I have Torque On CF8 and have been riding it a year with no issues. My battery is fine. I am pass holder at Northstar and this is my bike park bike too. For all the haters this bike is a game changer and canyon will fix it
the 720 that came with the bike has the cracks. the new 900, no cracks, "yet"? the thing is, how im gonna send/get a new battery, as i went expat and now im off the US!?
BT0001 through BT0002, I posted on my video. Thanks Loam Wolf for helping get the word out! I’ve received feedback that some people are not getting the notice.
Yeah absolutely. Could potentially be a major safety issue, seems pertinent for those to are aware to share and maybe spare someone a very bad experience.
My espectral On right now is OFF, my batery have two very big cracks ,we are rats from laboratory for some bike constructors ,i hope canyon will repair this soon ,at the moment we most wait to december news from they ,because i am thinking to buy a new bike and at the moment is NOT another canyon 😢
My buddy got his canyon 2 weeks ago, went on one ride, came home, saw the email, checked his battery and yup, cracked around the screw holes. No bueno!
Seems like this might be a bit more wide spread than very few, and referencing the QR code for affected batteries. On this other channel he had 3 bikes and one was affected with cracks 1 out of thee may be more like the number affected. Here is the link to the other channel (road less traveled Truckee) ua-cam.com/video/GWzSD8Aa6R4/v-deo.htmlsi=IY4kdY2Tf8qKR4T4
I am a victim of the dreaded Canyon Battery Issue, sucks not being able to ride, lets see how long it takes for a replacement or solution. Fingers crossed.
@@TheLoamWolf thanks buddy, however, I am now residing in Australia and seeing its a US bike they are not sure what to do with me. Australia does not sell the EP801 or the 900Kw battery! Again fingers crossed.
hug fan of your channel, thank you for the content but on this particular subject i felt it was a bit misleading. although you demonstrated how to remove the battery and a visually inspection you failed to clearly convey the message from Canyon of what date codes and battery numbers are affected for the recall. a person cannot just visually inspect the battery and if nothing found, put it back in the bike and carry on. An affected battery could crack at any time, just because it looks ok today doesn't mean it will be ok next week. Canyon wants owners to stop using the batteries in the affected product numbers and dates. maybe some people will visually inspect and if nothing found continue to use and inspect every day, that is on them, but Loam Wolf message from Canyon. They are crystal clear of stop usage and do not charge the affected batteries.
Hello Vincent thanks for watching. Appreciate the feedback. We believe that the closing statement of not using it, charging it, getting it wet combined with the title and thumbnail image of “Stop Use” was clear enough. We hope that most people understood that and it’s why we directed people to visit Canyon’s website to learn more as well and sign up to get updates. But, thanks for sharing ways we could improve or be even more clear about that.
99% of batteries have the same architecture. The only really different batteries are lithium polymer which are mainly used in rc cars. They have a much higher power to weight ratio and a much higher discharge rate.
I won't tell people what to do but I share this opinion it's evolving quite a bit still. Just get a varg if you want a ebike 😂 I'm currently shopping for a talaria or varg. Theses things are insane it will probably replace my YZ and the future EMTB I was supposed to buy 😂
- "how stylish can you be?'
- "I match my shirts with my bike colors" 😉
Haha

Beautiful bike, but
Are we the only ones who see it as a little odd that dirt is able to work its way up the battery chamber?
Thanks, I'll check mine.
Canyon send me the 900wh battery and we'll call it even😎
If you have the Spectral On and have the 720wh battery,.. I'll trade you for my 900wh battery.

serial numbers for batteries affected BT0001, BT0002, BT0003 and BT0004 ..its located on battery I have spectral and torque...err 🤦♂
what also sucks is that the resale value just went down because of this...
There are also specific serial numbers involved. This was mentioned on another ebike channel. I use Bosch so I don't have the SN info.

Oops, BT0001-BT0004, mistyped sorry

We’re sorry to hear you are affected. Hopefully a resolution comes soon.

I saw a Canyon ebike in the window of the local Goodwill. Now i know why.
I'd totally still ride it
No ones donating their ebike to goodwill because of a fixable battery issue lmao
@ your mom did, traded up for mustache rides 🤣
I have a spectral:on cfr ltd a 10k bike without battery, mine was starting to crack. The bike is 5 months old.
Bummer to hear thanks for sharing.
@TheLoamWolf and till beginning of December we don't get anything

Remember when gasoline was considered dangerous and harmful to our health? Lol.

Ah that’s a bummer to hear. Hopefully they get a resolution quickly.

I have an affected bike and checked the battery and don't see any cracks.
Good news!

thank you for reading your viewers remarks and for the reply. Your reply in itself helps clarify my concerned comments. 🤜🤛
My bike is effected and I have a tiny hairline crack starting at one of the mounting holes.
Ah bummer. Thanks for sharing.
That’s what you get for buying a canyon. Chuck E Cheese bikes.
Kindly look like a Rocky Mountain Powerplay battery hmmm?😅
Not really the only thing I see in common is the general rectangular shape 😂

STOP BUYING ALL E BIKES IN GENERAL
No
Seems like a severe reaction. eBikes are sweet

@huckfin STOP telling other people what to do! We know you upset with the election and all…
Glad I went with specialized Levo comp carbon! Woot woot. It was a debate between CFR vs Specialize! Whew!!
Don’t ride e bike’s! Simple
no!
no!
What about when I preride for my enduro race the next day. I don't want to kill my legs getting to the top a day or two before.
Stop being an ass!
You’re a fucking genius. No, not really 🤣
