- This custom Lotus 7 sports car was inspired by the book, Build Your Own Sports Car for as Little as £250. Peter started this project in high school and has spent 4 years to get it to this point. This British racer is ready for some low budget fun!
Recorded at the British Invasion in Stowe, Vermont.

A nice example of "if you can't buy it, build it".
The 'Locost' is a brilliant idea, but to top it off with that engine? Superb!
Brilliant execution, and to do it himself with the help of friends makes it even more impressive.
Most of us get a light bulb over our head when we get an idea . Dennis gets an air balloon ....show off ! ...Beautiful work , very impressive.
One more Locost! And a very special one! Kudos, Peter, you're a Hero!
I love this show and it helps me get a bit more motivation for my own project I'm building a 1970 gmc c15 I brought it when I was 15 I'm now 18.
I am the third owner I brought it off of the first owner grandson and the truck had been sitting for 20 years
And I got it running this summer now ineed to finish up some rust repair. The cool thing is I have all of the original paper work
Awesome.I hope we see you at 1 of the shows someday.Just keep plugging along and you'll be there.
very cool. i love a hand formed budget build.
Always bringing us the good stuff Dennis! Appreciate you!
From a Brit 🇬🇧 it looks awesome 👏🏼 👏🏼👏🏼
There is a guy near Cedar Rapids, IA that builds "lowcost" 7s that are mostly set up for SCCA Solo. Have loved his car ever since I first saw one. I think the first one was set up with a 2 rotor and is now running a 1.4l Ecotec, which just finish 1st and 3rd in its class at Nationals.
Wow I am amazed by this that's awesome I've been thinking about building a replica Lotus 25 or 49 for a while now and this is definitely helped give me the inspiration to try to go ahead and complete it
The old. Adage applies. The best rides are homebuilt.
Sure would like to see Dennis drive it. Part 2 video Dennis?????
I wish!
Beautiful build very common here in the uk
That is some Very good work from all that helped.
I know how Peter feels ,i didn't build mine the previous owner did ,i just modified it & drive the wheels off of it ,my son did a short video ,( lotus 7 joyrides sydney ).
Nice video Amigo 🤩👍
5 speed "Get rag" transmission.

It look like a go kart 👍🧡💕💞
They are. Handle really well even on British roads. Not that high a top speed. But once at the right speed, you don't slow down on corners. A 200hp is way fast enough. 0 - 60 4 - 6 seconds
Thank you
0:34 to 0:42 " . . had a vin from a wrecked one. " What this guy did is 100 % Illegal. You can't take a vin from a car and place it on another one. ( or at least not admit to it. )
