It doesn't even have to be eventful, there just has to be that something that intrigues me, whether it's the cinematography, the music, the acting. The score and sound design add to the intensity and is it's own 'character'. I thought I knew where this was going, but honestly, I barely got it right! I think this would make an excellent double bill or companion piece to the also excellent Horror-tinged crime thriller, 'Love Lies Bleeding' 🙂

@@Casket_Jack Have you seen this movie Jack? I don’t like all “artsy” films. There’s a lot that are way too weird for me. I’d say aside from the non-linear plot, this one is pretty straightforward.
Gotta say I already had a bad taste in my mouth after the trailers for this one. Stuck in between the usual horror movies was some bat shit crazy leftist lgbt whatever was a doc trying to say Lincoln was gay. Man, from that miniseries trying to show Cleopatra as black to the lies of Bridgeton the left's love of rewriting history shows no bounds. So I was expecting a real leftist's perspective for this movie and if that's what they were trying they failed. From the lead final girl secret serial killer who has to pontificate how hard it is to be a woman because men can be so abusive. Gee, let's check the cold hard facts. Women in lesbian relationships face the chance of domestic violence far more tha straight or gay men couples. Then near the end when 2 deputies show up at the final crime scene it's the young entitlled female officer who mucks up the crime scene. The older male cop tells her she's wrong and her response is just because she's a woman that he objects. He rightfully responds he was on his first scene when she was in diapers. The modern intersectionist 3rd or 4th degree woman is untolerable So glad I'm near 60 and haven't had to truly deal with any of them. This is a real horror movie for any young man. Don't go for the wild chick. Look for a normal girl and you'll survive. Solid cast and well acted by the 2 leads. Liked that it was shown out of order. It wouldn't have been near effective if told sequentially. Thought the ending was a little flat. 2 ways would have been better imo. Either after she looks in the rearview mirror and we get that she's seen a demon so she then kills herself or the really crazy ending I was waiting for that a Sasquatch grabs her as she's walking down the desolate road. That would have been a wild ending but there were so many references from Ed Begly that I thought one might make an appearance and save the day at the end. One thing that annoys me in so many movies is the smoking. It's not the smoking itself but it's so obvious when someone is or isn't an actual smoker. You could tell male lead either was or still smokes. The female lead is just bad at smoking. That was the only bad scene Longlegs when Maika Monroe is smoking in her car. It was unconvincing that she smoked. It appeared like she hated having the cigarette near her face. It's quite possible that I'm overanalysing it. There's a famous review of a Michael J Fox movie that Roger Ebert lambasts his performance for and one if his critiques was how he smoked and how it was painfully obvious that Fox wasn't a smoker. In reality Fox was.and had been and had been a smoker for many years. Strange Darlings was good but not anywhere near the most inventive movie of the year.
