  • Latest sightings of the young Tsalala sub -adult. What does 2022 hold for this young lone lioness? As we now enter the start of a new year there is much more heightened concern as she sadly appears to be still battling on alone since the passing of her mother in November 2021.
    Once like her legendary mother, she now finds herself lonely, and battling to survive against the many dangers that she now endures without the protection of her mother, and no other pride members.
    In a recent encounter with the Kambula sub adults hunting in the same location, the sighting quickly resulted in a chase from the young Kambula lioness but the young Tsalala lioness managed to escape unharmed and is still successfully managing to survive at this difficult time and doing well without her mother by her side.

      @@BigCatsAndWild The Kambula/Ntsevu subs are pretty ferocious themselves. I saw the longer version of this video: apparently 2 lionesses and 1 male from the Kambula pride. I would assume these 3 are among the 3+ ones in age, based on appearance, but Ms. Tsalala seems more muscular and maybe even slightly larger, and she isn't full grown yet. In the process of establishing territory in 2018 and/or 2019, the Kambulas may have killed 1 of their own Mangheni mothers; this scenario could repeat, but there's room--westward for the young Kambula lioness, and their mothers, well 3 are probably almost in Sabi Sabi and southern Mala Mala with the Ndzengas, while the other 3 are further east with maybe only 4 cubs now. It would be great if Ms. Tsalala could join with Gingerella and Ms. Ximumghe; the Kambulas have been growing up together and are unlikely to let their cousin "in."

      @@paladin3116 of course they do. It might not be the same as people exactly but they do have emotions. It’s apparent if you watch watch animals that they don’t act like robots that feel nothing. Haven’t you ever seen how lions act when they reunite with each other? People who think the way you do about animals have a lot to learn. There is a video on UA-cam of a mother deer crying as people remove her dead baby from the road. Animals are living breathing creatures that certainly do have emotions. I’m sure you have seen or heard of how heartbroken pets can be when they are abandoned. If animals felt absolute nothing they would care nothing for raising their young. If this lioness didn’t miss her mother she wouldn’t be calling out for her. She would just go on her merry way. But she is calling for her. Animals can form bonds too. And forming a bond requires some emotion. Here are other reasons
      1. pets can be overjoyed to see their owners after returning home.
      2. Elephants grieve … when an elephant dies the herd stays around it to mourn for a certain amount of time.
      3. Horror stories of calves being ripped from the mother cow within just a few days of birth. All the mother does for weeks is call out to the calf.
      4. Lioness have been seen fighting fiercely for cubs… sometimes dying in the process.
      A little research will give you many, many more examples.
      All those examples take some level of emotions.

      @private4918 2 роки тому +2

      Because she was in no condition/mood to want to mate--probably pregnant. The Plains Camps got frustrated, probably--they thought they could have a pride of 3, not just 2. The PC males both did have some noticeable scratches afterward that weren't there before, so .... I doubt, but I'm not sure, that the 2 Nkuhuma lionesses showed any signs of having "helped" their new boyfriends. It's like after the OM tragedy, Tinyo showed not significant signs of having "helped" Nhena, who definitely was injured afterwards, limping for 6 weeks; some scratches on Tinyo's back legs were mentioned, but I'm doubtful about that, and it may have been insignificant--how OM put those scratches there in 2 vs. 1 fight would have to be analyzed.

Lions are hardly faithful animals so I’m sure that back in his younger days Nhena also did exactly what N’was are doing with kambulas and plains camp males are doing with the mkuhumas. The kambulas. females have mated with most surrounding males. Nhena has no way of knowing pc males killed lady tsalala , if they even did.

      She is a very good huntress and she had stuffed herself the day before and was still digesting, it seems. She found her stride, her tail stretched out behind her, she looked great, and pulled ahead of her cousin; with an emptier stomach, a quicker escape. The brings to mind the 3 sleepy and full young males [Toulons, I think] that Kinky Tale and Mr. T (Mapogos) surprised. KT and Mr. T may have been lucky that time that they were not in condition to want to fight, but ran.

