@@jeremyblackwater439 Yes sir. I usually use PH buffers to raise PH to 8.2 and African Lake Salt for better colors and breeding but it is not necessary. Mbuna if you get them at Pet Co/ Pet Smart places like that keep them in strictly fresh water, no lake salt or PH buffers. That is an AMAZING tank!!!
Fun fact these were Jeffrey Dahmer's favorite fish, he said they acted like miniature dolphins and would take food out of your hand and get excited to see you come home.

Ammonia spikes only happen when there is more bioload than microbes. This is an established tank so unless something catastrophic happens - filters crash - there should be no reason for an ammonia spike.
@@PrimeTimeAquaticsjust did a 29g - 1 electric blue acara, 2 blue dolphins, 2 yellow labs and 2 tropheus morri. black sand, plenty of slate, lace and coral rock....there is no fighting

Ohio Fish Rescue channel is amazing! There are so many beautiful fish there. This tank was custom built for the Bellagio in Vegas by the show Tanked. There is another just like it filled with other fish. They have an awesome collection of fish, almost all of them Rescued. 🙂

Most fish stores have these.
With so many species, do they hybridize when they breed in the tank? Or do they address that somehow? Would love more info on the babies!
Mine usually don’t, but it is possible.
My Africans hybridize. I have OB yellow labs and zebra yellow labs. It's kind of funny. I love the babies regardless and keep them all
People say you shouldnt mix mbuna with peacocks and haps but my tank is evenly mixed and i have absolutely 0 problems.
How to control their fight?
Mostly it’s about picking less aggressive mbuna and over stocking the tank.

For a 20 gallon take a look at shell dwellers? You can keep them long term. Even smaller mbuna will fight in a 20 gallon.
