Doesnt matter how fast you can do it if you end up missing something and have a accident. Your the first single stick video that I have seen that has used his line mans rope. Props to you for that. Thanks for the great video.
Awesome demonstration! I really appreciate your detail to maintaining little to no slack by incorporating the linesman’s rope/belt. Also love the t-shirt. Stay safe and God Bless!
Love the comment on keeping the wife comfortable or she wont come back out. Must be nice to have your life partner out there enjoying the hunting with you.
I was searching for something and found this video. I rarely get on my phone and comment or like a video. I watch YT on my TV and can’t. I made a point to like and subscribe yours. I like your content and you come across as a really cool guy. Keep it up and God bless you!
Love how in depth you take all your videos, no stone unturned precise description of how you do things. Love to see you do a video of the amsteel aider. I've done quite a bit of amsteel diy but I'm not sure how to put the second step in with the brummel lock and the one video I did come across, well it was hard to see. Anyway cool set up, safe climbing and kill some s%(t! GO JAYS GO!
I just got my wingman yesterday. I love it. I'll be one sticking with it also this season. Although I'm using it as a one stick as is. No cam cleat. The cinch strap works great and I think I can do it just as fast as it would be with a cam cleat. Love your channel brother. Tom
That cam cleat makes sense for what you are doing, but as a life-long sailor I can tell you for sure that cam cleats do occasionally pop out - there may be other safer options. This style (once you put it in, you could tie a knot and be safer)
Man not enough real estate on that little platform for a longer sit. This is why I went with the mission. I can climb all over that thing and get any shot around most every tree without needing a ring of steps. I'm still a newb though and just getting comfortable with everyrything. Might try out one sticking next season. Just prefer climbing sticks right now because that's what I've always used with hang ons and its what I feel most comfortable with and with Daisy chains I can throw them up fast. Went with the trophyline mini's and added those one step amsteel cable steps to all 4 of them just to get some extra height.
For my trophyline step I actually wrapped all the surface in paracord. its camo and provides grip/ silence of the metal. I also wrapped the top platform itself. When I got to the center (where the rope makes contact) I left space in the paracord and actually layered it double. didn't have to grind away anything.
People of different heights one stick. A good method to determine step distance is measure from floor to bend in knee then subtract 4-5 inches to allow for winter hunting that will affect how high you can lift leg.
I run 8mm oplux with my safeguard with no issues at all. Running the shikar mini with daisy chain and 2 step aider as a one stick. Have some WE steps as a backup with knaider/swaider and run a ring of steps at the top.
@@PrivilegedBowhunter It's fast going up a tree and allows you to work with one hand, once your are at hunting height you can add a strap or cinch it down like I do to make it tight to handle more side pressure.
Great video and I like your format and editing. Appreciate the details and relaxed style. Looking forward to checking out more of your content. God bless.
Another great video, i will be doing the same thing this year, One stick climbing and leaving a paracord loop for future SRT climbing. Except i am adding 4 squirrel steps for a ring of steps. will see how it goes.
First "Thank you for your Service". Retired myself. I have watch this one stick and your SRT video. I am 60. 6'2 230. Would like to know which method you find easier to get to hunting height? Thanks
Thanks for serving bro🤙🏿SRT is easier if you have a preset rope in the tree. I generally prefer one sticking though because I don't like leaving paracord in trees that can give away my tree to other hunters.
Great videos, please keep sharing. Thank you for your service. Retired myself 20years. Turning 60. 6'2 | 225. Was wondering which is more physical to ascend one stick or SRT? Will preset SRT. Thanks in advance
Awesome Vid. I have been trying to figure out what stick/platform combo to get. I really like the UP set up at Eastern Woods but not too crazy about the price. How is the side load?
As long as you have the stick set well you won't have any issues with side pressure. Aerial Assault did an awesome review of the wingman and he jumped on it from the side and the stick didn't kick out. If you already have an aider and rope for the cam cleat it's much cheaper than the UP.
I got a chunk of land in worth county ga give me a shout if your ever in the area I will try to get you on a trophy buck if you're interested you probably have plenty of places to hunt already
I just got sold my Matthews Reezen 6.5 and got a Barnett Whitetail Hunter crossbow - hurt my shoulder and could draw but not well once I was in heavy clothing. Have you tried Xbows at all?
Hey brotha I been away from home a long time but will be coming home tomorrow on 9/29 looking for a fellow bow hunter any chance we could get a hunt in?
Why don't people just climb the tree with spikes that linemen use. Seems much faster and simpler. Once your at the top you can tie off and put out your platform.
Here is the cam cleat that I used amzn.to/3ENbH56 It was the only thing that I spent money on. I already had amsteel from a whoopie sling that I repurposed into a two step aider.
learn to tie a double running bowline, have to work to make it slip, will almost work on an oiled flag pole.🤣. Mad Rock! BUY! BUY! BUY! says the company just $200+ . Try an ATC and auto block. DAMN!!! I just noticed , a 300 lb. dude climbing a toothpick.Sorry for presuming a man that can SRT can't tie a double bowline. Hand to forehead, forgive stupid

Doing it in crocs to show how simple it is. Thanks for making this! I just ordered my wingman this morning thanks to this video

Great video! Appreciate your emphasis on safety. Too many new climbers out there cutting far too many corners to simply save a few minutes.
I actually really sad, someone is going to get hurt.
So glad I found this video! Your attention to detail and safety is awesome! Stay safe and good luck!

