I've never heard of this song so I went and listened to it and my god that song just so happened to go perfect with the worst morning of my entire high school life so far. really turned my mood around. thanks man
I decided to check out more of this bands stuff and they are brilliant. The Oaf and That Song are excellent. I found another excellent Canadian band by mistake called Big Sugar the Song was called Girl watcher and when the Sax/Bugle or Kazoo Solo kicked in i immediately thought of you. It's a great song if you have time it's worth a listen.Great lesson and Thanks from Sunderland UK
just saw big wreck live a couple weeks ago and honestly the best live show ive ever been too. Hugely underrated for how good they are. Ian Thornley has an amazing voice and is an unreal guitarist. If you get a chance definitely go see them live
My luck is not wasted on this deep cut. Thumbs up. I hope this is the first in a series of videos featuring songs from "Big" bands. If so, I'd like Big Fun's "Teenage Suicide, Don't Do It" or "Big Country" by Big Country.
Big wreck songs are the hardest to find out how they are played due to odd tuning. They would not reveal it to guitar magazines or anything else to make it harder for other bands to replicate them. I know this for a fact being friends with one of the guitarist. Unfortunately he is not here anymore but it was an honor to know him. R.I.P Buddy. I would love for this guy to figure out the Oaf and blown wide open. And if he feels ballsy enough try lady like
Great song ! It's fun to play. I was hoping to find what the far away swirly guitars do in the background during the quieter parts, guess I'll need to use my ears.
Hey thanks for the vid! I really like how you teach, quick and to the point, to teach this in under 10min, awesome!! Now if you could do "Control" its some whammy bar fun in the rhythm part! There are very few Big Wreck Tutorials out there, so could be a winner for your channel,,, ? dunno, but frankly I love the band and would love to play some of the easier tunes live, cheers!
Great job, Great Canadian band. Ian Thornely is one of the best slide guitarist out there. If you want to learn ho to play slide guitar he is the man to watch. Could you please show us how to play "Albatross" from Big Wreck. Much appreciated. Thanks
Egggggxcellent song sir, I’ve always thought the singer has some “Chris Cornell” in his voice. I’ll need to take out my pocket book Brando for this one.....see what I did there?; lol
Hey Ryan it's been awhile.Hope your well! I really dig these guys BIG WRECK" TRULY awesome Canadian band check out Moist, Big Sugar, & Tea Party and some of Big wrecks other stuff Ian Thornley is the man BRO!

I just need to say thanks for honouring so many tunes from my teenage years.... they were Big up here in Canada-land... but small enough to tour everywhere and be able to see them easily. There are a Canadian-American mix of peeps. Good shit ... thanks for this one. How about Albatross by the same band?
Egggggxcellent song sir, I’ve always thought the singer has some “Chris Cornell” in his voice. I’ll need to take out my pocket book Brando for this one.....see what I did there?; lol

thanks for the request Al!
What you said: "Sounds a bit like lightning bolt."
What I heard: "Use this as an intro whenever you play lightning bolt for the rest of your life."
Happy to oblige :)
oh but lightning bolt is in reverse! A-D rather than D-A, both in the key of A however. i guess that song is technically in D Lydian
We will make it work! I'm thinking stay on the A for a couple of measures before we transition to lightning bolt :)
Yay, good times
your name always reminds me of golf. I guess most things remind me of golf...
Are you Canadian?
are we playing the questions game from whose line is it anyway?
@@RyanLendt nah I'm legitimately curious. I've never met an American who knows this song.

I was wondering why my tuning sounded a little off, turns out i was in C# and not drop C# lol
Hahaha! *cries in wtf is the 2nd and 3rd chord in the second part of the chorus*
I find the live version he sounds a lot like Chris Cornell
