What was the culprit? I’m pretty sure my fuel pump is weak , my car turns on and drives but lacks performance above 3k rpms . I changed bank 1 and 2 sensor 1 which was faulty and now I have this code
@@evojumpman8806 I ended up changed all (4) O2 sensors, but it was the MAF, (mass air flow sensor). I changed the fuel filter, as well. Runs great now. 2005 Chevy Astro, 4.3L

@@evojumpman8806 You will be fine. I put dual CAI tunes on my Astro and runs smoother acceleration and better gas mileage. The computer adjust instantly with the added air and cool air. (You do not have to do a drive cycle). Check out Jet Performance site, they have chips and programmers for most cars.
I changed out the MAF and replaced vaccum lines that were in bad shape and that got rid of the bank 2 lean code. Still have a misfire on cylinder 4, but found out that air is getting passed the exhaust valve on that cylinder.
Question: if your car has two banks, but the code is only for one bank (bank 2 too lean), could it still be the maf sensor? And wouldn’t an exhaust leak need to be before the upstream o2 sensor to cause this code?

Great question. Once the faulty part or suspected faulty part is changed always clear faults and test. The cars systems will need to go through their test via a drive cycle/ readiness test. This can be anywhere from 50 to 100 miles. I always suggest to rescan after test drive whether the light is on on or not. Of course this applies if the car is running ok.
I have a 2018 frontier.My exhaust broke at the flange ..the code came on bc it wasn’t getting a propper read of the fumes..the exhaust has been fixed and code is still on..I was told it will reset after xxx miles or drive cycles..I’ll let you know

no not usually check for air leaks while engine is on sprays the hose connections for air with carb cleaner , the engine rpm will rise if you find a leak tighten clamp or replace hoses

i ain’t no mechanic but bank 2 means that it could be on the driver side of the engine (if you’re engine is V configuration) . I could be wrong though
Bank 2 means the bank that contains the #2 cylinder. Could be driver or passenger just depending on where the manufacturer placed cylinder #1.

I believe you are correct. Most likely a vacuum leak.

Change fuel filter first. If the light comes back on, change the O2 sensors.
