Never been to Hellfest but after watching this it's now definitely on the list. Great video my friend 🤘🏻.
Best festival ever. Just got back from my 3rd time in a row. Caught Covid while I was there, but well worth it!
@@Aeronaut1975 Pareil que toi ! 3ème HellFest, covid donc pas de 2ème weekend... 😪 Mais vive le BM ! 🤘🖤

I'm from Germany and I have to say that compared to Hellfest, Wacken is a joke. Hellfest best Festival ever.
Definitely need to go there. Thanks for showing me this. Hell or high water, next year..🤘🏽
Honestly, thank you for this. I live in the states and don't have means to go. I was always so curious, as I've heard so much about it. I really appreciate the walk through.
Dang, was thinking of sacking Download off and doing this next year. Glad i watched this first. Looks like 2000 trees on steroids, nothing wrong with it, just not for me. Thank you for uploading (and saving me a fortune, lol).
A sea of black shirts. This was cool to watch. I've always wanted to go over there for this festival.
im sorry may i guess that you can walk around with backpacks only infront of the stage area right?
Hellfest 's atmosphere is like a amusement park
Would you say this event is disabled friendly for a metal head who requires a mobility scooter to get around? Thank you in advance!
Quite so. I've seen pictures where people carry a guy in a wheelchair above their heads up to the front and everybody around cheering. The guy in the chair seemed to have a hell of a time. And people there really care about anyone in trouble. Good community in Clisson.
@@DH007-w2d Excellent, thank you!
Definitely, one of our group has a wheelchair and there are a lot of others there the same, everyone is very accommodating and the grounds are easy to traverse with the wheelchairs. Disabled toilets, PMR areas, etc. The festival is top class in every respect.
Yes, absolutely! Best organised festival I've ever been to.
Just saw a dude in wheel-chair in video.
Great !!! Thanks!!!
Someone should make a video like this for Metaldays next year...I'll get wasted very soon so I think I won't be sober to do it
Thx bro
what band is playing on 9:00 ?
Where all the black folk at? .)
Reason why everyone is getting along..no shootings like Rap shows..except for Eagles of Death Metal.
Im gona be there in 2024 🤘
fuckya, will have to plan for next year, coming from Mexico
Did y’all see me? I’m in the black shirt.
To anyone whove been in both.. Hellfest or Wacken?
What’s the weather temp? It looks warm 🥵
It was the first week end that was very hot (38°-40° on saturday)
That’s warm 👍
Thanks
No, thanks. Cliché.

