Now THIS is a good documentary!! Very detailed full of information, good production and very cohesive, just in general everything Thriller 40 could have been and Bad wasn't the biggest selling album of all time, in my opinion the estate really dropped the ball with that one.
You’re very right in that he surpassed the Beatles in many categories. He grew up listening to them and still admired them. He was always kind and respectful of other artists and their respective legacies, even when it wasn’t returned to him due to jealousy or whatever reasons.
Fun fact: Michael used to date a woman named Stephanie Mills. This was back in the 70’s. His mom Katherine wanted Michael to marry her but Michael had other plans. They broke up eventfully and years later she married Jeffery Daniel his choreographer lol.
There’s a cute video on UA-cam of Michael and Stephanie at a press conference while he’s accepting an award and you can def see the chemistry between the 2 even years after they broke up.
It's so nostalgic that the co-choreographers are wearing MJ's "Captain Eo" shirts during the dance rehearsals. That 17 minute 3-D film premiered at Disneyland in 1986 and it was a BIG DEAL. The park was actually open for 60 hours straight and you got a bracelet and one of those shirts when entering. You could reenter as many times as you wanted during those 2.5 days as long as you kept the bracelet on (and I ended up with 3 shirts 😁). They did the same 60-hr premiere when "Star Tours" opened. It was great being "nocturnal" for those events (because the lines were definitely shorter at 4am lol).

13:00 Jeffrey Daniel is MJs inspiration to do the moonwalk back in 1981. Witch fun fact, mj was supposed to do the moonwalk while peforming don’t stop till you get enough in the triumph tour but he didn’t do it Becuase he was not comfortable enough. So he did the moonwalk in 1983 instead. and Jeffrey plays the guy on the red roller skates and does the stationary moonwalk in the video
That's not Jeffrey on the skates... he's in black with a cap on. You can see him next to Michael at the ending breakdown sequence in the BAD video

Also Nia Long will be Katherine Jackson in this movie. Katherine Jackson is the mother of Michael Jackson.
