  • Amy visited us looking for her first active user wheelchair - having been given a very basic folding manual wheelchair from the NHS which she was struggling to use.
After a full assessment looking at Amy's needs she decided to go for a Kuschall K Series 2.0 - along with a FreeWheel attachment and off road wheels.
The transformation is HUGE which you can see in this video and Amy is now sitting much better and looking great - she can also walk her dogs with ease!
If you have any questions or need some advice feel free to contact us ‪@invictusactive‬. We have a showroom in Wolverhampton and can provide virtual assessments.

So very happy for you Amy, having a proper wheelchair made FOR YOU, fit TO your body, makes all the difference in quality of life. At first glance of her old chair, I could see that would never work and be so uncomfortable.... and with your feet out so far in front of you, you can't get close to anything. I hope you enjoy your newfound freedom. Greetings from across the pond :)

That's great. Something really needs to be done about the way the NHS is scripting chairs for new paras. That chair was disgusting. The Kuschal looks great, and I think I'll have a good look at it for my next soon. That said, looking at her core, she's obviously a relatively low and possibly incomplete. I think Amy would benefit greatly from lowering that back by another 6-8 inches and even losing the handles.

wheels just look to small or she is sitting too high, thought she should be able to touch the wheel release pins. ? her top half is having to lean forward too much to get a nice push ?

Correct, that is because she is not.
Amy's disability means she can walk short distances too (see crutch holder within the video) but she wanted a nice wheelchair so when she does need to use a wheelchair it's perfect for her.
