Jecki stab and the Yord neck-snap!
    I loved Cortosis armor and its ability to short out lightsabers being salvaged from the dustbin of Legends!
    Mae's motivations are muddled and changed by the minute! Her character makes no sense anymore!
    Mae's masquerade will be foiled as soon as the forehead marking becomes visible or Pip's absence is noticed. What is she thinking?
    How does Sol not know it's Mae? Can't he feel she's not his former Padawan?
    Qimir was the obvious suspect so no big surprise but I was amazed at how jacked Manny Jacinto's arms were!
    He said he's a Sith to the Jedi so unless everybody left dies and/or covers this up, the lore is officially broken!
    Where is Darth Tenebrous?
    What is Sol's dark secret?
    I will miss Dafne Keen.
    Lee Jung-jae remains the best thing on this show.
    Manny Jacinto was truly menacing as The-Sith-Who-Laughs.
    Headland has painted herself into a corner and it will be interesting to see her dig herself out.

Hxh should tell you why gon father left or it’s bad writing. Any contradictions not immediately explained are bad??? All of your questions are answered in like 1 extra hour of watching. Also tons of your issues sound like UA-camr hate bait videos. Are you sure all of that was your issues. Like the comment about not liking her asking what the thing was i guess every time I ask what a dog is I’m baiting. She was confused what the alien was. If you never saw aliens you wouldn’t assume it’s a boy. That particular alien she never saw before. In Star Wars not every alien is a boy or girl or something else. They can be just a blob for example. Being mad at that proves you’re likely overly sensitive and nothing would make this good to you. But I’ll give you credit unlike most haters you said the fights were good and I’ve seen hater vids that made the excuse they can’t see it so it’s bad overlooking creative plot positioning your not supposed to see it at that moment it’s chaos like waking up in d day after passing out opening of a film. Or sukuna vs that 😈 summon. People want it there way but I let creatives create and decide if I like it when it’s done being digested. Saying it’s all bad is like reading 1 chapter of Harry Potter and saying it has no story imo. That said to each their own. I agree it’s not good but for different reasons. Overall acting and pacing issues. Along with filming choices. Not culture war 💩

      @Rocket1377 2 місяці тому

      Darth Plagueis created Anakin, not the Force itself. Palpatine explains this in Revenge of the Sith, "he (Plagueis) discovered a ways to influence the midichlorians to create life (Anakin)". Acolyte has ruined this one-of-a-kind moment by claiming that someone else did the same thing several generations earlier, which not only makes Anakin less special, but also means that Palpatine was wrong in his belief that Plagueis is the only person who had this ability.
      This show is literally retconning material that George Lucas created.

    • @IrrelevantPerson
      @IrrelevantPerson 2 місяці тому +2

      @@Rocket1377 Lol. Plagueis didn’t create anything. I’ve read the books personally. He and Sidious utilized Sith alchemy along with other experiments (called The Great Experiment) to try to disrupt balance in the force. As a reaction to this, the living force created a being to counteract the darkness, this being Anakin. Sidious was and always has been manipulating Anakin in the moment you mention. It was even this way in legends, the old plageuis novels explain exactly this. Here’s a summary online: “Plagueis concluded that not only had the midi-chlorians resisted his will, but they had also retaliated by engineering the conception of the Jedi Order's long-awaited Chosen One, a Jedi destined to restore balance to the Force by destroying the Sith”. You can even check the old novelizations. What you’re describing is close to an incorrect interpretation spread around the internet of a vision that Vader had in a comic from 2018, which was planted by Sidious to further manipulate him. The writers of that comic even specified that no, the Sith did not create Anakin, and that yes, it was the will of the force that created him. To go a little further, plagueis never had the power to actually create life, in legends or canon. The most he could do was bring someone back to life. (Not to break your heart any more, but we’ve already had a canon story of a witch creating a child with magik from years ago) Any questions from the class?

How is a monster basically carrying aka sorta insinuated the same as anakin. Anakin was set in motion for balance same way Star Wars 7 explains the girl getting so powerful so fast because the balance was off set and she was able to use it more easily. People cry cause she’s a woman and automatically assumed Mary sue but she made plenty of mistakes. I don’t like the 9th film but not for the internet nitpicks. More for pacing and story choices to cater to those who hated 8 in hindsight cause the culture war started around then.
