To anyone going into retail, stick with fashion retail. Having worked both fashion retail and supermarket retail, so much better in fashion retail

Hi
As always great video! 😇 I went to Guildford a week after I was confirm my place at surrey, I was looking for a part time job as I didn't want to compete with 16,000 students ha ha 😅 I got few offers from Zara, river island, Debenhams, JD and Next. I now have a very good weekend job and would truly recommend looking for a job before uni starts 😇
thank you so much :) Haha that's really smart, congratulations on getting the job!! ✨🎉
you are sooo prettty 😍
so kind, thank you so much!!
I firstly worked Tesco as a personal shopper, hated it, thought the range wood be good. I've only had my induction and I already hate it
I hope working in somewhere like Argos is easier
i like ur voice and ur communication love it
That's so weird my brothers doing econ and finance at Surrey too😂
ah no way 😂 is he second year too?
oh no haha he's acc third and final year - he's not doing placement
Greatttt
New subbie 💟 love from Chicago
Cool video
Most retail is minimum wage which sucks especially when the hours are long and you’re working your ass off
Thank you thats is really helpfully
For me the only issue I have with retail is minimum wage. I worked in a cinema (Won't say which one) and for the level of physical exertion it was not worth just over 5 quid an hour.
I worked for Zara and I was 18 at the time and I was paid £7.60ph. I was there for a long time but quit due to studies. It all depends of the retail store :)
+Michel M how much experience do u have? ive done volunteering for 3 months in a shop/year 12 mentoring/library mentoring :/
+Kwekue Ghana hey I have less than a year of retail experience, I would recommend you to apply online, but if you are not in London and you are outside is always best to go to the store. Be extremely friendly and be very flexible then once you are in the organisation you may ask for less hours or changing the dates of work. I think that's helped me. Of course don't say you can do full time when you can do only part time. LoL good luck 😇
I think it also depends on which store you work at, with your experience now you would definitely be able to get a better paid retail job
Minimum wage if you're under 18 is even worse!!
were u paid by hour or was it £25k /I struggle with the questionnaires for customers - when did u apply BTW? do u think I should apply for Christmas temp aswell
Didn't mean it like that its just that some part time position post hourly monthly or annual pay and I was just wondering what the job advert looked like
I was paid an hourly rate, and I got the wages monthly :) I applied in March/April I think. Yep you should go for it, such a great experience working there
+streetorvintage hi i am from Trinidad and tobago an iwzntto work in the uk....do you have any suggestions.
@@Streetorvintage how much did u get paid monthly?
I want to work in Uk, I am studying in India, b. Com degree

sam. j’avoue 🤤
Wht abt ur english level when u first come to the uk?
Where did you work?
Do you know at river island right? Do they allow u to get a work experience if you are 16
Most people I know that have workers at river island have said that most customers were very rude and demanding so I personally wouldn’t apply there
@@heeyashah5093thats kind of just normal for retail so
HoF application process is similar
How can I apply abroad job vacancy
I'd call myself the Gordon Ramsey of Retail, if anyone fucks up in Retail I'm there. WHERE IS THE FUCKING BAIL FOR THE BAILER...
I love you
what degree did she get ?
she studies economicd
yep economics & finance
I feel like retail can be quite a racist environment for British Asians especially in the north of England
UK is a white country dumbass
THE REAL BOSSTOP 0B4L Did I say it isn't? I just said that there is quite a bit of hostility towards Asians in retail in the North, I'm Asian and lived in the north my whole life and I've worked retail there as well, my point was that it is quite difficult to get a retail job there if you're of Asian background ...
@@therealbosstopob4l974 wtf
@@whmn4970 I'm just stating facts
@@therealbosstopob4l974 No, I know, but he/she never said it's not? The fact that it's a white country doesn't justify racism
Mam I'm Indian please help me job
UA-cam on your CV? Fucking hell...
Selfridges?
harrods lmfao
lol what
she said Knight bridge area
ASDA.
Harrods.
What did you wear ?
Just something smart
Retail/customer service is pointless
Further education, and pursuing passions, and starting businesses is the way to go
But if you're young retail for a short while is alright
I am working in retail before I go to university. Its just a way to get some extra income before I go.
@@josephbrennan370 Yeah, I respect that. I did waitering for a while when I dropped out of uni a few years back. Hoping to finish my degree another time.
@@nightuniverse8314 what did you end up doing?

Phaji, call an agency
@@ks4431 mam pls suggest any genuine agency or contact number pls mam pls mam
@@abhineetpaul8728 I wish you luck in your goals but to be honest I think you will struggle in the UK if you are unable to do something as simple as searching for a recruitment agency yourself. You need to be more proactive and independent. I wouldn’t suggest relying on UA-cam comments.
what ethnicity are you
Srilankan
Hey would you be able to help me apply for a job if I gave you my number or email? X
