I absolutely love this guy. The music is great songs all have meaning and well the front man is anything but boring all the haters will hate but as a long time metalhead and old school hard rock lover this type of music is not my usual. I've seen hundreds of shows in my 40 years and I thank my gf for bringing me to see The Gas Light Anthem. Again I absolutely love the front man people get irritated by his antics and his stories but I found him to be one of the most interesting, funny and absolutely gem of a musician. I say f what everyone says . Do not ever change the world needs more people like him. Gas Light Anthem fan for life
Saw them in Philly and at one point early in the set he talked for a good 8-10 minutes, but honestly, I didn’t care. The band sounded incredible, the set was great, and he seemed genuinely happy to be there, happier than any of the other times I’d seen them. After that, they played Blue Dahlia and then proceeded to keep playing banger after banger.

They used to come out after shows for a chat a Brian told us about what a diva Katy Perry is. This is a great song. It's why I love Springsteen, the storytelling. John Mellencamp and Southside Johnny too

I can only assume you just ignored the a boos and many calls from the crowd for him to play some music. The posted rant here is 13 minutes long and far from the only one in the show. He talked way more than any artist I have seen in my 400+ shows and as much as he has talked in an entire tour in the past. That was a disaster and he alienated a lot of fans last night. The show was 110 minutes with 18 songs from a band whose songs are on average less than 4 minutes each. They cut 3 songs from the standard set so Brian could ramble on throughout the show. I felt for the band because it was obvious they were not happy with what was going on. Alex tried several times to get songs started only have Brian ignore him and continue rambling nonsensically. Last I feel bad for you, that your concerrt experience is so limited you think what TGA did at Echo Beach was a good concert. The lead singer insulted the crowd and his own band and shortened his set list so he could ramble on aimlessly for at least 25% of the show. That's not a good concert. Not even close.

Also, you realize people have different opinions right? You seem to think you are correct and no one can say different. I spoke to many people at the show who enjoyed it, people on Reddit as well as a few on this video who enjoyed it. I get someone people didn't like the rants, or the clear disconnect in stage between band mates (which should have been expected), but nothing to lose your mind over... the music was great, its two hours of your life, it can't be that bad... I feel bad for you that you put this much thought into a simple show, relax, it's all good.
I'm so glad someone uploaded this. This 14 minute rant was a running joke at their Detroit show. I personally find Brian's rants hilarious and entertaining. I feel sorry for those of you who were not able to find joy listening to this.
I was right behind the couple in the leather coats, lol. Brian talking too much didn't bother me at all. It made the show a little different than most GLA shows. Loved that he played Mae and Howl, but no American Slang.
Damn. I've been to several Gaslight Shows, a Horrible Crowes gig and a Brian Fallon solo show, and while it can be funny when he rambles on (in Stockholm he talked about how you only need women, crocodiles and koala bears and the world will be fine) this was...a bit much. He could at least have told the story without constantly going on tangents. Obviously the band got frustrated. Bless his heart, but this wasn't his best effort

I love Gaslight, but this was not a good call. Very few acts can get away with lengthy monologues and do it well. Elvis Presley was able to tell the story of his career in Vegas, or even go monologues about karate and other things in Vegas. But he'd inject humour and make it very entertaining. Brian's idol Bruce Springsteen is known for his legendary long shows and lengthy stories. But, there was music behind it and it was presented well. Brian here just sounds like one average guy talking to a bunch of people and nothing else. At least have the band play some music behind it, or rehearse a way to present it. People go to shows they spend their money for, to be entertained. Sure, you can sing and talk about some dark and personal stuff. But it has to be done in an entertaining way. Its about presentation. If he's going to do this again, present it better. Make it entertaining. This was boring and dull. Sorry Brian. It sounds like he has some issues going on. I'm sorry to hear. But let it out in your music, or talk to the audience for a minute or two. But not at length like this. Go see a psychiatrist or something to do that. The audience paid for a concert, not to be Brian's personal therapist. Also, Brian has way too much trust in people to think people won't upload this. This is the age of technology, social media, and the internet. EVERYONE is publicly scrutinized and there are plenty of people who like to exploit others for their own entertainment.
