I need help with technique. All of my other precision top are relatively easy to spin because the spindles are thicker. But Foreverspin tops are always so hard to get a good spin because of the thin spindle. I'm constantly launching them in all directions. Any suggestions?
"Practice, practice, practice..." would be my best advice. I find that applying a slight downward pressure on it helps to stabilize it. If you have a habit of sending it too far too one side, try compensating by offsetting your starting point in the opposite direction. For example, if you start on the center of the base, but often send it 2 cm to the right, start 2 cm to the left and it will center itself after a few spins. I hope that helps! Have fun!
@Marco Antonio Espinosa López Not true. It could use magnets (in which case it'd need a special platform) to hold it up. You could make it so that it spins due to the magnetics spinning inside the base, which of course would require electricity, meaning that the second law of thermodynamics.
Thats what they meant. Forever and ever and ever and ever and ever, ever and ever, for a long time after forever is another forever waiting for you to watch the top spin for ever and ever. Ugh
You could have just cut the camera as it wobbles a little bit like till here 0:53 and then everyone will question you does it last forever or does it fall
@@MS88nyc I watched inception in my childhood but remembered it vaguely so I just re-watched it legit 4 days ago (I'm 18) and I'm about to buy a ForeverSpin top now Haha
Demetrius M. Yeah it seems like a foolish purchase at first but now that I have one (copper, 3rd heaviest, least expensive heavy top) I really want to feel all the different metals and see how they spin. I just like to give it a spin every so often on my metal table that it sits on. Sometimes several times in a day, sometimes not at all. But it looks classy and there’s something nice about it.
I'm really impressed: this is one of the most useless things that I've ever seen. The only impressive aspect of it is it's expensive price. Is this the sign of the edge of capitalism? Creating useless expensive shit?
I just recently purchased a stainless steel spinning top off Amazon for $12. Both my wife and myself have achieved over seven minutes on our glass coffee table. I wonder why the spin times are so short with foreverspin ?
wow, not sure why this is important or useful, BUT it must be less harmful then staring at your phone for 2 minutes (or watching a video of this and reading what I have written about it) :)
SiMoNiZe23 my titanium rolled of the table onto the tiles i was scared, there was a small nick but surpringly it spun like it wasnt moving and is fine, very durable metal

Wooden, freshly turned from the Lathe will spin for this time. Was contemplating buying one but thanks to this video I have now made my decision. Over-priced in my opinion. Thanks mate👍
_Forever Spin_ tops are nice enough to look at, but there are any number of well precision machined tops (MentonBoss being the longest spinning I've played with so far) with which even an utterly inexperienced user (me, for one) can _easily_ obtain eight to ten minute spins. I've seen spins by accomplished users (not me) which exceeded _twenty_ minutes!
Woodrows spinning tops on etsy. For the same 500 bucks or so for the 5 tops you get from forever spin, you can have 5 rubies or sapphires. Or 5 lambda tops, or vorso tops..
I don't have a single scratch on mine. You'll need to clean it from time to time to remove dust and fingerprints. According to the ForeverSpin website, the base is made of "S-Steel and Silica Glass". Hope that helps!
Can someone tell me what the attraction of these tops are for adults, especially as I assume that, due to their precision construction, they’re probably not inexpensive. I used to love playing with tops as a kid (do kids even play with tops anymore?) and am not trying to be sarcastic. I just don’t get their appeal.
For me, it's 100% due to Inception. Since it's one of my all-time favorite movies, I found this top closely resembled the one used by the main character. I also felt it would make a nice piece on my office desk.
My favorite tops are the shorter, stouter ones. I have a plastic Garfield top that I got at a friend's birthday party that spins better than this thing. Speaking of tops, search "Captain Unusual Tippe Top" for a vid of a tippe top I made at home from a screw and a furniture knob.
LOL total scam, my grandma’s spinning toy from the 1930s spins a lot longer on any simple glass table/surface. Simply because you use two strings to launch it and not your hand so it starts perfectly balanced and looses less momentum in settling it’s gyroscopic balance.
My self created top (made from the gear of an old grandfather clock) spins better and longer than this. For upto around 1 minutes it spins without any wobble and after that it spins for another 2 mins with increasing level of wobble. Giving a total of over 3 mins
That's too bad, but I get it. It was my first week with it and I was happy with how stable it was. I've gotten it to spin much longer, but just wasn't filming it.
When i was on a fair, i got a little wood top, same size, for free. It was spinning a minute, probs to this 50$ gadget, you paid 2,5 bucks for every extra second... ^^
Ive been so confused man about this. There is actually a product that has a spinning top that actually spends forever. There is in fact one that should already be called forever spin not these guys
That was finite. I feel like they should be prosecuted for false advertising. At least a 10 hour video of a single spin would have been considered a good try.

The warranty not the spin which is for ever.
I agree, for this in fact did not spin forever! As observed through my comic book guy eye.
Lol pretty long spin.
How long goes it spin for
1 minute and 23 is not exactly long...

Forever = 83 seconds

Not exactly forever. The string-powered gyroscopes we had when I was a kid (1950s/60s) were much cooler and probably spun longer.

You can still get string powered gyroscopes. This isn’t one.
