I went to a concert in 2010 that had a bunch of rock bands, including Rob Zombie. I had low expectations for his part of the concert. I thought it was just going to be seeing him sing his songs, and thought it wasn't even going to sound as good. I was blown away at how good his show was. He was on top of a pyramid that rolled out onto stage, there was porn playing on the screens behind him, and a godzilla style monster battle was happening on stage while Rob Zombie was rockin out. That was the most bad ass shit I've ever seen.
When I saw him he had fire breathing dragons behind him on stage, epic af. Joey Jordison from Slipknot was his touring drummer at that time which was badass too.
As a teenager in St. Louis, I got tickets to a Megadeth concert- didn’t even care who was opening, but here was the playbill: 1. White Zombie 2. Pantera 3. Megadeth My friend Brian and I were like, “I guess we could wander around concessions while these unknown openers are playing, but we don’t need any T-shirts, so let’s see what they’re up to.” Our surprise/giddiness cannot be accurately quantified.
I finally got to see Rob live last week and it was my daughter's first concert. Such an awesome show you could feel his energy it was perfect for my daughters first concert
Same, i saw him at Rocklahoma and it was fucking amazing. Honestly not even too into his music, but he was the highlight of the festival. He was incredible
I got to meet Rob when I was a kid at a music video shoot "never gonna stop" and he and his wife were the nicest people I EVER met. I grew up listening to his music and that video shoot was one of the greatest experiences of my life!!!
@@huliniswhoiam I wasn't involved in it it at all. The stage manager was the uncle of a family friend. Originally my mom was invited to go meet Ozzy Osbourne cause Ozzy was supposed to be filming with Rob Zombie. It was a bday present for her and I got to tag along. When we went I was a huge White Zombie fan, so I was shocked Rob Zombie was there!!!! There were sets the size of bedrooms all over the stage room about the size of a school auditorium. Rob Zombie actually came and greeted me my mom and shook our hands. He then introduced his wife to me and I got to tell him I was a huge White Zombie fan. Eventually that day I met everyone in the videos between smoking cigarettes and me running to get them drinks. It was better than any concert experience I've ever had.
I remember seeing Rob at a record store in Toronto back in the 90's, and he was loaded with movies and CD's. Everything from KISS to Disney's Cinderella.
Hearing Zombie say he was shy, and Joe saying the same, gives me massive confidence. I have always been the same way & it's awesome to see my idols are similar.

Joe is a master interviewer. But he's that way because he's real and he has so many interests. He's so conversational that it all seems so natural and I guess it really is. I'm never bored with Joes podcasts. I just need to start watching earlier in the evening. 10 minutes til 4am. And I "wake up" at 6 to get ready for work. But worth it. Especially since I've been a Rob Zombie fan since forever both his music and his movies.
I was lying in bed one night watching MTV back in 94'-95' I believe and the video Thunder Kiss 65' came on and I was hooked!. Blew me away. I was 22 years old and to that point it was the coolest, hardest rock video/song I've seen. Been a fan of all his work from then on.
My daddy always said you have to learn from other people's mistakes, cause none of us are ever gonna live long enough to make them all ourselves. I took that shit to heart!
Funny story about House of 1000 Corpses, as a Rob and White Zombie fan, I followed the news, and the film just wasn't being released. Even saw videos of him talking on stage about the release of the film at the time. Finally found a $1 theater showing it, called my buddy, and we drove an hour to see the film. Both of us loved it. I know Rob won't ever read this but it's a tribute to how much his fans love and respect what he does.
Best show I’ve ever seen was Rob Zombie. I was always a fan but after seeing them live they became one of my favorites. A lot of bands you can tell they don’t give a shit about the audience but Robs whole band really interact with the crowd & put on an amazing show. I’ve seen them a bunch of times & each time was amazing.
Agreed 100% i am guessing Joe or Rob had to get their ass in gear, (Rob's movie opening and the need to be present somewhere makes the most sense) because that was a great Podcast, the conversation was interesting, Joe was not ready to stick a fork in his eyes (ala Dan "WTF are you on right now dude" Akroid) and neither was i, and i am guessing that I am not alone in sharing Brian's positive feedback from this podcast. 3 hours at least without any boring bullshit at the very least. So ummm Joe "I never read the comments" Rogan, i hope you get the message and have Mr. Z back in. Lastly, i am guessing that your partners in crime here in podcast land, Diaz and maybe Ari, and Burr who does not have guests on except on the rare occasion when perhaps a hard rock musician might be someone that Burr would be stoked to have on. Now we just have to think of such a guest for Billy Freckles!
Saw Rob Zombie live this summer, Saturday at Download festival, before Slipknot. Then Smashing Pumpkins on Sunday followed by TOOL. Was a dope af weekend.
Daniel, yep. Years ago, I was living in Phoenix, at the time that Rob Halford decided to retire and he lived in Phoenix for a while. I met him at a club one night, my band was opening for another, and the buzz went through the crowd "Yo! Rob HALFORD's here!" I knew I had to speak with him, and when I actually got the chance, I was absolutely amazed at his (1) intelligence (VERY smart guy, Brit education) and (2) his gentle manner of speaking. I was completely taken aback. Super nice guy. I hope he's still doing well.
You actually get scared of horror movies I don't think I've ever been scared by horror movie unless you count cheap jump-scares which don't count because that's just instincts
Never would I had guessed Rob Zombie was such a die hard hockey fan, I would've loved to have seen his Broadstreet Bully film prevail. I could watch the documentaries on that team for days.
I love Rob Zombie.. I'm glad he's not a big hollywood sell out making mediocre films. He makes horror movies for horror fans, not for the masses. Can't wait to see 3 from hell!
This is one of the most enjoyable Joe Rogans Podcasts I've listened to in years. Not sure if I just really am impressed about how normal Rob Zombie is or just because there seemed to be no ego and I related or were interested in the topics so much
It just came across as natural not “I am here to ask you 15 questions about your new album and try to get you to say something outrageous before you kick me out or my time is up. Then the next guy sits down and asks you the same 15 questions”
What makes rob so great is he doesnt boast about his achievements, he is so chilled and collected, been a huge fan of robs work and as a horror director he just gets it, take a real look at robs back drops in his movie's, they just ooze the macabre

And I just tried to give all his movies another chance again his fucking whole bullshit trilogy whatever the fuck he called it the only one that was semi-decent was Devil's Rejects but that's still a stretch to say. His Halloween remakes we're probably among the worst movies I've ever seen. I'd watch the Busta Rhymes Halloween 10 times in a row before watching his bullshit

He puts on an amazing show that's for sure the concert I saw they had giant robots playing war drums
When I saw him he had fire breathing dragons behind him on stage, epic af. Joey Jordison from Slipknot was his touring drummer at that time which was badass too.

As a teenager in St. Louis, I got tickets to a Megadeth concert- didn’t even care who was opening, but here was the playbill:
1. White Zombie
2. Pantera
3. Megadeth
My friend Brian and I were like, “I guess we could wander around concessions while these unknown openers are playing, but we don’t need any T-shirts, so let’s see what they’re up to.”
Our surprise/giddiness cannot be accurately quantified.

Lastly, i am guessing that your partners in crime here in podcast land, Diaz and maybe Ari, and Burr who does not have guests on except on the rare occasion when perhaps a hard rock musician might be someone that Burr would be stoked to have on.
