      We’ve been considering the Lawrence HDS live 12 would you recommend us for entry-level users?
      We would also like a unit that works well with our 2022, 200 horses Suzuki

    Only few beta-testers used PRO, we don't excatly what will been release on 23.1 software for Live units, so there's more questions than answers....

      I feel like there's enough info out there to make an informed decision. Anything else is just icing on the cake.

    in Australia right now we can get the Live 12 for AUD $2999 vs $4999 for the HDS Pro. For the amateur angler, I am thinking of keeping $2k saving and going with the live. Is that wise given the tech is already a few years old however as you say the screen res and a lot of features are still the same? Thanks for your advice.

      The Live is a great value! I wouldn't hesitate pulling the trigger on one!

      You should be good to go after the software update. I'm not aware of any other features that you aren't able to take advantage of

    For HDS PRO,, do I need to purchase the module as well or just the active target 2

    • @BehindTheReelFishing
      @BehindTheReelFishing  11 місяців тому

      Active Target 2 always requires the module. When people are talking about not needing a module with the Pro they are referring to the S3100 which is for the new HD transducer (down/side imaging)

    So I’m confused ? So do I need a module for the hds pro ?
    or is it just the older models ? Thanks

    • @BehindTheReelFishing
      @BehindTheReelFishing  Рік тому

      You only need an S100 module for the Pro if you want fish reveal on side scan. You also have to purchase the appropriate transducer to get fish reveal on side scan. Holler if you have any questions 316-313-4113 ext 407

    If Im buying a lowrance unit strictly for down and side imaging will I see any difference at all on the display with the Live vs Pro?

    • @BehindTheReelFishing
      @BehindTheReelFishing  Рік тому

      The screen resolution is the same so if they are running the same transducers there would be no difference. The benefit for the Pro is that it will run the new Active Imaging HD transducer and the LIVE requires the $950 S3100 module to read that same transducer. The Active Imaging HD shoots a much higher frequency up to 1.2 Megahertz and should give a lot better detail. Excited to see it firsthand.

    I currently have HDS Live 9 at my bow and a 7 at the console networked together along with my ghost trolling motor and AT 1. If I purchase a new HDS Live 12 and install it on the bow, will it allow me to stay networked if I move my 9 to my console? Are all the inputs the same? Also, if I purchase AT 2, will it network the same way? Thanks and sorry for the long question.

      Yes you can network multiple units together via ethernet. You could add AT2 to the network and it would share as well. Holler if you have any questions or to purchase an HDS Live from me @ Russell Marine Products. 316-313-4113 ext 407

    I have the hds live,is it possible to use the 3-1 transducer for ice fishing?

    • @BehindTheReelFishing
      @BehindTheReelFishing  Рік тому

      Yes but your side imaging won't give you a good return unless it is moving at a good rate of speed. I have seen people rotate them in a circular motion in order to get a better return through the ice

    Can you Ethernet an hds live and a pro together? Or do the features not work like a Gen 2 and a Carbon together.

    • @BehindTheReelFishing
      @BehindTheReelFishing  Рік тому

      Yes they will network, although I believe Lowrance is working on a software update to allow the sharing of the higher frequencies from the new Active Imaging HD
