What was the pile of extra parts?

I didn’t assemble the helmet, cargo box, or bouquet of flowers accessories. It also appears that LEGO’s pick and place packing errs on the side of giving some extra small pieces. Over all I was amazed at how nicely organized everything was. The printed manual is a masterpiece.
