Nah, the theming for the new generation is the 'Knights of the Round Table', which is somewhat ironic, but also fitting, considering the full story of the knights and Arthur in the original tales
@@themonsterwithin4000 To summarize, Arthur loses sight of himself and becomes corrupt, starting with when he eloped and birthed Mordred, who was prophesied to destroy his kingdom one day by Merlin. To combat this he literally just... makes an order that all children born on that day are to be cast out to sea. He didn't predict Mordred would be sent away to be raised outside of Camelot to protect him. The Breaking of the Round Table begins with the disaster that was the quest for the Holy Grail. Arthur, though King, continues to ignore the warning signs around him, such as with Mordred. This is further shown with the Sword of Balin, a cursed weapon that though powerful, is prophesied to bring ruin to that which the wielder holds most. Arthur seems fixated on obtaining it, despite his knights refusing to go get it for him. He pushes and pushes. Gawaine eventually caves and is wounded, Percival attempts and though is not wounded by the sword due to the purity of his soul, he ends up stabbing himself in the leg as penance due to almost falling for its seduction. Eventually Gawaine arrives, bearing the swords scabbard, and safely draws the blade. Arthur understands the dangers of attempting to obtain the Grail, but only truly realizes what he has ordered as Lancelot and eventually Galahad leave on their quest, lamenting that never again will he see such good men assembled at the table as they have been today. The quest for the Grail is arduous, and the losses are great, most of the knights of the Round Table returning grievously injured, or worse. Galahad, Percival, and third by the name of Sir Bors set out. During the journey, they meet with King Pelies, who provides them with a broken sword. When Galahad touches it, it becomes whole, and Galahad is given a vision of the Grail. He discovers its location, but is also told Camalot is not worthy of it. The story varies after this, but to summarize, Camalot is deemed unworthy of the Grail, and it is instead the Grail is taken into the Heavens, out of the reach of mortal man. In the end, only Sir Bors returns to Camalot, as Galahad too is taken to heaven, and Percival chooses not to return to Camalot after what he has seen and learnt, instead retiring to become a hermit. The final act that quite literally breaks the roundtable is Lancelot's betrayal, in which he and Guinevere, Arthur's wife and the Queen, have an affair. Arthur is forced to choose between his wife and his knights. In the end, he chooses to punish Guinevere with death. This action however, results in the splitting of the table, between those loyal to Arthur, and those loyal to Lancelot. The rift grows wider when Lancelot accidentally kills Gawains brothers, causing the later to seek retribution. Instead of seeking to mend the rift, Arthur chooses to side with Gawain, supporting his desire for revenge. When war breaks out between the Round Table, Arthur chooses to join the fray to assist Gawain in his plight, leaving his most loyal remaining knight in charge of Camelot. Mordred, not realizing he is was the bastard child he had once tried to kill. As Merlin predicted, Arthur returns to a Camelot that has renounced him, it's people believing Mordred to be a better ruler than he will ever be, a revolt brewing against Arthur to make Mordred the true King. Seeking to make amends and regain his kingdom, and warned by the spirit of Galahad that 'If he forgoes war and forges a pact of peace for a month, the kingdom will Prosper, and in a month Sir Lancelot will return in reverence with his knights to rescue you and slay Mordred. But if you do war, you and many good men shall be slain.' Arthur and Mordred meet to make a pact of peace. However, fate is cruel, and during the signing, an Adder bites one of the knights, causing him to draw his sword to retaliate. The other knights mistake this as a sign of battle, and the final war begins. As it rages, Arthur cries, and I quote "Jesu, mercy," said the King, "where are all my noble knights become? Alas that ever I should see this doleful day! For now," said King Arthur, "I am come to mine end. But would to God," said he, "that I wist now where were that traitor Sir Mordred that has caused all this mischief." Indeed, Arthur chooses to blame Mordred for what has occured. And though he wins, he finds Mordred alive, mourning the loss of life atop a pile of bodies. Despite warnings from his remaining knights, Arthur chooses revenge over peace. He is reminded of Gawains warning, but states that whether he lives or dies, he must take Mordreds head. So he takes up his spear, and impales Mordred. And as he dies, Mordred cleaves Arthur's head with his blade. Arthur, seeing the error of his ways, asks Bedivere to return Excalibur to the lake. Bedivere cannot bring himself to discard such a beautiful blade, and so lies twice to Arthur. Arthur is sorrowed that even Bedivere would lie to him, and falls into despair. Apon seeing this, Bedivere finally returns the sword to the lake. And with that Arthur passes on to Avalon, where his fate is left unknown. What is known however is that Camelot fails into disarray with no true King, and eventually becomes no more.
This actually brings up an interesting question a few fans in the fandom have discussed. Due to the reveal of Nephilim, we can look back to the New Holy War arc if I remember correctly. Mael after absorbing the commandments he took from the respective demons who possessed them, he turned out to have similar abilities to Tristian it seems. (Both Ark & Darkness/Hellblaze) Mael could possibly have been defined as a Nephilim in the Angel Of Death form or his 4 commandments form, whichever you wish to call it. Though, this also means we will have more new clans of hybrids in the future, the children of the sins and other characters we may see in the future.
