The guy who escaped North Korea is a absolute coward. He left his wife and two children who he brought into this world to fend for themselves in a ruthless country.
TurtleBeacher I believe he escaped North Korea to South Korea and then left his family in South Korea to go to the US. So, no, he did not leave them in North Korea.
TurtleBeacher that’s how it’s been done the whole time people have been coming to America. They send the man over and he gets a job and finds residence then he sends for his family.

there is something beautiful about seeing people from different races and ethnicity and diverse backgrounds getting along, and bonding with each other over something that seems to be so silly to many others. It seems like the world is so divided political and accusations of racism, at least on the internet. Its very refreshing to see everyone so happy to just do something they enjoy. If there was more passion about silly things in the world, perhaps people could get along more. connecting with someone different than yourself and seeing them as another human and not just a black man, or a white or asian man, or republican or democrat, we could all just be whistlers someday.
I can't whistle. Never could. One day, during a visit to the doctor about snoring, he noticed that my tongue's frenulum (the little stringy fiber that connects my tongue to the bottom of my mouth) was unusually far forward. As it turns out, I'm not simply bad at whistling, I am actually physically incapable of it. Thanks, science!

Well im able to whistle with tongue pushed down as far as it goes or to the top, I can even whistle with food inside my mouth so idk how that thing is stopping you from whistling
TheL aw yes because pushing your tongue as far down as you can or as far as it can go to the top will definitely move their frenulum forward to allow for whistling. wow dude, thanks for your wise wisdom and guidance.

Whistling is such a lost art. When someone is whistling it creates a peacefulness. A hostile environment can be diffused by whistling. My dad was a very beautiful whistler. He could do bird. Songs and lovely toons. Whenever I hear someone whistling nicely I always thank them and encourage them.

There’s a whistler busker in London’s underground - mostly in St Paul’s station I think - and he would always lift my spirits and make me smile. I couldn’t whistle at all my whole life, when I saw him at 24. He inspired me to try again, and with his radiating positivity in mind, I learned too! I’m nowhere near as good as he is, but one day, alongside a few coins, I left him a note saying I’d learned because of him. I’ve adored whistlers since.
MarklarsonTube I know him!!! He was a patient at the pharmacy I used to work at. Extremely nice guy. He used to walk around the pharmacy waiting area whistling the same tune from the video which I thought was really beautiful and soothing.
I used to live in Louisburg!! The Whistlers Convention has since shut down due to the death of the gentleman who organized it (the man at 2:47) Mr. De Hart was a huge part of the Louisburg community, funding and organizing a lot of big events. (If you ever visit, be sure to check out the beautiful De Hart Botanical Gardens, which was named after him due to his major contributions to it!) Louisburg is a small town full of incredible people, and you could probably make several documentaries about it. It's full of history, too! If you're ever nearby, be sure to check it out!!
I was able to whistle like these guys since I was a child and I was always wondering about this profession. I could definitely compete with some of them for sure
I hope the north korean man is alive and well. That's a crazy story! Also does anyone know why he left his wife and children to come to the US? I know he left his parents at NK when he was 15 to escape, but he didn't really say why he left his kids and wife (in, most likely, a different country). Also that was amazing! Great story and editing!
6:55 Sean Lomax was/is in Cirque Du Soleil show “Corteo”. I first saw him in the show in 2007?. He is incredible. Most recently saw him this year 2018 as the show returned as an arena tour. He has a prominent role in the show and a musical segment in the show that showcases his ability. The Cirque tent holds 2,500 people and the arenas now at least 10,000 per show, so plenty of people have had a chance to hear him live. I would say that’s a pretty accomplished whistling career.

I now have a new goal in my life. make it to Louisburg N.C. for this event!
@Beth Duffy Do you get on youtube just to try and make people feel bad?

Listen again, it's a two voice whistle, practically a chord...
Thats the best comment here
More like "when you show up to take two different tests at the same time"
Wow that black dude was absolutely insane. Im absolutely blown away.
He whistled for Cirque Du Soleil.
CptWigglestheWiggly Do you know his name?
Game Boy Sean Lomax
You racist, only see the race first. Next time say: the guy in the suit with the mustache. OMG im so tired of this racism.

Lucas Riddle Still doesn’t make sense
The Korean gentleman nearly had me in tears not gonna lie.
Like 😂?
You’ve given me great respect to something that I thought would be silly at the beginning of the video.
A well made fim, well done. Not a topic that would ordinarily fascinate me but your film style made it a joy.
Shocked to see how many people show up to this event.
Not really. If i heard about a whistling competition, you better believe I'm going. Plus plenty of other people. Who wouldn't want to see a whistling competition. So strange of a thing lol
Chris young how many???? LOL do you live in a real small town. You can walk into a chipotle at lunch time with more people.
Matthew Schwenker google search sarcasm to begin with buddy. Then move on to satire. And if you get that far learn about hyperbole.
Matthew Schwenker r/wooosh
Many are from across North Carolina who go as a tradition since the competition has been held since 1974
ok that double whistle is actually super impressive 10:07
The North Korean man... bless him...
“I escaped from North Korea”
“Oh waaoowww”
Lol come on dude you didn’t sound impressed at all 😂
Devon Hodges this oh waoow sound like "I finish dark soul in hardcore noob"
I believe he was going to say it with more conviction, but soon realized that the man was continuing his story, so.. he kinda gave up in the middle of the "oh wow"
I tried whistling while watching video and got tired after trying 3 times.
Well done. Great people.
👁
I've never typed "whistling" into a search bar in my life... just sayin'
Ikr holyshit how the f did I get this recommendation
Same lol. There's some Juicy characters in this game. Real whistle fighters. The guy from India is number 1 P4P
Yet, here we all are. I'm just as confused.

