Good to see you again Bob. Welcome back 👍👍👍
Didn't really go anywhere. Just letting my existing videos cook in the system a bit.

Thanks!
Thank you very much for your generosity.
I think what frustrated me with the Hamilton lineup is that it seemed impossible to find the design I wanted in the size I wanted. 38mm seems too small for me, and with the long lugs and large dials, the 42mm seems too large. (And they only intermittently do 40mm).
But, as a guy who likes both day and date on a watch, I did buy the "day-date" model with the day at 12:00, and date at 6:00. I found it the most aesthetically pleasing...but had to deal with the 42mm size. I do like it....but it just doesn't find as much time on my wrist that a 40mm might.....
Thanks for sharing your experience. Sounds like it was similar to how I felt about the Kahki I had and sold.
Hamilton and seiko are my favorite brands althou i do have a few other watches in other brands
What other brands do you have ?
Great video explaining all the different Hammy field watches. Now that I own a 38mm Khaki Mechanical, I really think it’s in a league of its own. So slim and “barely there”, it just keeps accurate time and stays out of the way - the essence of a tactical watch. I have a 9” wrist and don’t find it too small at all. The long lug-to-lug really does make it wear more like 40mm and in any case, field watches should be low profile and not big flashy dinner plates like divers and fliegers.
On the issue of quartz, yes, absolutely quartz movements are legit for field watches. We could start with the fact that every actual military issued watch since at least the 80’s has been quartz. But more importantly, field watches are ideally supposed to be simple and reliable without any bells and whistles. In the year 2023, that means quartz.
Good points. Thanks for sharing
Out of curiosity, have any new models come out that are better for the under 1000 range? I’m in the market for a one (all purpose / versatile) automatic watch under 1000 that I can wear with both sports attire looks and in the office (casual chic). Wedding / black tie is not so much required but it’s nice if with strap changes you can make all 3 work :)
Appreciate any suggestions!
My wrist size is 17cm and I really value day to day wearing comfort (forget I’m wearing a watch kind of thing)
Are you looking only for a Hamilton field watch? I haven’t heard of them launching anything new lately but they might have
@@adventureswithtime I’m open to anything under or around the 1000 EUR range.
Mainly looking for quality, longevity and versatility in the 1K range.
@@pietersoetaert6625 there are many. Perhaps the Mido Ocean Star GMT
Have a special place for the Breitling Aviator 8 Day Date, too.
Interesting watch. I'd have to see it in person to get a feel for the watch.
