Thank you for both videos! They really helped a bunch! When I bought my Open, I also purchased the official OnePlus Case "OnePlus Open Protective Set" which was quite expensive for 50 bucks. And the Libeagle case (under some different fake chinese brand name, but it's clearly exactly the same case) for just in case. The official One Plus Protective Set is very weird and asymmetrical and offers no protection for the corners of the front screen as it only has a very thick screen protector (too thick to use it with the Libeagle case). Either way, somehow that screen protector broke in the middle so I changed cases. I had the same problems with the Libeagle case and the amount of missclicks and typos very quickly became unbearable. So I followed your steps (with a hairdryer instead of a heatgun) and could separate the clear front from the rest of the case. Then I applied a normal screen protector and now it's perfect. All around edge protection, kickstand (I also use for a safer grip often), and smooth typing and no more retries when trying to use my gestures like swiping from the corner. Really happy and thanks again for both your videos! All the best for your channel!
Seems like you and I had similar journeys with looking for a case. This is my favorite device right now and it's like it gets no love from a lot of these case makers. I am glad you were able to find a work around and make your case work for you. I also use the kickstand for extra grip when holding the device. Thanks for watching, I truly appreciate your comment and your time.
You are a breath of joy and enlightenment. Welcoming and highly informative. Straight to the point. And you may just have convinced me to remove the front glass. I'll have my much more careful spouse do the heat gun routine-- and of course I'll have him watch your video FIRST! Thanks again.
I appreciate your content on the oneplus open cases. I bought the libeagle case like yours with the privacy screen protector. Its a great case and probably the most comfortable and protective one as i have tried a few. Have the same issues you faced with respect to false touches and sluggish touches.
Hi, first, nice video, thanks for putting it up. How much you feel this case protects against drops? I have a small kid that drops my phone here and there, I just got the phone so I will put a case as soon as it arrives, I looked your video on the Poetic case, but looks way to bulkier, will this "libeagle" offers a decent protection? os is it just plastic ( rubbers offers more protections in my opinion), thank you very much
I would try the Nilkin case over the libeagle case, if I had to choose between them. I haven't dropped my device yet with any of the cases so I couldn't tell you how they survived after a drop. I feel the libeagle case can offer some protection but the Nilkin feels more put together. Thanks for watching.
I would say if you are not use to using a matte screen protector and you normally use a clear screen protector, you may notice a difference in the screens clarity and over all look. I prefer the matte screen protectors because it doesn’t show the fingerprints as much and it gives off less glare when I am making videos. Thanks for watching.
I got the same issue with mentioned case, the original oneplus front cover was responsive, unfortunately i think i threw it out when I brought this one. 🤦

@@SpecTechularGadgets Thank you. Will check it out. Have you seen the Poetic Spartan case which has dropped for the phone now? It looks chunky but I might check it out myself.
@@Banjomeister i got it around a month ago and the kickstand in the hinge broke while it was not in use. tried to ask for a replacement or a refund and it was a no go.
I had posted on both of your threads and then I decided to delete it because I kind of figured out the answers to some of the things I had asked. I just wanted to say thank you so much because this chunky monkey of a case is exactly what I was looking for as I currently have a wallet type case for my s24 ultra otterbox strada. It's really for the s23 ultra but I made it work. I would say my main criticism of this case is how horribly hard it is to get that back cover off and I think if you were somebody who swapped Sims and didn't have e Sim, it might be an issue, I know it would be for me. Other than that it's almost the perfect case I haven't had any touch issues but I put the front cover on over the pre-installed one plus protector. I don't know if others had an additional one over that or a thicker one instead of that and thus ran into issues.
Hey there! I appreciate your time in watching my videos. Yes, lol. I agree with you regarding the effort it takes to get the back part of the case off. Thanks again for watching.
@SpecTechularGadgets thanks did you install yours over the factory installed screen protector or did you remove that and put your matte screen protector on the naked phone and then install the case protector? The only thing I'm a little worried about is I saw somebody say that it removes the screen protector that's underneath it if you try to take the case front off. I care because of the warranty I think one plus says don't remove the screen protectors I think they mean front and inside but I'm not sure.
the problem is because the oneplus open became with screen protector preinstalled so when u put the case that comes with the screen protector so it add an extra thickens which is makes hard to be touch
That was what I was wondering because I just took the phone out of the box and put the case on and I love this case this thing saved me from dropping this phone. So far I haven't found putting the front one on has caused me any trouble but we'll see. My idea of using the front portion from the OnePlus case that came with the phone did not work as it seems to interfere with the hinge. But whether I keep this extra screen protector on or remove it with a heat gun I have found my case and thank you so much.
Ok... So it was never the phone... It was this horrible glass. At this point I might as well use the one that came with the phone as the face case. Then I don't have to worry about the glass
So far I've been fortunate and the glass has not interfered with whatever one plus originally installed. I also use that sidebar and it's a big deal to me coming from Samsung. But if I were to start having sensitivity issues, I will definitely take the glass portion out. This case saved me from wanting to send back this phone. I haven't found the kickstand to be particularly helpful but it's the grip of the material on the case that makes this all worthwhile for me.
@SpecTechular Gadgets your video along with @myproject13 are the better ones that I have found for a lot of the other case options..... Having said that I think a few things ALL manufacturers of these OPO cases missed is that. There should've been a very small chamfered edge on the upler right for that side menu bar if holding it in your right hand. ALL manufacturers should've made their hinge protection covers retractable like this one. I have to agree with you on another video and made mention to this on mp13 video as well. All the UA-camrs making a video on the OPO should bombared dbrand to make the ultimate case. I'm pretty sure there is enough of us that bought it to have one out there.
Thanks for your awesome comment. It's been some time now and we still don't have too many options when it comes to the OnePlus Open cases. Retractable hinges should be the standard. Thanks for watching.
@@SpecTechularGadgets yeah no problem. The sidebar tab could be lined up on the chamfered slot edge for the sidebar on most aftermarket cases if you look at the options in the smart side bar options. No UA-cam has mentioned that in any video 😉. I personally emailed a few other vendors to see what they can make. They are lagging so much in making the ultimate one especially Nillken because they have that foldable bracket that could be made for the OPO like they have for the SS FOLD 5.

yo can you tell me what screen protector you used in place of the one you took out. im thinking of doing the same!
Removing the glass seems simple enough for anyone having issues with it.
For the most part. Just a little heat and some patience. Thanks for watching.
i actually just pinched the screen protector and it came right off xd
I can see why some people would want to remove the glass. The mistouches could get kinda annoying after a while.

I truly appreciate your kind words. I hope you are able to remove the glass safely. Thanks for watching and have a SpecTechular day!
Thank You for the follow up.I have this case and I removed the built in screen protector before I saw this.
Its so much better without the screen protector. Thanks for watching.

Can you please tell me weather the outer display and inner display comes with a screen protector out of the box or I should buy from the market?
Thanks for this nice video, I appreciate!
I wish you good luck with your channel!

I need the link to that front screen protector? The matte looks so good

Does the matte screen protector make the screen brightness/quality go down? I had one on my Samsung Flip and it was horrible sometimes.