I didn’t think I was going to like the video as much as I did! Great job on editing and loved how you captured others stories
A double whistle?!? WTF? Blew my mind.. make two holes with one mouth. Just when you think you know everything....
Verisimilitude Dude bruh ☠️🤣
Ahhh the ol double tone whistle.
*Pat's belly*
Back in my day......
Look up polyphonic overtone singing :D
@@bitbrain3468 Look up Polyphonic Voice and Double voice. only Beatboxers will know ;)
There’s a whistler busker in London’s underground - mostly in St Paul’s station I think - and he would always lift my spirits and make me smile.
Your comment made me so happy, haha. I've never even thought about professionally whistling. Or busking with whistles.
I think I know who you’re on about
10:13, I didn't know that was possible. :o
I tried to do it, but spat on my monitor.
😂😂😂
That double whistle was pretty cool... I think you gotta have a particularly shaped tongue in order to do it.
I think that's what King Julian was trying to do in Madagascar haha
Lmao
It's like those train whistles
I WANT TO HEAR MORE FROM THE GUY WHO ESCAPED NORTH KOREA! WHEN DOES HIS BOOK AND
MOVIE COME OUT?!
Did his wife and and 2 children follow suit??
MarklarsonTube I know him!!! He was a patient at the pharmacy I used to work at. Extremely nice guy. He used to walk around the pharmacy waiting area whistling the same tune from the video which I thought was really beautiful and soothing.
Lol k
Hollywood hasn't been very interested in story like this because it involves non-white leading role.
Not an honorable story leaving behind your wife and children.
I used to live in Louisburg!! The Whistlers Convention has since shut down due to the death of the gentleman who organized it (the man at 2:47) Mr. De Hart was a huge part of the Louisburg community, funding and organizing a lot of big events. (If you ever visit, be sure to check out the beautiful De Hart Botanical Gardens, which was named after him due to his major contributions to it!)
Louisburg is a small town full of incredible people, and you could probably make several documentaries about it. It's full of history, too! If you're ever nearby, be sure to check it out!!
UA-cam knows it's algorithm, alright... 3:30am and this pops up on my feed
Ilannguaq Jonathansen wtf 3:30 here also
1am checking in
Fax tho. They got it down
Ilannguaq Jonathansen aamma uanga kalaaliuvunga
I legit thought the 2 time grand champion guy was Stanley from The Office.
frostshock13 who says he isn't...lmao
Did i stutter
😂😂😂😂
You've been meatballed
After watching that woman double whistle, I've got a new goal in life
Makes me wonder if any of them have taken it as far as a split tongue
I was able to whistle like these guys since I was a child and I was always wondering about this profession. I could definitely compete with some of them for sure
I'm jealous when I try to whistle it's mostly air
I remembered how I accidentally learned how to whistle while breathing in. Felt like I acquired a superpower lol.
Ach fuck, other people can do that to !?
When you realise your not the only one with great power
sonictheporcipine I was blowing bubbles with my siblings and they were like “nick you’re whistling!” And I was like “wot”
Same
I'm a way better succ-whistler. I mess up too much blowing out..
Likely for work reasons- maybe he sent the money he got from working in the US to them?
this man said he escaped north korea at 15, he then says he had a wife and kids he left behind. At 15?
RRyxn Escape north korea at 15->have family outside of north korea at older age->leave family for who knows what reason at older age
GriNGo JR it doesnt seem like thats what he meant
listen to what he said again then, seems pretty clear to me.
What have I stumbled upon? Honestly, I find it really cute that they have a passion for whistling lmao
this video warms my heart bro nothing makes me happier than seeing a group of people from everywhere in the world being passionate about one thing
4:40 was that guy literally double whistling
Panda Parade ng
No its near 10:06
Nobi_Nobu she was using her tongue and only doing thirds tho, and I also said “that guy” not “that girl”
Nah, that's just an airy whistle, you can also do somewhat of a hum whistle to get a dark tone, but that lady has the DW down! Sick.
@@PandaParade oh
6:55 Sean Lomax was/is in Cirque Du Soleil show “Corteo”. I first saw him in the show in 2007?. He is incredible. Most recently saw him this year 2018 as the show returned as an arena tour. He has a prominent role in the show and a musical segment in the show that showcases his ability. The Cirque tent holds 2,500 people and the arenas now at least 10,000 per show, so plenty of people have had a chance to hear him live. I would say that’s a pretty accomplished whistling career.
It is a sad loss that most musicians fail to recognize such a beautiful instrument. Because these people are musicians!
4:40 I legit feel so bad for him but you know what he got that we don’t is courage
