This song means an awful lot to me. A few years ago we took a family trip to Nan's old home in Fox Cove where she grew up, a place she only seldom visited since she left as a young woman. Mom sang this song around the fire with her guitar as we all gathered around and I thought it so beautifully captured the moment. Nan was old then, and while none of us specifically said it, it was obvious this would be the last time she would visit before she died. And it was in fact her last time, as Nan passed away last year. The words "take me home once more before I die" give me goosebumps every time it's sung. I listen to this song from time to time on Spotify but thank you for uploading it.
Thanks, Esmatullah. You can visit this part of NL when the weather improves. Yes, Maxine's voice is very captivating and, even though your languages are Farsi and Pashto, Maxine's clear voice makes the words perfectly understandable for a non-native speaker.

Thank you so much. We recorded this song on our CD, “The Dunne Family”, some years back. It is an original. (Written by my friend, Dorothy, who has passed away.). The arrangement and recording rights are mine. We have been so fortunate to have such kind words and support. Thanks again.

Is the singer related to Joan Morrissey?
I don't think the singer is, but coincidentally my mom (I am the videographer here) and Joan are first cousins.
