By popular request from my last video, it's clear people wanted to see the power of the Rewind Rounds Outbreak, and after having used it today, it's actually spectacular! The reason for this is because the nanites count as instances of weapon damage and therefore proc Rewind Rounds far sooner leading to many magazine reloads, in fact, if you craft it with Extended Mag you won't have to reload at all (in a 10 second window) since we never did in any of our Templar tests. This weapon will only become stronger as well, because if you factor in the 10% kinetic damage loss but ADD the 20% buff to bosses you get an additional 8% damage to bosses than it's doing now, so definitely keep one of these around for emergency DPS in the next day one raid!

the one benefit outbreak has over touch is super regen since regen is based on the number of damage instances (includes nanites).
And also, yknow the fact outbreak does way more damage

it's mainly intended as a team based weapon (even in D1 it was), and as you can see from this video, when playing into its niche, it does a crazy amount of damage for a primary.
This isn't anything new though: before auto-loading abilities were nerfed, Outbreak was one of the most effective damage options available

from a risk / reward perspective, I kinda think the gun that literally tries to kill you should probably top out the primary dps chart, but oh well. the only area where malice is better is in solo / low-man when less nanites can be actively maintained, but at this point I’m reeeaaally reaching ( just commit to an exotic heavy / swap lucky pants lmao).

Same way i feel when i do 7 mil on crota while fkn up combos and my team barely does 3.5 on swords.
I’ve always like touch of malice more but it’s good to see outbreak being the best primary again, it’s like we’ve come full circle from Destiny 1 lol
note that for optimal outbreak dps you ideally want every person on your team having it equipped. for emergency last-stands you might have some people with a couple of sniper rounds left, or maybe someone got lucky on heavy drops and has a bunch of rockets. in these situations touch of malice _might_ be better? im not entirely sure, would have to individually test 5, 4, and 3 man outbreak dps for comparisons, but its just something to keep in mind when comparing these 2 guns
Touch of malice also is better with several so it shoudnt matter still use the break
If you are actually entirety out of special and heavy, final warning beats both. For long range bosses like oryx everyone typically uses whisper anyway, which needs like a full minute of DMG to run out of ammo.

I love outbreak in gm content when pulse rifles are a stun weapon especially overload or barrier it actually doesn’t surprisingly well with only 3 people and the infinite primary is really nice cause you can use other ammo for clearing adds
The health drain on oryx when you use outbreak is so fun to look at 💀
Interested to see how this shakes out in the new update. Like, I know with how juiced Pulses are getting that Outbreak is just going to win hands down, but that lingering debuff on touch lasting a proper 3.5 seconds instead of 2 seems like something that might actually help it still be 'close'.
Unfortunately, scouts aren't allowed to be good in destiny ever (unless they are polaris lance applying scorch every hit, and even then it's reaching), but glad Pulses are going to be allowed to pick up the long range slack at least. Outbreak especially!
Since nanites count towards rewind rounds, that should mean headseeker should also work. With a higher crit multiplier that stacks with the nanite multiplier, it could be better than rewind. Would you be interested in testing that out? :0

I know it’s a big ask, but could you do Outbreak vs all raid encounters? King’s Fall seems laughably easy now with current Outbreak. I’m curious to see how it fairs against all the raid bosses. And then laugh even more when it becomes easier in the Final Shape with that 15% boss damage buff.

So could this be the new noob stick for raids? I saw teams doing less damage with heavy and rockets than you 6 pressing left click with this gun the whole time. I'm curious to see the difference between raid (6 people) and dungeon environment (3 people).
I've used it in dungeons already, it alsmot always is a 3 phase rotation and final stands are a bit tight, the notable one was warlords where the meatball final stand went on for a while a decent amount of time but still did 2 rotations on the boss, the other bosses were a lot harder to just outbreak due to thier nature but was still OK

Rewind for DPS, rapid hit for using as a primary. I have one of each lol

34,017 appr. damage per burst when outbreak is fully ramped up. Not bad for a primary
And it's also bugged, so if the bug is fixed it will be a little better
For those who don't know what I mean, Rewind Rounds on Outbreak is bugged and doesn't always trigger
You can see this clearly in the video:
-He starts with a magazine of 45 and comes to 30 after Rewind Rounds
- Then from 30 to 18
- And then from 18 to 0
He ended up getting 9/12 shots back, but Rewind Rounds didn't activate
Saw another video where he tested it solo against GoA Oger and he had shot 30 shots and got nothing back from Rewind Rounds
It's just a little bit bugged

