It is only after 9 months of extremely bloody conflict when the Mukti Bahini had overrun border outposts and the Pakistani army had next to no ammunition that the Indian army intervened and Pakistan army surrendered within 13 days without much resistance. 1971 was a Pakistani civil war where the people's militia defeated a professional army. This is similar to American independence where the American militia defeated the British army.

First of all what you are claiming is totally wrong. In 1965 India had Mig 21 all armed with air to air missiles. They took part in war before 6 September and launched two air to air missiles which sabers easily dodged. Fact is, when Pakistan launched Operation Searchlight in March 1971, the Indian general Sam Maneckshaw threatened to resign when he was asked by Indira Gandhi to intervene in the Pakistani civil war.
It is only after 9 months of extremely bloody conflict when the Mukti Bahini had overrun border outposts and the Pakistani army had next to no ammunition that the Indian army intervened and Pakistan army surrendered within 13 days without much resistance.
1971 was a Pakistani civil war where the people's militia defeated a professional army.
This is similar to American independence where the American militia defeated the British army.
