Circuit v2: Hold [Shift] and turn a knob to adjust 1-8 predefined 'common' synth destinations like cutoff, attack, etc. Then the knobs can remain fun/sound-specific macros but users can always quickly get at common synth controls.
Watched the whole thing, awesome techniques and stratogies for using this little groove box in many different musical genres and applications. I remember messing around with it 3 years ago and I'm still happy I have mine. lol This is one of those unique designs in gear that I don't think Novation even thought of hahahaha I love all the updates too. I remember when you couldn't even audition a synth sound without having a controller connected, anyway sorry I digress. When I was considering buying one, you were doing amazing things with it back then and I enjoy your content. The Circuit has proven it's a great little machine for any level and any budget. I standardized my knob configuration now to suit my usage of the Circuit, took me months, almost a year to get it to where I could maxiumize it in my little setup. Now, it serves me well. I am not a content creator so I don't have a platform to share or I would too. I would also love to see how you setup the parameters so yea, please tweak it some more and throw us a link!!! :) Only putting this here so you know I love my circuit too heheheheeee I was trying to get more than 6 tracks...I use this a lot and now with the ability to use parts within a synth........ Like I said, I digress :)) ua-cam.com/video/GpG6YTAzLyQ/v-deo.html
I find it really interesting your approach. I would like to see more about making complete tracks or using it live. How to do a whole set with the circuit as your main groovebox, if it is possible. I just liked, suscribed and hit the bell. Thanks!
Good video. Just dropped by in case anything was relevant to the Mono Station. Hadn't realized that other than the buttons what different beasts they are.
good example of customizing the organization of your gear to fit your approach/method of use. I especially like the idea of standardizing the knob assignments by sound type. Thanks for the idea. More details on sync/export with ipad appreciated.
Neb Retseh I wondered what you were on about till I got to that point in the video then bang straight away when I heard it . It does sound real real close to my ER . I use the circuit with the ER to flesh out the circuits drums.
I found this interesting I've seen the other approach as well where the drum tracks are pitched to use as melodic elements. I tend to use the sample flip to maximize 2 of the drum parts enough to make a beat then automate the parameter locks on those to get movement across the measures. I usually use at least one of the drums to run voice/vocal snippets. I hadn't really considered using the synth engines as percussion... I like the idea now that I've seen it in action.
I have 3 , the audio outputs only for the drums and the midi output for the synth sequencers. I use the iConnectivity Midi4+ , it can host up to 8 midi USB devices.
Hey, how have you got it hooked up to the iConnectivity4, do you also use your iPad with it. I recently got iconnect4. I got a Moog Mother, Circuit & a Volca sample and looking to hook them all up with Iconnectivity4
I only use the Circuit for Music Production. It's less is more approach is perfect for the sound that I am trying to achieve. My only hope is that the add page of Patterns and it would be perfect for what I am trying to achieve with ease.
The circuit could make an ideal drum machine for DJs who like to add extra drum hits to their sets. The ability to load your own drum samples makeshift more flexible than a few drum machines I've seen used in this way. It's also much smaller than a tr8. This could be an interesting video if combined with something like traktor.
Right now the easiest way for me is recording it in Cubasis and then moving the tracks to Cubase. My studio setup don't got more usb slots to plug de Circuit directly to the computer jeje
Awesome idea of using the synth tracks as an analogue drum. I saw that novation now also offer a patch editing screen in their software, ill have to see how it compairs to isotonikstudios.com/product/circuit-editor-pro/ which i bought some time ago. Would like it if you make your bank available. I have also wondered if novation could make their drum ployphonic, by cyceling trough the four drum channels. Altough it would be very difficult to edit since all the notes would be on different channels
I feel the same as you did. It's so much fun.... until you actually try to use it for music. I came to the conclusion I like it as a really small and powerful midi controller.
Which is a bit sad, since you lose two 6-voice synth lanes. My minilogue xd was much more expensive and goes only to 4 voices (still an awesome and incredibly versatile synth).
Circuit - the most underated synth groovebox.

Just got one and it's certainly a new way to play. Thanx for sharing.

I freakin love the circuits sequencer , it allows a surprising degree of automation and there are some fantastic randomization patches out there.
The circuit got a great analog spirit. The sound is hot, wide and dirt. Your presets are very good. I'm wating for your share ; ) great job.
Masterclass! Fantastik vision for novation circuit!
Thanks!
A very interesting and insightful approach. Thanks for sharing!

Thank for the support. I'll prepare more videos about the Circuit.

Sounds like an ol Korg ER-1! Great video...thanks for the info on this machine...👀👍

This is really useful, just got my circuit this week and starting to dive into editing!
Glad to be helpful.

That is a cool approach!

Sounds awesome

Maybe. Novation is knowed for listening to the user base.
Pack for download would certainly be great, however tutorial showing us your auditioning and re-assigment process would be even better ;)
Good suggestion. I’ll work on that.
Inspiring approach! +1 for finishing the bank! :)
Mate try the Elektron model cycles! Its a awesome addition to you're kit! I sold Circut once id bought it...

Awesome.
Yes, please! Exporting separate tracks/sounds from Circuit and getting them in sync seems like black magic. Any tips would be highly appreciated.
Do you mean to record from separate circuit tracks into a DAW to then continu the process? How to do that transfert?
@@Nu-trix Good morning! Specifically, how to record loops onto separate tracks and have the six different Circuit tracks in sync in the DAW.
Right now the easiest way for me is recording it in Cubasis and then moving the tracks to Cubase. My studio setup don't got more usb slots to plug de Circuit directly to the computer jeje
Is there other groovebox that is better that the circuit?
I like the Roland TR-8S a lot... but it is not as portable.
Awesome idea of using the synth tracks as an analogue drum.

He left it in a reply to the comment “I want your bank”

Keep jamming
the synths are not good for bass sounds my opinion, they have some sweet spots but kicks arent that punchy neither bass lines
I only use mine now for when I go on a trips or sometimes the 128 steps sequencer to control other synths
They make great sub base.
the audio outputs aren't connected... what's happening :D
I’m using the headphone out on the bottom of the unit.
I want your bank :)
You can find one here: www.nu-trix.com/free-circuit-sound-pack-and-sample-pack/
I just use it as midi controler 😅