Plust Outbreak is getting a 20% dmg buff compared to ToM. ToM should really have more dps for being a gun that dmg's you. ToM might not even be viable for dps regardless of Outbreak due to the massive Well nerfs, it'll need a buff to compete with Outbreak
Only 10% against bosses since it's losing that bonus kinetic damage on bosses

I have good dps load outs I’m just kinda scared of raids
Now we know outbreak does great damage BUT Touch of malice will get your super back quicker since you are taking damage and dealing damage at the same time at a high rate. So dont forget to super when using touch or outbreak :D

see the only problem with this is that you guys aren't consistently applying the 50% debuff from the shadow blight on touch of malice. it only lasts 2 seconds right now (3.5 in TFS) so you have to have 2 people doing it interchangably
I mean they are buffing touch of malice, but they are also buffing outbreak…
Malice is getting an overall nerf while Outbreak is getting a huge buff. Malice desperately needs Well levels of healing to be viable for boss dps, but Well is getting it's healing reduced by 50% and it's DR reduced by 75%. Even if Malice was in a vacuum without Outbreak, there's a good chance it won't be usable for boss DPS anymore
Real shame TOM is the least viable raid exotic
If you get the intrinsic upgrade for outbreak you can use extended mag and get 44 in the mag.

i feel likew there buffing pulses cause red death is coming back, they havnt even teased it, but we know its coming, i hope they add something spicy to it. its likely they will tone outbreak because that damage is a bit, crazy. via nanites, im okay with it either way, but i know some streamer try hard will cry to bungie begging for some cbt, and testicular torsion.

Touch of Malice probably more dps cause the blight gives a 5 second dmg boost for all weapons of sorrow, and the blight got buffed. And witherhoard buffs the dmg.

Right now ToM gives a 2 second dmg boost, and it's getting increased to 3.5 seconds, don't know where you got 5. Also witherhoard doesn't buff ToM dmg, it's the other way around, not that you should be using witherhoard while everyone else has ToM on. Lastly, Well of Radiance is getting a massive nerf. There's a large chance using a weapon that kills you is not going to be a viable DPS weapon anymore.
@@gamingoverlord8854 ToM is my favorite weapon, why? Its good with neocrotics, it deals arc damage all Weapons of Sorrow gets a dmg increase while the enemy is under the blight debuff. And it stuns unstoppable champions. Outbreak is better for add clear but the dmg of outbreak a bit slower after about 4-6 precision hits after each burst the damage comes first. I like both, both are good but I like the ToM more.
Outbreak being better mathematically makes a ton of sense. It’s a little dissatisfying though in my opinion.

I mean, watching you shoot is interesting. But in a video based on which weapon is better, it would be real helpful if we could see the scoreboards at the end and see what kinda damage was done.

Btw...appended mag with rewind rounds is better than extended mag because it doesn't effect your reload speed and you only lose 1 shot
Rock a kinetic loader or stand in a Luna well.
@@bedopskepop7936 or....just use a different mag...so you can reload significantly faster even if youre not doing all that. 1 mag frees up a mod slot and an exotic slot
iirc extendo mag is a - reload stat modifier not an anim scalar so yeah actually luna will just solve that problem, since luna sets you to 100 reload stat anyways.(and gives a 0.9x anim scalar) edit : and what I mean by this is that you should be using luna anyways, no excuse not to, dodge reloads don't actually speed up reloads vs manual loads at all on things like primaries as their base reload times are much shorter than that of smth like a rocket, especially when you factor in the reaim time on certain harder to hit bosses and etc.
@@COREcasual if you’re not using Lunas when using outbreak for dps then you’re just throwing anyways. It’s not a free exotic slot if it’s being used in the first place
@@bedopskepop7936 you're using heavy when you're in a well.... by the time your going to use outbreak, it's because you've run out of heavy so you're likely not going to be in a well anymore.
If you're using outbreak for boss damage... you're throwing. It's used for backup damage when you run out of heavy... and it's LITERALLY ONE shot you're losing... and then you don't have to have all the other stuff to make it viable

The only way outbreak is better than Touch is if the entire fireteam are running the exotic. If not, Touch really single handedly carries the entirety of the Primary DPS charts… specially with necrotic grips, an exotic that wasn’t even taken into account into this dps differences 🥱
