Man, you’ve got me straight up INSPIRED! Love this workflow and you are completely hitting the nail on the head, it’s SO easy to get caught up in the inessential minutiae instead of actually just “letting the song go where it needs to/write itself”. Also love how you’re recording the audio as is. I feel like some of my favorite projects are like that and once I try to change it I mess it up or just get bored lol. I’m subscribed bro! Keep up the great work!
Super useful LOGIC PRO X "tricks", note pad for lyrics for one HA! Thanks so much for sharing brother! I was searching videos in UA-cam for the Novation Circuit unit for with Logic Pro X applications for it, so glad you shared!
thanks for the window into your process ben! Could i ask if you have any opinions about which is the best beginner groovebox to buy besides the novation circuit ? I am a lofi producer, and I play around with guitar based beats as well!
The new Novation Circuit Tracks and Rhythm are really solid options. Before I settle on mine, I had also been looking at Roland MC-707 and Akai MPC Live, however, the Circuit was cheaper and more musical, in that it encourages experimentation; you often find yourself stumbling upon “happy accidents”. Other great cheap options include the little Korg Volca units. Hope this helps :)
I really like this approach of just recording audio in and preventing yourself from tweaking things.
Love your honesty in your workflow

The rant was spot on in my opinion. A drumkit should be panned like the drumkit is placed in front of you.
Thanks for sharing this workflow and general concepts -- especially the ones that force you to set it and move on, as I really appreciated that POV.
Great approach, thanks for your video!
This is great advice my dude, I feel like working in the daw I'm always tweaking and fiddling, never finishing lol

Cheers mate! Much appreciated 🙏
What are cables you used to connect your circuit?
Just 2 regular 1/4 jacks that run from the Circuit's left and right outputs into 2 channels on my interface :)
@@benbaileychannel can't just use a USB?
good to see my podcast made you do this haha
In all truth mate, it was a major contributing factor! 🤜🤛