Thanks bro, I'll probably throw an amsteel aider video up soon. Tigers>Jays
Great show man I was scared to try Saddle hunting but I’m gonna cowboy up and jump in that air next year. Very charismatic, and knowledgeable video.
Do it!!!🙌🏾

Thanks for watching. I tried one sticking with just the stock strap and it's really frustrating and slow.

Good point, once I get to height I'll tie a couple half hitches
Next time you climb in crocs make sure you flip them into 4×4 mode. Great video and very informative.
Haha, thanks bro
I have same exact set up, can’t go wrong with the wingman
Cool vid! We fish Lake Wilson almost every week since I was a kid.
I also use Trophyline tree saddles for about 25 years. Thanks for the great info.
I've actually never fished there, may have to give it a go

Thanks PBH!! Thanks for the tips especially from a safety standpoint!! Your videos are awesome!!!!
You got my attention with welcome family.
Tks!
Yessir, welcome to the family 🙏🏾
DanO is the ManO ...awesome vid brodie...keep up the awesome work!

Thanks for your service, and thanks for watching🙏🏿SRT is the easier option IMO when you have a preset loop in the tree.
Awesome video man!!
Great video man very solid!!
Thanks buddy
I know this is off the topic. Where did you get the hat. I did order the wingman and plan to modify it.

Have you tried the EWO Ultimate One Stick with the UP? Just wondering how it compares.
New subscriber here, i liked your video and loved your shirt !
Thanks for subscribing buddy🙌🏿
What knot did you use above the mad rock? I’m curious to see how you do that. Thanks in advance
It's called a schwabisch hitch 🤙🏿
Dope cuzzo. Loved it……
Thanks fam 🙌🏿
I dunno if it would work... but can you use that plasti-dip stuff in the groove you cut in the front of the platform?
Where do you hunt most
I got a chunk of land in worth county ga give me a shout if your ever in the area I will try to get you on a trophy buck if you're interested you probably have plenty of places to hunt already
Where did you start your cam cleat? In the existing button hole?
I drilled a hole above and below the existing button hole
@@PrivilegedBowhunter nevermind I see at 26:38 thank you!!
I just got sold my Matthews Reezen 6.5 and got a Barnett Whitetail Hunter crossbow - hurt my shoulder and could draw but not well once I was in heavy clothing. Have you tried Xbows at all?
I haven't other than playing around with my uncles in the yard. They're only legal here if you're disabled

Exactly🙏🏿
Zinc it for the shine
I'll give it a try, thanks🤙🏿
What pack are you using? Is that one to pack out with?
amzn.to/412AZZg
Its the Eberlestock F1 Mainframe w/ x2 batwing pouches. Above is a link to it on Amazon. Hope that helps🤙🏾
Does the stick come with the purchase of the wingman ?
Yessir
Good deal thanks for the help just got my first saddle still trying to figure it all out !
@@kylesmith166 no worries brother, good luck🤙🏿
What size drill bit did you use to drill out your holes
I used a couple of different sizes because of the drill block. I talk about it at about the 7 minute mark.
What is the pack you are using?
It's the Eberlestock F1 mainframe
looks like your ready to hunt
Aaaahhhmmmm cough cough 🤣🤣 what up doe! When you coming to OK? I got some spots for us to hunt bruh. Pull up one of these seasons!
I'm definitely down to swing through OK. Let's try to do something next season.
Why don't people just climb the tree with spikes that linemen use. Seems much faster and simpler. Once your at the top you can tie off and put out your platform.
Tree spikes are illegal in some states and if your spike kicks out you may take a ride down the tree.
How much did the mods in this video cost?
Here is the cam cleat that I used amzn.to/3ENbH56
It was the only thing that I spent money on. I already had amsteel from a whoopie sling that I repurposed into a two step aider.
Here's the gear tie for the handle amzn.to/3q8Nban

Nice shirt.

Just sent ya my build lol.
It looks good man, once USPS free's my stealth strips our setups will be twining lol
I would break my dang neck if I tried this. I'll use steps or my summit climber . Good video tho
