Very nice! SIO is very underrated. One (1) small connection, at the time of commenting this, he hourglass thing wasn’t an accident. SIO wanted to release Hourglass love but couldn’t, and they wanted a tribute to their fans, so when Maxx brought up the idea of switching the symbol, visuals, and aesthetic to a darker hourglass, the band was all for it ;)
Fun fact: as their Elsewhere album was nearly released, they posted on social media to tell fans (like myself and others) to pre-order said album, that was new at the time. Little did I know it would come in with an email notification. And it wasn't just saying, "Hey! Thanks for pre ordering our album!", but it also came with an invitation to a zoom party with karaoke and a meet and greet. In classic self-proclaimed fashion, I ducked out. Since I had no idea it came with an invitation to MEET THE BAND OVER ZOOM, it completely threw me off. But not in a bad way, of course. I was excited at first, but I was so nervous that I couldn't attend. I did tell a family member and a former coworker who is an avid fan of SIO about this, and they both said the same thing, which was basically, "Why did you duck out like that!?" or "You should've though!". But nonetheless, I've always wanted to go to one of their tours/concerts. I haven't had great concert experiences in the past(well, technically, only one), but it's been something I've literally been dreaming about, and only one of them were a little intricate. Anyway, love the band, love their music, chemistry between members, and awesome fanbase. Couldn't have gone through all the rough shit I've been through without them, 10/10, would hug Cody again. In a dream, I mean.
It's insane to see how much they grown, just like with bands like Icon For Hire and Glass Animals, I remember them being considered underrated. I got into SIO when duality dropped and was my entry into the music scene, and months ago I finally got to meet Cody which was the best thing ever

AAAAA I LOVE SET IT OFF, my fav song is Swan Song for personal reasons I don't think we wanna talk about lmao. It was amazing to see them live on January 14th, it was my first time ever going to a concert. It was an early birthday present for me. Projector dropped on my actual birthday, January 21st, I was so happy najsjwhehe. Set It Off has been my biggest inspiration for so long! My dream is to create real music someday. I want people to look up to me the same way I look up to people like them. Their music got me through a lot. I feel like I owe them a really big hug. I recently started my own band with my friends, originally, I was supposedly to do drums, but instead I'm doing vocals because I'm the only one who can. I still think my voice has a lot of growing to do, and everyone else can grow a little as well, but it's gonna be fun to learn together. Recently, our bass player left because they didn't want to be a part of it anymore and discovered something else that they wanted to pursue, which is completely fine. I have a friend who agreed to play for us. They can't play bass, but would like to learn. But I appreciate them so much for helping us. We haven't released any music because we literally just started last month. We're working on music but my older sister who has written music and promised to help us is currently in the hospital, unfortunately. But looking at this video has encouraged me a little bit. I feel like there were so many times where they should have just given up, but they didn't. It's payed off for them. They all are doing what they love, even to this day. I admire their passion and perseverance for what they do. I absolutely love the relationship they have with there fans as well. One day, I hope I could tour with them. Starting my band was a scary thing for me, I didn't know if it would work out, or if these people had the same passion that I do, and that this is what they really wanted. I've been writing down song lyrics left and right, and coming up with new ideas. A lot of shitty things have heppned to me lately, and it's really gave me a lot of new ideas. I'm terrified of failure, but really exited for what this could be. Anyways thanks for listening to my ted talk :p
never give up!! the number one thing that ends bands is just giving up. if you keep pushing past all the obstacles you’ll make it one day !!! good music and passion will always pay off in the end !! good luck :) and i’m glad my video could inspire you so much!!
Fantastic video, it's cool to see Set It Off's history, especially from before I was a fan! I do miss the Horrible Kids/Cinematics days though, those records were my high school soundtrack.
Set It Off was my first rock band ever and I still have yet to see them live 😭 was gonna see them in 2020 but nope! I hope I'll be able to see them in Texas with their upcoming tour!

In case you (or someone else reading this comment) hasn’t read their Midnight table book that they released in late 2020, they talk about how their management AND booking agency left them around the same time. That was at the end of the Upside Down era, which is basically where the Midnight era began. Since I’m commenting after the release of Elsewhere, what do you think of Elsewhere? Do you still think that Midnight is their best album?
i have listened to all of elsewhere and in my opinion midnight is still my favorite!! but that’s also nostalgia talking because it was my first album i heard from them :) however elsewhere is probably my third favorite album behind midnight and duality for me personally there’s a lot of hit or miss songs on it !! i really the three singles as well as playing with bad luck and better than this!! overall i think it’s a good release from them :) and the promotion around the album has been great too
I’m watching your video on Waterparks next and I’ll watch the others, too, even though I don’t know those bands so well. I’d like to learn more about them, and your channel seems like a good place to do that. :)
