    Hey Dunsy I never liked the sound of that second part of the solo but it is what it is right. Thanks 🙏 my good friend Dunsy. Peace and your the best. I know you work hard to get these lessons spot on.

    One of my favorite songs. The only vocal line by Klaus is "Ahhhh..." Before the solo. Those diads are great tension before the release of the guitar solo. A brilliant song by Rudolf . Michael may have helped but Rudy actualized it. That was great thank you!

      Yeah, it was a nice guitar. Sadly another one that had to go to make room for something else. Michael is one of my favourite players, but I can’t do him or that guitar the justice they deserve - plus folk kept wanting to hear the extended version of Rock Bottom when I took it out to a gig! 🤘🛸

    Well done mate. I've poured over tabs posted online and couldn't seem to get it. This is great help!
    This song has always been like the proverbial "brick wall to the face" of late 70's rock. Sends chills up my spine.
    Now if I could only get the same crunch out of my shit box modeling amp.

    • @gordonforbes9948
      @gordonforbes9948 Рік тому +2

      I think it’s more a cleaner tone to make it easier to follow. That being said Fast Eddie and indeed the great Schenker used surprisingly cleaner sounds than todays metal.

    • @DunsysGuitarWorld
      @DunsysGuitarWorld  Рік тому +1

      Yeah, I didn't use a whole lot of drive on this one - I think a 70's Marshall setting on my Kemper. The P90 in the bridge is a super high output pickup, which works really well with dynamics when you dig in for the solo.

  • @derekclacton

    Really great lesson, Dunsy 👍 I’d say it’s iconic too! It must take a lot of time and effort to make these videos - the close-up with tab is really well presented and easy to follow. Thank you 🙏 🎸

      You’re very welcome, Sir. Always happy to share whatever knowledge I have. I worked out that it takes, on average, 1 hour for me to make 1 minute of video (including all the work I have to do to get my playing up to speed so I can actually play it, lol 😂). So this one took me literally a whole day. Over a few days, obv, as I have a few other things I need to be getting on with, according to my better half 🍺🤘

    One of the most comprehensive tutorials in UA-cam land. It’s sure to get plenty views, certainly by me. Loved the wee bit tab and allowing enough time to get fingers where they need to be. With lesson decided spacing for easy access to the parts fast forward and rewinding. I’m starting to understand how it took you 20 hours to edit it. Masterpiece

    I like the lesson and I also like your Hellanbach t shirt, matey. I knew those lads! Hellanbach that is, not Scorpions (I think they prefer it if people don't put 'the' at the front of that, but I could easily be wrong...). Although I did see ('The'?) Scorpions at Newcastle City Hall just after Lovedrive came out. They were great, in a naff, cluelessly Germanic kind of a way. I recall their-then bassist Francis Buchholz asking us in the audience, 'You vont more Scorpions rock?!' Well of course we fucking did! As for Hellanbach, lead singer Jimmy Brash once got trapped in the toilet at me mam's house in Durham when he went for a shit one Sunday afternoon. I had to bust him out, which meant kicking the door in Sweeney-style. I'm still waiting for the bastard to pay for the damages! Keep up the good work, Dunsy - always interesting, useful and entertaining. Cheers, son - PT x

      Without a doubt one of the finest comments ever, Sir! 😂 Ah, ah, ha, ha, genuinely bellowed at that whole thing. Man, I love The Big H. I was speaking to someone a wee while back at a gig here in Edinburgh (a Geordie lad, funnily enough), who said that Dave was very unwell and hadn’t played in a long time. Really sorry to hear that if that’s the case. A really fantastic player and a great band. I’m hoping to do a feature on them at some point, but it’s so damn difficult to play (and the tuning is real low which my guitars are brutal at). Jimmy must huv been in a right lot of bother if he got stuck in the shitter, I hope he recovered better than yer ma’s bog door!

      Hope I helped with that, Paul. I think the first part of the solo is pretty doable, the second part can perhaps be played with a couple of notes less (the difficult ones, lol!) and most folks wouldn't notice. That's how I roll!
