I'm an American Newfoundlander. I live in the states. Never wanted to leave Newfoundland ever but I did and I go home every now and then. It's been 12 yrs now for me.. God, I miss Newfoundland!!!!!!!
My grandfather passed and this song reminds me of him, such a hard worker and a great hunter. Showed me many things in life and took care of me when my mother left me and my sister. Many things I’ve wanted to say to him but it was all left unsaid, I’m forever grateful of the life he gave me and things he’s done for my family.
Your ability to understand how so many people feel, and then to put that into a song is amazing. It's no wonder it's such a hit, certainly tugs at the heart strings. All your songs have so much feeling in them.
I lost three grandparents in the last 3 years and I feel the same this song remindes me of them all he did an excellent job with this song and I am glad he has blessed us with it
The music, the people the food, the landscape is still part of my heart. I left Newfoundland in 1956 but it has always been my home. As a senior I have travelled back every year for the past seven years to experience the land I never knew as a child. I love it and always take a friend with me. They love it and I will go again once COVID is over. Thanks for the wonderful music. I dance daily around the dining room table to the songs I love. Thanks for the memories.
This brought my dad such comfort in his last months. We gathered as a family to listen to this song after his funeral, that was his wish. I wasn't able to listen to it for a few years but now i listen to it daily and look at photos of Newfoundland.. thank you for creating something that means so much to so many.
It's a beautiful song about the good times in newfie, when times were hard but we worked through them as friends and neighbors. The real newfie is gone forever. Keep creating songs like this. All real newfie need it.
So many Newfoundlander can truly understand this song because it hits so close to so many our hearts, so many of us had to leave and go away, God sometimes I wish I'd never left.... God I love that Island and its people...

Beautiful song, beautiful voice, i love it.
I tell ya that the key to a good song is in the voice of the singer but the key to a song that rips the heart open is this one!! Im 44 and finally left when i was 11 for good prior to that i mabey spent 6 or 7 years of my life out in the bay then moved to mount pearl to the time i left. not a day goes by i dont miss that rock. And everytime i listen to this i think of my mom my dad and their lives.. and my visits back throughout my life up to this point. I went from a bay whop to a townie gettin a hard time for my bay whop lingo from the townies.. when i went to alberta they called me a stupid newfie cause there wasnt many of us up here back 40 years ago, but they soon learned we were the best thing that could of happened to alberta. I am the walking legend of the saltwater cowboy!! Today with covid19 spreading like wildfire where we were born dont seem to matter anymore does it? Thats because we are one species and we are all one that god calls his sons and daughters. God bless you all and this song will always be a #1 on my charts..
Omg your amazing💕💕💕💕

Most people don't know what from Newfoundland means to the people that were born there this is a great example, born a Newfie always one.

What a beautiful song Brings a tear to 1’s eye
To bad we don’t know someone in Nashville,to get someone to record his songs. He deserves it.
Over 2 million views-wow-The man is a Genuine TALENT compared to some of the Junk singers on the go these days.
Nashville went out of style way, way back when you were a delinquent.
After all these years still my favorite. :)
