- A lot of people see my motocross bikes, truck videos, stuff on instagram, one of the 10 vehicles ive owned or street bikes, rzr, quads, boats and ask what i do for work... so heres this video :)
Derricking at an oil rig Derrick hand brandon lucas gopro
this is a Service rig, an oil rig. if your looking into getting into some sort of oil feild work expect the 12 to 16 hour days, climbing 20 meters in the air, throwing pipe laying down 300 tubing of 3 1/2 by 9 meters long. this video is just to show some of the common duties we do daily in the oil feild and for fun, i love my job, currently only make about $32 an hour and abour 47hr ot whereas the driller, push and consultant make more, upwards $1000+ a day. moved to saskatchewan and alberta area from vancouver island where everyone talks about the rigs but has no idea what goes on. hot summer days, cold -30 snowy weather, leave home sometimes at 4am sometimes not home until 11pm or 21 days. this is not a Drilling rig, this is a Service rig where we come in, change pumps, fix holes in tubing or underground, fish broken rod, pull wet and many other things associated with the oil feild. this is just a slow short edit of one days footage on a service oil rig, SINGLE as we were nearly done for the day and working with rod at the moment. hope you like this video and if you dont have too much understanding of what goes on out here maybe you might now.. because before i moved out here, i could not find ANY decent videos to show my friends or family and people ask what i do, dont mind the music, if you dont like it put it on MUTE, thanks! typed up in about 2 minuites so dont mind all the errors lol cheers
i love that sound when the travelling blocks go up brings back memorys
Ohhh damn!!! Pulling triples on a double bull shit production rig. Nice set-up with the pickle bottle stand.
I didn't see the peddle for the air ram up and down, the horn that is used to give the ok to the operator nowadays. Instead of hitting on the structure.
Good job, road snapper 💪 be safe 👍
Love the rod box pulling triples so chill especially when the crew have to bust out collars that are corroded as fuck 😂😂 cream gig
Only been in the stick a few times to pull back 5 on a single at that, this would have me sick to my stomach and trembling in the knees.
Heights was never my thing but I do wanna check it out up there one day.
GODDAM PICKLE BOARD! I DONT MISS IT!
Whenever my hands are dry, I watch videos like this.
#TerrifiedOfHeights
When I chose to be a slave, I loved what I did

Yeah its pretty much slave work except the pay makes up for it
We rode the blocks up to the rod basket no time to waste , had another well to go to ,,,

Never the rungs. We didn’t have safety line.
do they still call the rod basket the penalty box
Wish my consultant was that cool you can settle beef behind the doghouse but the second there’s a camera or phone he goes nuts
Go pro, hero session, consultant was really awesome. 🔥
I hated sucker rods worked in Wyoming in the 80s in the crow nest
I imagine this is not the place to be in a lightning storm.
That's good one!.........Former joke writer for Jay Leno?
No it is not. If you can see lightning, then it can strike you.

We usually shut down if there's bad lightning bit if it's within 10 miles we have to take a 30 minute break and if it happens again during that 30 you reset the timer till it runs out
Thats a shallow well not too many triples
I sow a man that was lifted to the derrick with the crane.
I rode the blocks up a time or two. Not the safest company ha
@@amansizedduck yes the block that is the way you call it, moving block, thanks for respond.
Hell ya I'm finished with that shit
I fukn miss it . Ill never go back.
Damn small rig!
Got to the tubing board in 2 secs! Lol

if theres a blowout how do you fly down to the earth?
They have a zip line to ground in case of a blowout
Geronimo is a line that will guide you dow and far from the rig is very scary but much better than the fact of what could be if an emergency occurs
Slm kolay gelsin
Yo bro what kind of go pro is that
Go pro Hero Session. About 2" wide cube go pro, can face any direction.