8:00 haha we've all been there.
Never been to Hellfest, but the look of it, the setup and facilities leaves somewhere like Download for dead. Would love to go!
Do yourself a favor, visit Hellfest. I've seen many, many festivals, in Germany, England, the Netherlands, Belgium, but there's no place like Hellfest. I'm from Germany and we have to drive 1300 kilometers to Hellfest, a long way, but this festival is worth it.
Metalheads are the best humans… my people 🤘
Same.
You can tell it's Europe because there is no fat people anywhere. 😁
:D
Or Black people lol
I saw some...
@@hkrug666 too much beer :)
This place looks like Disneyland for Metalheads! Nice set up. Are the grounds kept like this year round or is the area used for something else between fests?
They purchased the land last year, so is available to visit all year round.
@@Aeronaut1975 But what goes on there when there is no Hellfest? Do they use it for other festivals or events?
@@hkrug666 only for hellfest festival.
I'm so going next time I didnt know about hellfest till on my UA-cam account.
@@rutgerhoekstra1666 Thanks!
I've been to this festival since 2007 (14 times at all) and saw it change to become bigger, improve in quality, comfort, and having set list of bands each time more insane than before.
It's an excellent festival if you love metal music, hardcore, punk, hard rock, and even lots of styles related to it (progressive rock, blues rock, electro wave, etc...)
Their set list is amazing, and they always have 3 stages playing at the same time.
Yet be warned:
1/ If you love various styles of metal music you are going to have a very hard time making your choice between the bands you might want to check, since they have really quality bands all over the place
2/ This is not Wacken or Graspop, it's Hellfest and it's in France, and France is the least Heavy Metal country in Europe. If you came to Hellfest by 2006-2014 then you would have been plunged into a deep heavy metal crowd who knows their bands, the music they listen and shit.
Not anymore. HF is now invaded by french tourists and casuals who litteraly know NOTHING about heavy metal. And they are not interested into becoming metalheads either (they keep coming back years after years and haven't listen to a single album since then). They're just here to enjoy the show, take a good time at Metal Land (that's how they see the festival), and will have poor reactions during the shows: Gun's n Roses? They wont sing a song since they don't know any. Iron Maiden? They don't know any song either. Scorpions? They know "Still Loving you" and "Winds of change" and that's it. Metallica? They will sing the sentence "Exit Light, Enter Night" and "And Nothing Else Matters" but they will have no clue what's playing on when they get to see and hear Creeping Death, Seek and Destroy or Master of Puppets. And we could go on (Judas Priest, Alice Cooper, Motorhead, Black Sabbath, etc... They just are ignorant, and year after year they come back, and still haven't managed to check out these bands, despite knowing the set list 9 months before the festival's opening)
When you go to Festivals such as Wacken or Graspop, you expect all the people in a radius of 50 m around the stages to know their classics when it comes to the main Heavy metal bands (I've been there, I know) and sing along, at least the chorus. You're not going to see this in HF.
You will still find some metal heads to keep the core of the show intact, but they are in minority now (since HF is the place to be for all the french non metal heads), and you are more likely to cross them under the Altar (Death metal and Thrash Metal scene), the Temple (Black Metal and Folk Metal Scene) and the Valley (Doom and Stoner Scene).
In my experience, you can have a crowd of metalheads gathering for a good show on the mainstage (it happened last weekend for Blind Guardian) but overall you are more likely to end up lost in the middle of a bunch of non metal listeners, which you just might annoy if you sing too loud or headbang too heavy (Happened of Guns n Roses and Metallica).
Aside those two issues, I have nothing to say about this increadible festival. Try it, come in numbers especially if you are not from France (for you have to be a metalhead to travel for a festival such as this one), and you won't regret it!
I'm french and I totaly agree every word you wrote. The crowd changed so much in Hellfest through years but it is still an amazing place I love to go.
Cheers
It's also perhaps some like me are more interested in modern metal band and don't care about the old people like scorpion or gun's and roses. Their show are shit, they lost their voice and only keep playing for old farts.
I avoid the mainstage and prefer to stay on temple, altar and the valley where there is good metal.
This exactly was my suspicion looking the crowd before reading your post, too many people whos clothing dont match with the scene. Wonder why they bother to come, tickets aint cheap and if they dont even like the music, so why then. Funny, all those saying "lot of black shirts", well I was in Tuska Festival this year and gotta say it was quite different lol.
@@samimannila5671 It's not that they don't like the music, it's just that they aren't passionate by it. They just listen to it live 3 days in a year when they come to this festival, but don't really care about buying an album an learn the songs they will never fall in love with (the way we, metalhead did).
Still probably amazing place to be and do things, to fest 🙂🙂. In this summer i was in 2 metal festivals Tuska (20 000 per day) and John Smith (5000 per day) and it occured me good festival is not only about good organisation or good bands or cheap beer. Its the metal family that makes those events meaningful for me. I can go to talk random people about music, and he/she knows right away what im talking about. No point, just saying what i miss most from those festivals, like minded people. @@MoreAwsomeMetal
Amazing how clean the grounds are, respect for the concert goer's for keeping it clean.
My gut feeling is that it's not thanks to staff but people who attended to this amazing event. They care. If it was some woke BS event/rainbow flag parade, it would look like one big dump.
For those who haven't been to hellfest. This is only the main area. This does not include metal corner or HellCity (both also have a mini stage, bars, food, merch etc).
Rock in Rio , fica no chinelo . Hell fest é muito bom e incrível. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷

Greatest festival in France, from far away 🇨🇵
Best in the World I'd say!
Cool vidéo, cheers. At 12:28, I spotted a neighbour-mate and the wife. I'm gonna tell him... A word about what the Hellfest had became in the area. I live in Nantes, the big city close to Clisson. I used to spend many week-end nearby so I've seen it (but never been as I'm not sure about that music) growing. I remember the first years. People were scared at first. Satanists in a conservative place. Hello. Then, the secound year, the weather was nasty, rainy, cold. People opened their houses for those seeking shelter. And started to say how well mannered, friendly those strange Hellfesters were. Now ? It's a love affair. From each side. A big, big up to Ben Barbaud who was, and is, mad enough to have dreamed and done this. Who could have bet, twenty years ago, that Clisson would be internationaly known. 🤘🏳️🌈😇

Every year the average age of metalheads rises...
Awesome, reminds me of the large outdoor American festivals of many years ago. Love all the black t-shirts! Also, noticed you can take in packs/bags. Thanks, for taking the time to show us. I've always wondered. Who ever promotes this definitely puts in a lot of time & effort. Wow, sounds great! You Europeans know how to freakin ROCK! Miss this!!
One of the absolute best places for Metal n Rock N Roll! Wacken live in Germany used to be the main but i would say HellFest surpassed them.
I've been to Hellfest 5 times. It's just unbelievable experience.
Me only 4 times...and I miss It so much!

