2:10 when I saw the picture, I got the feeling that kids feel when they see something new and wants to try that out. I made a 5 second video just to try out the art of directing. I have felt abstinence about it ever since.
I’m getting very sentimental right now. I’m sitting here watching the hbo documentary about Spielberg. I’m realising the impact his movies have had on my life. My father who was into the trucking craze of the 70s showing me duel. Watching close encounters both in the eighties and then in the nineties. Seeing Jurassic park in Sydney just after that city had been awarded the 2000 olympics and the hope and possibility for the future. The shock of watching the melting faces on TV when the Ark was opened. Sobbing inconsolably at ET. My tears watching Jim’s eyes finally close at the end of empire of the sun. Watching holly hunter break down in front Goodman in always. Exploring and considering the nature of evil in schindlers list. Seeing saving private Ryan in the first week of my lifelong relationship with the woman I am still with today. Your images have been always with me. Thank you Steven.
I grew up with ET, Jurassic park, and Hook, and when I was old enough I saw Schindler’s list which is now one of my favorite films of all time, Spielberg will always be my favorite director
I love how realistic all the living rooms are in his movies. Close Encounters, E.T., Jaws, Poltergeist...etc. You could get immersed in the story and movie, because it made it relatable and real. For real how many people's homes looked like Mrs. Cleavers.
I grew up watching all his movies, and even when my favorite director is still Alfred Hitchcock, 'cause his ability to capture our attention to live his films in our heart, mind and skin, even with the very limited special effects and technology and equipments in his time...; Spielberg is obviously that kind of director that we never forget, love and thank because all his films have the beauty, passion and attraction from different tastes, thematics and special effects that make us love and respect all of them and his trayectory as filmmaker, like no other director. Btw, today, I just watched his biopic "The Fabelmans"...; I totally recomend it...; is so intense, honest, beautiful film about his life and family, and with an a very clever and unexpected ending..; that I'm sure, you gonna love it too.
This is an excellent documentary. It's put together really well and tells the audience all it needs to know about the subject. Thanks, I,ll be checking out more of your work. I,ve already seen your Beatles "Accross The Universe" DOC. which led me to this. Both are excellent. Thanks again.
I’m so happy that he finally received all the recognition that he deserved many years before. It took “Hollywood” a lot longer to see what we, as movie fans saw immediately!! Steven Spielberg is an American Icon in my opinion
No 2021 Movie Version of West Side Story?! WOW! I personally think it's one of Steven Spielberg's VERY best Films and in opinion, it is BRILLIANT and a Cinematic MASTERPIECE and INCREDIBLE work of ART!!
@@johnfrank9435oh, OK, AWESOME, THAT'S a relief! Haven't had a chance to watch the video yet, have just looked at the comments! LOL! Thanks kindly for the heads up and have a safe, Blessed 4th of July!
What a lovely man. No matter what he does, he makes ordinary neighborhoods seem magical. Just saw the Reddit of “Jaws” in 3D! Just brilliant! BTW if Steven reads these……older films that I enjoyed or my all time favorite older films, “some like it hot” of course “miracle on 34th street” of course again. “Gone with the wind” (also an epic score). “Wizard of Oz” (another great score) but I am an 80’s child, and for me Steven Spielberg is my legend for sure! P.s. can’t wait to see his new film “The Fabelmans”
What a legend I always call him the master of filmmaking because well he’s pretty much is and he’s done it all he’s even made some of my favorite movies this man is the coolest person on the planet!!💝🙌🤩
I was driving by Devils Tower in Wyoming when a fuel tanker slowly got closer and closer. I was a bit tired but that woke me up! I sped up a bit, the tanker did too. I did that a couple of times until the tanker was happy with my speed and stopped hassling me. Duel and Close Encounters all in one day!
@@marktwain5232 Thanks, and it's absolutely true.! That night I stayed in a motel in Cody Wyoming and on the TV was the Australian Rules Grand Final (the same as the US Super Bowl) on cable. The couple who owned the motel told me it was on because the wife thought I'd be interested as she was from New Zealand and spent a few years living in my city in Australia. 2nd weirdest day of my life!

Between 12:49 and 12:53 , major errors about Spielberg's ages regarding when he directed Columbo and Duel. NOT 20 and 22 years old, respectively; but 25 for both productions made and released in 1971. Very disappointing!
Jaws was so damn difficult to make. That mechanical shark kept breaking down right when they were trying to film it all. No computer graphics back then which would have made it easier.
This needs to happen: Angelina Jordan in Paris Steven Spielberg Angelina Jordan is a young singer who has amazed the world with her voice and style. She has performed in many countries and events, but one of her dreams was to sing in Paris, the city of love and art. That dream came true when she was invited by Steven Spielberg, the famous director, to be part of his new movie project. Spielberg was impressed by Angelina's talent and wanted her to sing the main theme song of his film, a romantic comedy set in Paris. Angelina was thrilled and accepted the offer, and soon she found herself in the beautiful French capital, recording the song and exploring the city with Spielberg. They had a great time together, and Angelina felt inspired by the culture and history of Paris. She also learned a lot from Spielberg, who shared his wisdom and experience with her. Angelina said that this was one of the best experiences of her life, and that she was grateful to Spielberg for giving her this opportunity.

There's a small amount of people that watch the director as much as the movies
Chronologically this went a bit all over the place and seemed rushed in parts. Deserved more but still a good watch.
