I am running a VPN client no problem (windows 10), but once I install PortMaster - my VPN is unable to connect to any of its servers ... DNS error issues. How can I fix this issue?
I installed Portmaster but it seems that it runs after a couple of other apps that first connect to the internet and is not filtered by Portmaster at the beginning. Is there a way to make sure that Portmaster is running first on your PC?
Has this software stopped being updated? The interface I looked at many years ago is still the same. It would be nice if, when a program/application wants to access the internet, it would ask the user for information such as the location of the program on the disk, the IP number it wants to connect to, the domain name, whether it has a digital signature, the name of the manufacturer, etc. I am currently using the free version and the notification settings seem insufficient to me. Isn't it possible to improve these? By the way, I would like to thank all the developers who contributed to this wonderful software. I hope this software will be developed more. It is a wonderful thing, I enjoy using it. I am thinking of buying it after trying it for a while. I would like to thank everyone who contributed again, for saving us from the exploitation of Windows.
hey thanks for the feeback. We actually went a different rout from the one you suggested, where we made import and export of porifiles easy. There is also a community where you can share them with others and get going faster with your own setup github.com/portmaster-community/apps per connection blocking is also a thing, in prompt mode, but as we keep saying, we don't think this is the way to go, everyone doing the same things over and over again... is just a waste of time - Sharing good profiles saves time, and you might learn a thing or two about how Portmaster works as well. I hope this helps.
If you add the ip address and the verify label then Portmaster does check if the server is correct. and of course tls as well as https do make sure the response has not been tempered with.
then you probably have some compatibility issue. typically its some VPN or AV (often with VPN) you can look into the debug info for more details,. also the wiki has some great resources to help you through this.
I use free Cox wifi (Technitium to change MAC address) and with Portmaster turned on I can't access the registration page. I can turn it off, get connected and restart Portmaster and it's fine from then on. I'd like to configure it so that it allows the registration page to load but can't figure out how to. Suggestions?
tried using it and it instatly broke my nordVPN i just did the quick setup without removing or adding ANY options and it totally refused to let nord start and blocked all my internet acess untill i uninstalled it and as if by magic everything was back to normal.
love it....the best firewall i ever see..great job guys!
Thank you!
Van a lanzar una versión en español?

I think, every modern system should come with a great firewall and some filterlists by default.
I guess filter-lists won't be something MS will include any time soon. 😅
@@SafingIO yeah haha i guess not

Hello, when installed will this disable Windows Defender automatically?
It won’t. Defender can and should be running next to Portmaster.
It focuses on different aspects of security and does not interfere with Portmaster.
@@SafingIO Ok, Thank you.
Turn on the subtitles for the video!
I did look into it, and the option to auto create is not there. I am sorry for your inconvenience.
Greetings ! Is there any way to install portmaster on coreelec ?
I have no experience with coreelec, and it is not officially supported, you can always try though :D
does portmaster support DNSSEC also? when I use dig to check the DNS response it doesn't have the DNSSEC response additional fields?
it does not we support dot and doh.
What need would DNSSEC fulfill for you that dot or doh don't do?
@@SafingIO I was just curious to know if it is supported since DNSSEC is a way to authenticate the DNS server's responses.