      @private4918 2 роки тому +2

      @@MightNotches There are 2 things here. First, we absolutely cannot know that with any certainty, that Ms. Kambula/Ntsevu would've outrun Ms. Tsalala. Do you know of any speeds both lionesses have been clocked at before? It's like when people, including John Varty, who didn't "see" or "hear" it, firmly believe the Birminghams killed the Ottawa male with no conclusive hard proof--he probably had a fight with Nhena on his way home and was killed by hyenas in an injured condition--and when people firmly believe that Mr. T was "darted" so he couldn't "help" Kinky Tale in time. Second, is that if indeed the Kambulas wanted to seriously fight with or kill Ms. Tsalala, probably all 3 of them at the scene would've gone after her, 1 could maybe have gone around a bit, and they could've got her in a quash effect from 2 angles--the Majingilanes might really have deiberately split up through the geographical features and done a quash on Kinky Tale, and yes, the Majs AND other lions, also wolves and dogs, can be "smart" enough to do this--Kinky Tale became like another antelope or buffalo.

It’s hard to live without a pride but these lionesses willing to take risk just so their cups don’t get killed. I understand we should let nature takes it course but if the lioness doesn’t let the nature takes it course and evolve enough to care for their cups, we need to intervene. Those dam ticks !!! Had them a handful of times and first didn’t do the ole heat to back em out and scratched it off to leave a faint mark that faded, The Lyme virus right ? Is another factor here in our Calif mountains and foothills that actually resemble parts of Africa, That’s what I watch more than anything is the dynamics of the lions and the other species of indigenous wildlife there, Being in the parks to Natural Resources myself and we lived in some beautiful country growing up with a second home a semi remote log cabin 35 miles from Yosemite valley ( not crowded as there) and the Merced river came down from the hills behind the cabin with nothing for so far I still don’t know, You get corridors that are that untouched , Clear beautiful stream with wild trout to mink , Mountain lions you see on tv are usually juveniles ran into suburban areas. The big resident males run a quite huge territory and I saw one backpacking alone during a close to full moon way up and back , I don’t know how a tick on that lioness got off track like this is 😂! Sorry 😞, Plan one day to go there and visit and my knowledge by watching sites I deem educational as well as places will be a factor in picking where. Have a friend across Krugers Crocodile bridge just a short distance who has a lot of the wildlife in his yard to lions waking him out back off the dirt rd, My first vehicle was a Jeep I had a v-6 with overdrive and winch and would put the windshield down and tie off with a bandana and go deep and like you guys do but be respectful of the wildlife and environment too, As you guys know there’s more to buying it , Takes a lot to be competent in reading the terrain , Alone with a broken axle in a topless vehicle as the predators with better vision awake to hunt would be a nightmare and no way to call for help !!!! The recent rains there and cyclone Freddy sure must be making it green and the herbivores are in a state of bliss until an alarm call ! Be safe and thanks for taking care of our resources that need it really bad !! Sincerely Kevin Standow .

    With the new dynamics a year later, what remains of the Ottawa Pride having lost their mother Sassy, a Sister and Older Lionesses around the same age. They are often with their expelled Tumbela Male. With so much in common, the are giving Pride Vibes💞 Tsalalas and Othawas are Mapogo Granddaughters, with Majingalane Daddy's, and Dominant Male Tumbela to the Othawas also Mating with Tsalala Queen. In My Spilt Milk Fantasy, it would have been perfect if the two Prides could have joined. In 2023 the remaining young Lionesses could join Tsalala Princess who has excelled at surviving and thiving the odds. Maybe Tumbela could join Mowhawk Avoca or Red Road Male if these guys can prioritize goals after years of Dominating Prides. PCM are causing havoc and the Lionessesunder their watch seem to be coping, but not loving them.

      There is a couple of theories: that the plains camp males killed her by themselves, the plains camp males along with the 2 nkuhuma females they hang out with did it or hyenas. I doubt hyenas though as there were bite marks on the back of her neck and that means it was prob a lion. I guess it could have been
      another lion but since plains camp males and the 2 females were not too far from her carcass they are the top suspects, without any proof of course.
