- I finished this boil tired and worn out. However, this finished out at near 4 1/2 gallons of crystal clear Maple Syrup. Looks like the weather will give us a few days rest before the next run. Thanks for joining me.

Thanks for sharing Joe!
Thanks for watching watching
I continue to be so impressed by those 400 gpd membranes
Yes, did you end up getting yours replaced? You had mentioned them struggling or did they just start behaving?
I'm the first person to tap 130 year old maples. Just experienced my first super run. Couldn't keep up dumping, 50 taps and I have 22 gallons of finished product so far entering the 5th week. It's been wild.
I understand the dumping, weather and predicted run this week is not matching with our time allowance. Glad you have had a good season!
Looks great,
Great video. Love seeing the whole operation. Maple syrup season is just about to begin here in Atlantic Canada
Thank You
Nice Video
Thank You
Another great video Joe, really impressed with the whole setup you have there (and taking notes! 😛)
Thanks Jay, as my 16 year old says, I do what I can
@YoungbloodFamilyFarm 😀 have one too, they have lots of fun sayings eh? 😂
Hello Joe - A few years ago I ran across one of your earliest videos and was hooked on the concept of RO. I built my own unit from an old kitchen RO and ebay. I have added upgrades each year since. I notice you put yours on a timer. Last year I purchased a pressure switch from RO in a bucket (can be purchased separate) and absolutely Love it! I put my intake for the RO in the sap barrel about half way down and turn it on. And go to bed or go to work. When the intake starts sucking air it shuts down. no timer estimates. I get exactly the % of draw off I want. I hope this helps and returns a bit of Maple knowledge. Thanks
I will look more into this, Thank you
Boiling today here on my side...got 110 gallons to work thru 👍🍁. I am hoping my super run is this upcoming week!
Looks like you will have a cold yet beautiful day to accomplish this!
Nice big batch if you check the boiling point of water for that day you can be more accurate mine was 209 the other day but 219 is always a good choice if it’s just for family and friends
Thanks
Awesome video. Never thought of the t-shirt to filter the raw sap into the bucket!! Great ideas, thanks for sharing and doing this video. Lovev this time of year, the best.... How do you like the bota? That's next on my hit list. This fall, either a JD or Bota... Any thoughts?
I like the size and maneuverability of the Kubota. Things I don’t like as much. The R4 tires struggle in snow. This did not have the ssqa option, so it’s just a pin on bucket. Wish I could swap in a set of forks or a grapple. Anyhow, besides the above I have really liked this little tractor
@@YoungbloodFamilyFarm That's some good insight, thanks for sharing! Hopefully the syrup is turn out like liquid gold.
Wondering why you have not gone to the tube system with a ro abdominal compressed air to move the sap
I tap out 3 different areas of my property so it seems that I would need lots of tubing, doesn’t seem worth it. Land is also really flat
