I've seen a lot of female actors who said that they personally did not like John Wayne. Later on they admired him and happy to work with him. They were Katharine Hepburn and Patricia Neal.
Add Lauren Bacall to the list. They didn't have a great relationship on "Blood Alley", but she said when Bogart was diagnosed with cancer Wayne was the first to send flowers, even though he didn't know Bogart. They had a much better time with "The Shootist", and at Wayne's final Academy Awards Bacall said, "I only came to see Duke."

He wasn't a great actor with range; whatever role he played he was always the Duke, but he had presence like no-one before or since. On screen, he looked, moved and spoke in a way that was, at once, over the top and yet believable. We know cowboys and soldiers weren't always like that but we also knew they should be. There are negative stories from his private life but who cares? From Stagecoach to the very end he was the at the top of his profession and we loved him.
Micheal Pate as white as Wayne played native Americans more than any other white man. Eddie Little Sky was one of the first true Natives who acted as such

My dad met John Wayne and sold him two horses, which Mr. Wayne personally checked out by riding them. He really did love the outdoors life and at one time owned a 50,000 acre spread in Arizona and a 2,000 acre spread in California. Wayne was more complicated than the characters he portrays in the movies, but he didn't scorn country folk.

Let's not forget the scene in McClintock where John chases down his wife through the the steers of town, catches her, puts her over his knees and spanks her bottom, teaching her a well deserved lesson. I lo e John Wayne! A true red white and blue American patriot patriot
The great 👍 John Wayne. We’re fortunate to have had him while we did.
Absolutely.
Make America John Wayne again!
Yeehaw!
Now that would be awesome....We would have our way of life and our dignity back...
The wonderful scene from McClintock is a great way to end the video. Thank you 🙏 so much for showing us integrity.
One of his best!
I second that

THANKS TO THE DUKE TRUE PATRIOT FATHER AND ACTOR AMEN 🙏
Hahaha he wouldn't sign up for the service and go to war when all his fellow actors did. He was only a patriot onscreen.
Quite interesting. I remember all the scenes played. I really enjoyed watching Rooster Cogburn and McClintock.
What a privilege. He was an incredible human being and actor.

Two true Americans in my lifetime...
John Wayne and Ronald Reagan 🇺🇸
I mean America isn't that much older

@grassblade63 Amen, brother. Same here.
Hepburn and Wayne had nothing in common from a personal perspective but made a great movie with great dialogue
These are Life Lessons 😎
Number 3 was a true classic, both of film and in real life.
Approved, appreciated and agreed.
You see john wayne,Randolph scott, Allan ladd and Gary cooper. We're all great actors to emulate from . And the likes of Terrance hill and bud Spencer
#1 is the most important of all. The way God intended!!
I cant like it any better than that.

Wayne may be the finest cardboard cutout ever to perform as an actor.
When will you be putting the Cowboy Way on UA-cam so fans like myself who live in Europe can enjoy the show?
No plans on it right now, but we're so happy you enjoy the show.

#5 - I'm pretty sure that was a mule, not a horse
Might I also add to number 5 another mans dog as well as his horse . Dont know what it is about a dog but folks just have to try to touch them .

Wayne could pick good writers.
It starts with the director....
John Ford...
some people don`t seem know about writers

I just sent this to a spam ntf bot under the name Justin Benedict San Jose, California, USA

John Wayne was a coward refused to fight in WW2 because of had flat feet and NO BACK BONE😂😂😂😂

He was embarrassed about his looks, was bald, and wore a hairpiece.
What was ON his head didn't matter, it was what was IN his head that made the difference.
