20-25 years ago, there used to be Tekken 4, especially Tekken 3 and Tekken 2 tournaments in Istanbul. They would give a prize to the winner at the end. I went with my father and it was very crowded. It was between 1999 and 2005. I was playing very well at that time. But I still had no chance against some young people. We were having a great time. But unfortunately, there are no such game centers left in Turkey anymore. Everyone prefers to play from home.. I'm coming to Poland soon for trip. Is there any places there still?
Thanks for a little history about tournaments in Turkey back in a day. If we’re talking about Tekken Community there have always been a lot of tournaments in Poland. If I remember correctly the first big tournament was held in 1997 and it was Tekken 2 tournament. Back in 2000 we had probably one of the biggest Tekken tournament in Europe - more than 500 people were participating in Tekken 3 tournament in Katowice city and the winner used Kuma the whole time. Actually most Tekken players concentrate on Tekken 8 - there are about 100 players in every bigger tournament. We also had Tekken World Tour in Poland/Łódź in Tekken 7 a few years ago where many Korean and Japan players arrived. As for the classic Tekken - there aren’t any official tournaments now for obvious reasons, but there are still some Tekken 3 tournaments in many Retro gaming festivals. Check my channels playlist for more retro offline tournaments - I’m trying to participate in most of them when I have a time and when I’m there I’m trying to record everything. Enjoy staying here :)
That's great, if I can find any place about retro games in Poland specially in Warsaw I would join. I played Tekken 3 on 2013 last time and I really missed it. There were game centers untill 2015 in Istanbul but most of them is closed. I was child when I went this tournaments with my father on 1999 . Ah I really miss those days (good old days) If I had a Time Machine, I would go back in time and never come back to this time again. I also remember it was a very big place and very crowded. I met my childhood friends from the neighborhood there and we were all very surprised. They had come with their fathers. There were more than 30 PlayStation 1 and Nintendo 64s. Even more. They had come not only for Tekken players but also for different games. The music playing in that atmosphere was great. Young people, children and adults having fun all together. We lined up for Tekken 3. Me, my father, my friends and their fathers, we also joined the tournament. Then I beat 2 of my friends and their fathers but my father was playing well and he had beaten me. My father had beaten 3 more people after me. A young man we didn't know beat my father and he was playing very well. He always chose King and beat my father by lifting him up and knocking him down. The guy was playing very well with King. He had even beaten his opponents after my father. He was using King by wrestling and he was dodging punches very quickly. We couldn't hit him in the game. I had also seen very different moves there. Then I realized that everyone there were professional Tekken players.
@@Can7258 I love these sentimental stories from the childhood so thanks for sharing :) As for me, I remember my first ever tournament back in 98. We played Tekken 3 and it was held by one of my local school and only kids who were under 16 years old could participate. There was about 50 participants and I finished in 3rd place (I remember that Law was my first main but it was on casual level :)). The fun fact is - the two other contestents from 1st and 2nd place (I didn’t know them back then) were later winning many nationwide polish Tekken tournaments (they both live near my hometown). Thanks for reminding me that :) I don't know if you'll find many retro festivals or tournaments in Warsaw, but there are more of this in the south of Poland. I'm also an organizer of many retro tournaments so let me know when you're gonna visit Poland - there's a chance you'll have the opportunity to visit us :)

@@KrelianPL Was that disrepect wih Lei and then ragequit when lost 3 in a row? lol
@@UrbanbanchouJM Hard to tell what was in my opponents mind at that moment, but Lei can still be quite good in TK2 if you know how to play him :)
@@KrelianPL I meant this part 5:23, all that jumping looks trolling
@@UrbanbanchouJM It might be trolling, that's why it is never a good idea to do that when you don't know who are you playing against :)
