Hi Josh, I saw this was a 2021 tutorial, so I followed meticulously. When I did a 'view as' to ensure it was down to the bare minimum, I discovered ALL was still visible! Then, I realized I was using Dissenter at the time of the changes, not Microsoft Edge. I've also learned that Edge doesn't offer FB Container, nor could I find it available for Dissenter? If you even see & read this late summer 2021 comment, will you be so kind as to offer advice on both counts? I sure would appreciate it. I really like your teaching style, by the way. Slow & easy, good for this 65 year old!
Hey there! Glad you found the tutorial useful. Honestly, I'm not too familiar with the Dissenter browser, but in this case it shouldn't matter too much. The FB Container extension stops FB from tracking you across the web, but it has no impact on your "view as". You'll want to go through your privacy settings again and make sure that it's set to the strictest settings. You can also try to view it from another browser or incognito window to see what your page looks like to somebody who isn't in your network. I hope that helps in some way!

i realize there is a legitimate need to restrict access to personal data, but I can't help but think of it this way: I am one of millions, or even billions?, of users on facebook. or to use google. or whatever. I honestly don't think they're that interested in ME as an individual. ie. if I, or you?, had an ant farm with a million ants, would you seriously give a hoot about any single ant, other than possible the queen? Hey Jesse, you're right - Facebook might not care that much. But in the case of social media, it's not Facebook that I'm worried about. It's the fact that any guy who gets mad at me can look me up on Facebook, find out where I live and who my wife is, where she works, and then go harass us. Or a company can do background research on me without my permission. Does that make more sense?

This video is over 3 years old... any changes? I use the Brave browser, if that better than Firefox? Also in FB locations, I like turning it on to find local events (FB seems to be the ONLY social media where events can be planned & shared) BUT the setting can be set to "Approximate" which finds your geographic area. "Precise" can identify your exact area, where your house is, and of course this should be turned off.
Most of my setting are the same as your but more restricted. I never change that for the past few months. Thanks for the setting that i didnt know about.

The current menu systems don't look like this. Also, changing settings to "only me" or "friends" doesn't work either. Selecting options doesn't seem to have any effect. When I log out and look at my profile as a stranger, everything is still visable. Facebook is trash.
Hey there, very helpful video! I do have a slight problem when it comes to Facebook Live videos (more specifically, gaming streams). Every time I react on my favorite streamer's live videos or make comments on it during the live, Facebook always shows it on my friends' newsfeeds and it's really disturbing (eg. 'My Name added 3 comments'). I know it's sort of a way for streamers to get more recognized but is there a way for me to turn those off while still commenting and reacting to the streamer I'm following? Thanks!

I don't think so, Cindy. It's certainly possible, but there are a lot of times where these social platforms change their features or limit features to certain groups as they test them. I don't think it's a punishment.

I love receiving friend requests from scammers. I usually humiliate the scammer and try to hack their profile before blocking them. Ain't saying if I've actually hacked into any scammer profiles but usually the scammer profile is deleted within hours of my interaction with them. I swear I don't release the personally identifiable information of scammers in India and Nigeria to public forums and other pages on facebook.

You can create a specific subset of your friends on Facebook (i.e. family or close acquaintances), but you can't just choose specific people who you aren't connected with.

No offense, but, it seems as if you've got a lot to hide. And people who have a lot to hide, usually also have a lot to pretend about, a lot of deceptive intentions, and misleading posturing. Internet security is all G, but the fact that you keep your likes a secret, is a very big, very red flag. Lol, Js.
Keeping my likes a secret from the global public? I don't think that's too much to hide. My friends and connections can still see it, but I have the right to say that all of this isn't public information and that's definitely not deceptive.

Definitely not. What you do on your personal privacy settings will not affect your business page at all.

To set limit my past posts, does this include posts in groups?
Groups also determine whether posts are public or private.

It might. Have you considered using “Find My Phone” or the Android equivalent instead of Facebook?

Yea, we're not controlling the algorithm (i.e. who among your friends sees your post), we're just controlling your privacy.

Is Facebook Purity is the equivalent of FB Container for Brave/Chromium?
Not exactly the same. The FB container is meant to make sure the Facebook pixel can't follow you around.
