- In today's video, I use the Canon R6 Mark II and the lens that I call the chonk. It's the Rf 28-70 f/2 L USM. I went to the Downtown area of Chattanooga, Tenessee on a rainy morning and did street photography. I had a nice time, I'm thankful for the weather sealing of my Canon camera and lens as well as the Patagonia Torrent Shell 3L jacket that I was wearing.

Great video Phil. It feels like going out for a photoshoot with a brother or a cousin. Love your step by step description and your sense of humor
Thank you! This is a wonderful comment.
The fire hydrant shots are cool. 👍🏽 Don’t care what David says 😂🤣. Yea David!!! 😆
Thank you! I really do enjoy making photos of them. I can't explain why but I do think they look cool. Especially from a low angle and with a bokehfied background. I need to do another photo walk with David soon!
Great video, thank you. I have a question. I use the Canon R6 Mark II and the Rf 28-70 f/2 L USM and the majority of my pictures are out of focus. Any advice of why this is happening ?
@@Daniel-qg4mf thank you! it’s all about making sure the focus point is on the place that you want to be in focus focus when you press the shutter. Also, I would definitely not recommend using single auto focus, make sure you are using servo for best results in my opinion.
hi Phill, am planining to upgrade from my nikon z50 and am thinking of switching to canon, the colors i think look good in canon
@@africah_beauty I like the colors on both Canon and Nikon.
An interesting and eye pleasing tour through the rainy streets. As I have an almost pathological dislike (or fear?) of pointing my camera at strangers, I applaud your ability to do so, glad no one gave you a hard time about it. Great vidao, but how about next time you get some fire hydrant shots ? lol
lol! Thank you!
Nice street photos! I like those fire hydrant shots. Do you like the 28mm on the wide end or do you miss the extra 4mm of a 24-70?
Thank you! I didn’t miss it on this photo walk but I’m sure I would miss it on some occasions.
Great video Phil. Looks like a nice town👍
Thank you !
I have been considering that lens. I would think it might be good for using in gyms for basketball, but dont seem to see any videos on this use. I would maybe kick it up to f2.8 for basketball to widen the depth. I was thinking you might need that umbrella hat for rainy days. A big enough one to have the camera covered. Forget that idea if it is windy lol
I hope to use it for basketball and volleyball over the coming months months.
@@PhilThach anxious to see how it works say verses the 24-70 f2.8. Thinking astro too but not wide enough at 24mm maybe>
“Gynecologist” Ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!! That had me dying. 😆
Heather laughed at that one too. So at least two people thought it was funny. :)
Great job on the video Phil. Thanks for sharing your pics. Cheers 🙏
Thank you, Adrian!
Did you hire a wedding photographer?
Yes! A local Z6 II shooter.

Phil nice photo walk. That 28-70 did a great job. But, man it’s huge for a street photographer lens. Sometimes when you’re in Chattanooga see if you can get a photo of a fire hydrant.😂
That's true, it is a little on the large side. I think I'm going to enjoy using it for photo walks even though it is large. I like the f/2 look with the soft backgrounds and great separation. I think a lot of street work is f/8 and all in focus so maybe bokehfied street shots are starting to become my style. Maybe.
Really good work. I struggle alot with street photography and weird i am also working on a street photography video. Nothing as good as yours though 😂 thanks for sharing
Thank you! I’m sure yours will be good! ✅
Another great video Phil. My first thought at 7:21 with the Detour Ahead sign was it looked like a gyno exam and when you said it, cracked me up! I never get tired of yours or David’s street photography videos!
Thanks, George! :)
I quite enjoyed the Chattanooga walkabout, thanks for sharing!
Thank you, Todd!
Looks like the 28-70 held up well in the rain! Good job!
Thanks! Cheap lenses worry me in the rain but Canon L series lenses don’t. Or not much anyway. :)
I just noticed, the tops of fire hydrants looks like fire fighter helmets.
There's always something to see in a fire hydrant photo! :) That's a great observation.
Thanks Phil, love rainy photos ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you!
Great video Phil, love your street photogtraphy videos.
Thank you! I should do them more often.
Thanks! 👍🏼
Thank you!
