This is another Austin original. The reference Tim made "Mr. DJ I have a bone to pick with you" is about the fact their music has never been played on the radio. Love your reactions!
A great original written by Austin and his pals. A nice, sly pole in the eye of the radio programmers who don't/won't play them. Love Austin's Willie Nelson impersonation.
Our "Fabulous Five" definitely deserve so much more exposure and fame! But we Home Fries appreciate that the guys continue to stay grounded and approachable even as their stars continue to rise❣️🎼🥰🎶❤ Wishing our Home Free fellas all the success and fame they desire 🤩
Austin (Willie Nelson) wrote this song. It’s a fun one. None of the a cappella groups is on the radio and they should be. Home Free is so good. They’ve been writing songs like crazy lately. Yeah the little boy was reminiscent of Babe Ruth. Check out a song Chance wrote (he has short dark hair) for the new pirate game (by Ubisoft) called Skull and Bones. Ubisoft saw the Sea Shanty Medley Home Free did during Covid that went viral and they asked Chance to write a song for their new game. Lots of bass in it. It’s fire!🥰
These guys are labeled a country acapella group, but they don't just do country everything and there is no style of country that they do. It's a mix and their own style. They are unique in that they take pop music and make it sound like a solid country song like John Mayer's "In The Blood" cover (and Rob sings) and they can also take a country song and add a different style to it like "Blue Ain't Your Color" (Rob leads it), and MayDay (Rob has a solo part) where it really doesn't sound country. They have also done other genres, even 2 of them, the tenors (Rob included) did an opera song together "Nessun Dorma" (It's called 2 country boys try singing opera) but usually, they add their country flair into songs somewhere, their country style is just really who they are, you have men born and raised in Texas, Alabama, and Georgia in the group...and 2 are from Minnesota where the group originated. (Rob included). check out any of these covers I mentioned above if you'd like, if you want originals check out "Dive Bar Saints" if you want more of a country sound and "Playing with Fire" written by Austin (but Rob starts off leading it) if you want a not so country sounding song.
Yes A J. Tim is from South East Texas, and Austin is from South Georgia, with Chance comes from Lower Alabama. And if you want Rump to really 🤯 blow your minds you all have to see them live! Rump always does a Drum Solo and Tim will have you rolling with the rumble. The floor actually shakes on his awesome lows!
Yay for Home Free originals! There are so many great ones! Playing with Fire (written by Austin) is a recent release. Land of the Free (Tim) for a patriotic song. Another great Tim original-So Long Dixie. When it comes time for Christmas, you gotta do Snow Globe (Tim) and Cold Hard Cash (Austin)!
I remember practicing my batting skills with many objects! Rocks were fun but I think walnuts still in their green skin were my favorite because I didn't get in trouble from those getting hit by the lawn mower! 😂
I love this song & video - including the names & songs of country artists is such clever song writing! Austin's braids are a nod to Willie Nelson. The boys playing baseball reference Babe Ruth (the clothes & the way the batter points out where the ball will go) - the scenes with the boys are sepia toned to reflect the era. Of course the singing & harmonies are terrific & Adam's outdone himself again on the beatboxing! There are live (audience taken) videos of Adam Rupp's "drum" solos that are mind-blowing.
We think he was referring to Willie Nelson. All the names that they mentioned in he lyrics were musical artists. But baseball players was where Ogre's head was at for a moment, too.
The lyrics were originally "will you remember my name?" but when he went to record it he wanted it to be a lot more assertive and positive so he changed it to "You WILL remember my name" and I think that made all the difference. Something I have noticed WRT the reactions to "Remember my Name" - no one has commented on how Austin and Andrew managed to incorporate so many direct references to the music of Luke, Garth, and Willie. I had to research Luke's stuff because I am not as familiar with his work as the other two, and I think I am missing a couple of the Garth ones, too, but they did an amazing job, and I wish it was recognized more.
@@bethcoussou Andrew Tufano, Austin's co-writer on this and a few other songs - Give me a Sign, Save the World, and Playing with Fire on this album, and a number of Austin's solo releases, too.
Home free shares the lead in their songs! Everyone gets a chance to shine. If you like Adam Rupps beatboxing listen to his recorded drum solo… AMAZING! Listen to Home Free singing American pie with Don McClean! Each band has a Solo! Listen to Rob & Austin in “”End of the Road” & in “Nessom Dorma” singing Opera! Tim in Your Man( crazy life on stage) & “Folsom Prison”; & Chance “I Can’t Outrun You” & “Finally Free”! Nice Reaction
Hoping you do “Playing with Fire” next. It was released right before “Remember My Name”. But it’s an smooth, more R&B vibe. Rob starts out, then Austin leads with interesting stuff from Adam. I appreciate you guys. Thanks.
Y'all need to react to an Adam Rupp drum solo. I prefer the one from 2015, to start with, he's wearing a red plaid flannel shirt. Have you listened to their version of God Bless the USA, with Lee Greenwood ans The Singing Sergeants? Adam's drums are PERFECT! Also, I'm happy to find some people that don't care for "poppy" country😊
This was an Austin Brown original, which I'd imagine is a big reason why he was the main lead on the song. Though Tim did a great job as always (It's Tim, ofc he slayed his verse =p) But yes, Rob was more background vocals and instrumentation on this one. They all take turns covering instrumentation depending on the song and what it calls for. If you're looking for something with Rob as the central lead, I'd recommend an older number of theirs, 9 to 5. It's REALLY well done. Regardless, great reaction and looking forward to more! Have a good one guys!
@@chrismorin1318 If it were up to me (it's not lol xD) I'd do both the official video AND the beatbox breakdown live version in the same reaction. Both are amazing! :)
Another great original by HF. What another great original song! Love the nostalgic feel of this song & the video. They mention a few of the country greats in this song. Also think it is a nod to the great baseball legend Babe Ruth. Austin sings about Willie (Nelson) at one point. Think his braids are an homage to Willie. Love Tim's lower tone in the verse he sings. And Adam is awesome as usual. These guys are so talented & in a league by themselves.
I found it really scary that you guys got all cancel-ly when you heard certain names. Home Free like to try different styles, different genres. They've done R&B, rock, even opera. They've also given voice through their songs to what they believe in. So buckle up.
Not so much cancel-ly as just being put on alert. There's a couple artists that they mentioned that we are not fans of. It was a visceral reaction about those artists and not about Home Free. As always, we loved their song.

I do think Austin looking like Willie is most deliberate.

1.68 million to be exact
This song has so much swagger. Austin wrote a good one.
I'm not fond of it. It's OK. not great, not inspirational, not anything really.
@@whyme7996 To each their own.

I love the video!!
I love Home Free! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Every day, every hour I always remember their name!
Their name is etched in my brain!
If you like Garth Brooks "Friends in Low Places", Home Free does a cover of that.
It's awesome, & the video is hilarious! ❤

I liked how they referenced Georgia on my Mind when they said Willie there at the last.
no, it is "Always on my Mind" - although Georgia does have that line, too.
@@nancyholter5646 I was sleepy when I posted and was wondering why it didn't sound right! 😆

Willie hitting home runs in 1975? Hall of famer Willie Stargell. ⚾⚾⚾ Love the performance and your reaction.