Très bonne vidéo
Merci beaucoup
J'y étais, superbe ambiance !!!!
Caramba uma pequena cidade do metal ! muito legal !
Been twice from the U.K.,there is no other festival like it,it’s superb.
Remember watching Bolt thrower in one of the large tents at 11 pm.
Then monster magnet in another late at night.
What I will say though when I sent it was too hot and very dusty,I bit like this years condition.I spose it’s better than rain and mud but there’s wasn’t much shade you could go and chill out for a rest.
But yeah it’s the best festival in the world, download isn’t a patch on it not only for the layout and facilities Hellfest has but the number of quality bands it gets. From the big guns to smaller bands.
And when I mean smaller bands, ones like bolt thrower, abbath,Goatsnake, sick of it all etc all all playing on different stages.
Only thing is you can get a lot of clashes and miss a few bands.
Yeah, my one thought from watching this video is that it looks absolutely hot there and with very little shade except for the VIP area which he showed in another video. Hopefully they install more shades and maybe plant some large trees for future years.
60 000 best friends !!!!
Metalheads are the coolest!
Great Foottage, thx an ton! As stoneold Wacken Lover, i always love to go to Hellfest, even as A German beeing not the most welcome in France for my personal Feel. As soon you cross the Gates, just unique Atmosphere. And your Video shows how careful the vast Majority acts, no litter on walkway, and they are just that, walkways no barriages by sitting ppl aso. And ocf Metalfest Standards.: Kids, all Colours, all Styles, from Punk to Trashmetalfans.Loud as Hell.
Your walk shows the Dimensions, thx again:)
Is that Battle Beast I can hear in the beginning of the video ? 😍
Yup. I caught that too.
This is the coolest thing I have ever seen. Would absolutely LOVE to go!! Thank you so much for sharing.
I'm going next summer and super excited already. I went to Wacken this year and it was a stinking filthy swamp 😞 some good bands, a lot of crap, the HF lineup was way superior. Won't make that mistake again!
You're gonna love it, we are going again our third year in a row. It's a fantastic festival, always has a brilliant line up and the way it's ran is just phenomenal. You won't be disappointed
Thank you for your share video, i live in 🇮🇩, we also have metal fest called Hammersonic on 2023, slipknot, trivium, Suicide silence, black flag, comeback kid, sinister, and many more Will performance, we can learn from hellfest how should big festival like.
So nice that this video was recorded while Battle Beast was playing, they’re awesome!
Battle Beast playing in background
I've never attended a metal music festival, but I'm shocked at how little trash is on the ground. If there were that many people at a concert here in the US it would look like a garbage dump. It's become really woke and entitled here. Kudos to the Euro metal fans for taking personal responsibility and not trashing the place!
The maintenance and upkeep is unreal, never any litter, it's incredible. If in Ireland where I'm from the outcome would be the same as most festivals, a complete trash heap.
wow this is amazing. Would travel from south Florida to visit this one day hopefully!!
Quand la nuit vient c est encore plus fantastique c est un autre festival pour moi
Thank you for sharing this. I'd got a picture in my mind of what Hellfest was and I never imagined such a fantastic set up. Sure looks like Hellfest takes the crown as the greatest metal festival on the planet .....
... having said that it's alarming to me that such a large percentage of the crowd aren't interested in the bands currently playing. When I'm at a festival I'm there to see as much music as possible, downtime kept to the absolute bare minimum.
7 days straight? I'd be one of the dudes relaxing waiting for my next fav \m/
You talk like a man that never been in a music festival.
it was battlebeast, i would not watch either
I went there with the same eagerness, but it's very tiring. There are bands on all the time, sometimes 3 or 4 at the same time, you can't listen to them all. People are relaxing between sets, grabbing a bite to eat or making there way to their chosen stage for their favourite band.
many people many bands three to four days long. This year, for a hole week. I can tell you that every single concert is allways crowded. But you need also to get around and have some rest. Its just turning. The walk here have not focus on stages. There are two other stages that was not filmed here.. so the impression is not fully accurate. What I can tell, is that this is clearly the best ultimate metal festival i every been to
Thank you for sharing. I was there during this incredible last weekend. It's a very good idea to show everyone who doesn't know the site (so I'm going to share your video!). Maybe you know it but this place is open to the public the rest of the year. Again thank you!
