Hive #1, frame #1 with the Queen on looks like a drone layer. Did you see any worker comb? I keep records by marking the top cover. The new hive yard has too much shade, SHB love shade, Keep your eye on that. You have nice yards
Yep there was worker comb. Double checked earlier today and she was in there laying drone worker brood fresh. It is odd all of the drone brood location on that one frame. Lately I have been keeping notes in my iphone that I make changes to but I do like the idea of marking the top covers as that is easy as well. Also yes on the shade unfortunately all of the yards have a shade issue but that is the only spot I am able/permitted to keep the bees on those properties. Def not ideal for SHB but I have had great success with beneficial nematodes for SHB control. It worked wonders last year!
Great video! I've had the same issues with swarming. They can be hard to slow down once they've set their mind to it
They really have been quite difficult this year compared to previous!
