The way you explain and simplify is immaculate.

Finally! Some one that can actually break down the nuances into an easy to understand process.
Not taking away from other coaches or players that coach.
But this is some of the best coaching content I’ve come across!

Great lesson on stagger. I used to stagger too much and once i brought it in it helped get my hips involved easier.

This is my favorite video so far! I'm guilty of being too staggered and never thought that it might be hurting my power.

This is super helpful! I have been focusing on slowing down my run up a lot and I’m seeing my last step seems too short but when I try to extend it further I over brace and fall back. Super informative!

As a very new subscriber I have watched a few of your videos. I really like your teaching method. Simple and easy to understand and relate to making it easier to learn and implement.
Looking forward to reviewing more of your content. Well done.

Thanks a lot, I'm throwing all standstill for the foreseeable future but this will help soon! Really eye opening when you go to stand still and don't lose distance. Thanks, you're changing my game.

Can't wait for that workout program! Some recent health changes for me have really inspired me into working out (Down 35 pounds so far and seeing muscles I have not seen in years). I would LOVE to also incorporate a workout program based upon functionality for Disc Golf!

I like that you showed what pose to hold and then "feel" out where the right foot needs to be. I have just been going haphazard on the random footwork for a while experimenting and now I have something that is standardized yet customized to my body. I'll have to give it a try next weekend!
As a side note, I would love to see you throw some blizzard champ discs to see how they fly for you. I started out buying all max weight and have been seeing improvements moving down to the 155-165g mark for fairways and distance drivers. Thanks again for a great informative video.

Big wig said nobody should be throwing over 170 for distance in an interview somewhere. So you are not alone!

Thanks for another awesome video, so much sense here.
I would add that when doing an x-step it's almost physical impossible to not plant with at least some stagger. Or rather if you don't you are probably opening your hips early and also probably planting your foot open to the target.

Really looking forward to that fitness / workout video. I have been going to the gym 3 times per week for about 1 month now. Seeing good results but I would love to do something that will make me healthy. And help with my Discgolf experience. It would be a great motivator if my workouts translate into better Discgolf in general. Great videos ! Can’t wait until I’m outside the office to try this one out.

Do you brace against the front foot and spin on the back foot like in baseball swing? I've been doing that and I'm throwing farther. I feel way more compact and no back pain. For the past 7 years, I've been planting my front foot pointing forward so obviously opening hips too early without a brace. I've been bringing the back leg around like a barn door opening. Viedoing myself has revealed a lot of errors.

How straight should the brace leg be? Also do you shift/unload on heel quite quickly or you should hold onto the energy a little bit?

  • @markhumphrey8894

I'm learning a lot about the brace from you. I have a question: when I coil back I feel the stretch in the coil, however should we have the same tension when we uncoil?
I've never really thought of that in the past, but it makes sense. I would think that you could be more compact and together in the "unwind" and could probably throw it a lot farther without even trying. I think I use too much shoulder pull on my uncoil. Thanks

Depends on way too many factors to answer directly.

been trying for 10 minutes to "feel" the stretch in my abs, cant feel anything. No tension at all. Maybe I just lack the muscles lol, time to do some core training (:

Watching this for another(of many) times, Clint, would you say that you're a player that shapes the throw for the shot needed, or, do you choose a disc for the shot shape? I ask because I would imagine its easier to maintain the same throw rather than trying to change your plant etc for shots.

    • @BlitzDG
      @BlitzDG  7 місяців тому +1

It's a bit of both, but I'd prefer to throw my stock hyzer on everything if I had infinity discs of different shapes!

Still loving the coaching. I'm still working on Phase 1-2 of the pseudo one leg/stand still and I fear for my planting ankle. When I try too hard I roll/fold it as if my weight is in front of my ankle, but when I think about keeping my weight back, I'm not weighting my front foot enough to stay planted and I bail out to stand on my rear leg. I think I need to use my abs and bend at the waist more to keep my weight over my front foot, but then I am scared of rolling my ankle again. Any suggestions?

    That freeze frame 😂
I filmed a few throws the other day and noticed that I have a SEVERE ballerina back leg; like sometimes hitting my throwing hand on the follow through. So perfectly timed video as per usual!

Instagram for in person coaching. I am not doing online coaching currently. That may change in the future!
